Congress To Undermine Legal Marijuana In Washington DC

You just know the moment Obama endorses the idea the repubs will explode over the latest Kenyan socialist, lawless desecration of the Constitution. Rises to the level of 'high crimes' they'll shout...

Well, that kinda goes without saying.

I can't help but wonder if Hillary's being a woman will provide the rethugs with the necessary permission to completely trash everything she says and stands for in the same way that Obama's being black allowed it for his presidency (in their eyes). While only 13% of Americans are black, more than 50% of Americans are women. And nearly every man has at least one women that he MUST keep happy for his own good.

Or are we past the point in this country where we can ever go back to a government that works as it's designed to work...

Well, if that is correct than that is pretty cool, and quite manageable for this admin if they want to act. And this IS a President who responds to pressure, at least from his own...

Taking MJ off schedule 1 would resolve MOST of the problems facing MJ moving forward. Time for MOVEON to get it's act together.

Now that we have a simple majority of states that have passed at least cbd/mmj legislation, now would seem to be the time to issue an executive order for re-scheduling all forms of cannabis, which may be the the only way to bend our venerable financial institutions to support the will of the people. But knowing obama, he'll wait until the last days of his administration to "give marijuana a presidential pardon".

It's preferable for Congress to pass a bill removing cannabis from the schedule. That way it becomes harder for the next prez to put it back or whatever. It also prevents the move from being seen as some sort of Obama power play. Republican lords of hyperbole would have a field day with it.

The Dems probably wont make any calls rescheduling it till they know how it will fit into the 2016 campaign. This in turn will likely wait to see who the Reps run and where they position themselves.

Can you believe some have said they should put the mayor Muriel Bowser in jail if she allows this? I didn't catch the names of those that said that but I will be watching.

The DC Cannabis Campaign hosted a seed giveaway a couple of days ago and their second giveaway is going on at this moment. Hundreds of people showed up to get seeds and 20 or so came with seeds to give away. Growing up to six plants/person (three mature) in your residence is legal in DC now. No backyard growing.

The 2016 Presidential election has the possibility of setting back the progressive thought in this country for another fifty years. All it takes is Republicans elected to senate and presidency and a couple of Supreme Court vacancies.

But short of that, our shared concerns here can be stopped cold if the wrong person becomes president.

Welcome to becoming a political asset folks, find something to rally potential voters behind or against and add them to your herd. The bad thing is as long as there is enough division over an issue to generate votes they don't want that issue to really be resolved. I suggest abortion rights and gun control as examples of asset management. Sometimes its not about doing the right thing, sometimes its just about exploits.

Gov Chris Christie needs to look himself in the mirror and see what's really wrong in this country and that's childhood obesity and the growing epedimic of diabetes in our young kids. Chis Christie isn't going anywhere, no need to worry about that asshole. Too much baggage from "Bridgegate" and he is viewed as a bully. He is also pissing on the third rail by speaking about entitlement reform with means testing attached which is usually political suicide.

I am actually encouraged by the bipartisan support for MJ decriminalization/legalization that I have seen so far. Yes there are retards like Chaffetz to deal with, and D.C. is a special case because of the Home Rule Charter, but we are going to win. The public is speaking on this issue and I really think its only a matter of time before we some some more positive gains in this arena. The following chart says a lot . . .
