Consistency problem with shatter

This is a new situation for me. I don't like very oily waxes. They're just difficult to work with, and I often think they're lower quality than pull-and-snap consistency shatter. But I've learned to deal with it.

What I have now is different. This shatter is... well...shattered. Into tiny pieces. That don't stick together because the consistency is too hard and dry, and don't stick easily to the dabber. The pieces left are tiny and difficult to deal with.

Anyone have any ideas how I can get this shatter to stick to itself so I can make dab-sized chunks out of it? The only thing that came to mind is to mix it with a softer shatter, like coating a bud in kief.

Thanks for the help. I probably didn't describe the problem well. It's not that the shatter is too hard to cut through, it's that it's fine like dust and won't stick to itself. So I'll try heating the dish and see what happens. Every time I mess with it some more dust falls off....

Edit: Back to sticky! Thanks again folks.

Gather the dust and pieces between your thumb and finger, let your body heat warm the dust and rub into a small dab.

Greetings man, heat is a useful way to manipulate this kind of absolute shatter too. I have some of my recent LWET absolute still sitting here which is much the same consistency. Ends up with tiny non sticky crumbs which are super difficult to get on the dabber! I find that using a worked boro dabber which I have very slightly heated is the best way to make it stick to the dabber.

You can always do the trick where you put the "dust" in between a folded parchment paper and heat a spoon and rub it on the outside of the paper gently. This will make it form to the consistency you desire.

Put it on parchment and knead it with your fingers. The friction will heat it up and it will become sticky and pliable.

EDIT: What dabcoma wrote in the post above. I missed it.

I have also used my torch to heat the bottom of the pyrex, just to get it sticky.

This happened to me a lot with QWISO. Its not a bad thing, just extremely difficult to work with. It turns to dust and sticks to everything except itself, scatters in the slightest wind.... but if you can wrangle it all up and press it, you'll get shatter.

Scrape it before it totally dries next time if you don't want to deal with the dust. At least scrape up a glob to use as a duster. Rolling dabs of a different variety in the dust for a fun treat the whole family will en....wait. I forgot what I was talking about.
