Hello fellow vapers... Have a quick question.. I want to use my ABV for cooking so what is the highest temp i can take my herbs to and still have usuable abv for cooking? ive currently been finishing my sessions at 230c is that temp making whats left useless or is there still stuff left for cooking applications? at 220-230 my herb is a dark brown and pretty dry if that helps.

Depends on what effect u want from ur medible... if ur looking for a full effect medible. Just decarb, dont vape. If ur looking for a body effect that makes you drowsy vape it up as much as u want... but the more u vape the less effect... and the variable if starting quality applys of course.

I vape dispensary quality im a MMJ Patient so it always good quality.. and yea im wanting edibles that will knock me out.. so with what you said is my 230 vaped stuff still usable or should i maybe stop at abit lower temperature, i know according to the temp chart on here at 230 you release all the available possibilities atleast that are documented so not sure if 230 would render my stuff useless for cooking or is there still some possibilities of it having something for cooking, is there usually a max temp people generally stay out to still make sure to have properties left to cook? I know what i have currently saved is a nice darker brown and does have a slight popcorn smell but not to badly. Also on a second part of this does anybody have a recipe for brownies using ABV like how much ill need for a single batch is mostly what i need to know and is there a special way i need to prepare the ABV for cooking use?

We have a whole cooking section here at FC. A lot more ideas than just brownies, which can get old fast.

As for quantity of ABV it depends on how heavy you want your food to be... ive used just a few grams in my scramby eggs and ive laced a box of brownies with over an ounce of fine powder ground. That will put u down. Either way I highly recomend having a browse through the link above for a firmer graps of cooking with abv.

Essentially, the higher temperature you vape it at, and the darker brown the ABV gets, the more ABV you will need to use in your recipe to get the same effect as just using freshly decarbed herbs. I tend to use ABV thats medium brown at most for cooking because otherwise it takes a ton of herbs to get potent edibles.

With the temperatures you are finishing at, you could still make edibles from that ABV, but I would imagine you would need to use a lot (sorry, I know "a lot" is quite subjective, but I am not able to guess the amount...). I'd recommend stopping at a lower temperature if you are planning to cook with the ABV in the future, as you will need considerably less herb and sometimes it can be difficult to extract herb into oil when there is an excessively large herb-oil ratio (as in tons of herb floating in a bit of oil...I've learned this recently from some other forum members).
