Convection oven/ Microwave vaporizer

Just a fun thought that might lead somewhere.

Has anyone ever tried using their kitchen oven or microwave as a vaporizer, or will you if you have that much herb?

Preheat an oven to desired vaporizing temp and place a sheet with an ounce or so of herb on it so we can see what happens. I assume a convection oven might work best, but I can see how a conventional oven would work also.


My thought behind this is just to see how that would be. Like an industrial herbal vaporizer. More hot house-ing than hot boxing, if it worked.

As for the microwave I was wondering if that heat technology would be a valid heat source for a vaporizer? I would already guess you can not use flowers because the non vaporizing material would get too hot and combustion would occur. But maybe not and you never know until you try it.

Closest thing I've heard of using a microwave, reminded me of Leary biscuits. What the ailing Dr Leary used to medicate with.

To oversimplify - Microwave energy is 2 or more radio waves that excite water molecules then causing them to vibrate and generate heat.
If that was a desirable effect and could be somehow incorporated with your hot-housing, then perhaps you are on to something. In theory.

Conversely, I consider my Pax and a few other conduction vapes to be essentially mini-ovens. Some people have even cooked brownies in their PAX.
I also use a lot of my cooking skills and cleaning practices when using the EQ with positive results. Preheat the oven, try to keep a consistent temp,etc.

The Oracle uses infrared heating, not microwaves. You need a vacuum tube (magnetron) to produce microwaves and this vape doesn't have one.

I don't see microwaves ever becoming a viable heat source for a vape, due to the size of the components necessary to produce and contain microwaves.

well, 5 seconds in my microwave and the herb ignites - regardless of power setting ... pretty hard to control, pretty useless.
