The sound of vapor
I bought some tickets for his next gig today (it's in January but I'm super excited and I've seen him 3 times already!) so I thought I'd post some of his work here for those who don't know him and those who appreciate him already, ladies and gents let me introduce to you my all time favourite artist (by far), the grandmaster from Japan: DJ Krush!

For those who don't know him, the word genius fits him like a glove but is just not enough. the man has been around for more than 20 years, producing hip hop/rap, trip hop, "jazz", electronic tunes of his own kind.
Respected and admired by artists and music lovers from all over the globe he has inspired many and I'm sure he will continue to inspire many more in the coming decades! His turntablism skills are no question either and he's definitely to be checked on stage, whether he comes solo or with guest appearances (which goes from emcees to jazz players or even traditional Japanese artists).

It's quite impossible for me to make a small selection of songs that'd represent the extent of his work but I'll still try! :D

Smooth and contemplative, Zen (2001) is one treat for the ears, I love putting the first song in the morning setting up for a perfect day:

Still quite chilled, "On the Dub-ble" an old track from 1994 (damn what was I listening to at time?!!)

And now a piano storm:

How about a sunny and jazzy tune?

Some of his latest work:

The man is quite eclectic and listening to one of his album or live concert can transport you to places.

Finally for those interested, here is his discography (definitely worth digging into).

Apologies for the wall of videos but if I had to do it for one artist, that had to be him! ;) Hope you'll enjoy!

Doing a quick search, I see that Blockhead was mentioned on the thread a long time ago, but nothing specific was posted to showcase his music. Well, here it is now. Highly recommended for vaping...

Blockhead - Carnivores Unite (a solid jazzy groove thing)

Blockhead - Long Walk Home (a spaghetti western meets james bond girl type groove)

Bruce Buffer: It's time!

Has the music scene got you down?

Was just listening to "Vaporize" by Broken Bells, @S1N3 . I usually don't like them much (tend to like 1-2 songs per album), but the title seemed appropriate at the moment, and the lyrics are great! It's one of their good ones. "Trap Doors" is good, too. Maybe I need to give this album another listen? :\

I've never liked Diana Krall's work this much before... and it's just a preview.

Check it out starting at 4:09, I've never heard her quite like this. Actually the whole thing's pretty cool for a promo. It's so different for her that they gave it the 4:20 time slot...
Perhaps she got converted by all the old rock stars, hopefully she didn't combust:science:

edit: I think Elvis Costello may finally be coming back around as well...

One of my favorites. Starts out quiet but keeps building with some sort of whispered urgency. This song always transports me into another lifetime, filled with nostalgic dreams of a youthful past.
