I can't believe this discussion. @Coast2Coast you just don't get it. The world is not our oyster. The behavior of police and customs in China is not subject to any rules or expectations. We can talk odds and past events all we want, it won't affect what happens in your case.

I was about to fly out of Beijing a few years ago and watching a young Asian-American woman across the aisle from me. She had visited family for the first time and wasn't likely to repeat the experience. They hadn't closed the doors yet. She was watching the cops through the window and I got the vibe too: they could still come on board and do anything they wanted. She was shuddering and clutching the armrest so hard she was almost tearing the material. It was only when the plane was off the ground that she let go.

China may look "normal" but let me tell you something: it's only because they decided to try letting business develop. It has gone very well, but they can change their minds at any time. Look at the news - they just arrested an Asian-American businesswoman. A total reversal is unlikely in China, but nothing is impossible. They shoot businessmen who get out of line for "corruption" all the time.

The total reversal happened several times in Russia, it was called NEP, New Economic Policy. After a few years of trying relative capitalism they would reverse course, arrest and shoot all the prominent businessmen, go back to hard core communism, and the cycle would repeat.

The point is that a powerful govt. can do ANYTHING. Your 2 grams might be waved aside, or you could spend years in a forced labor camp. Or they could shoot you while attempting to escape. Or the present tension over Chinese hacking could lead them to want a bargaining chip, and you could be it. If a "diplomatic incident" develops, and the Chinese demonstrate how much worse Americans are, do you see the State department trying to save the life of an American dope smuggler?

In fact you should know that's one of the worst things about the present situation in the US. A cop can decide to treat your MJ as a medical case, or as a misdemeanor, or he could charge you with dealing and end your life as you know it. A pinhead with a 6th grade education decides the course of your whole family's life. Now imagine that on a grand scale. You'd be mentally defective to risk smuggling narcotics into "The Peoples' Republic of China". End of rant.

Anybody here got a retired dea dog, for testing purposes?

I'm old enough to remember the "good old days" of air travel. On domestic flights, as long as you could pass through a simple metal detector, you were good to go. I could have taken almost anything on a domestic flight back then with ease. The simple rule was: keep any weed on your person. Obviously, times have changed. The one rule that hasn't changed since then: If you're flying internationally, don't even think about it.

i went from san jose california to oahu hawaii in 2009 with 7 grams of weed. i checked my bag. i triple bagged the weed and put it in a gallon size ziploc filled with coffee. i then put the bag in with my toiletries. so anyone traveling to hawaii that is what i would recommend doing.

i feel like this is a whole new ballgame for me tho - i plan on traveling to south africa and macau china next year from san jose. i've read on this forum that New York and Atlanta might be smart to avoid. i plan on taking a vape pen and shatter and maybe a couple grams of flower. i think im going to put the stuff in a double sealed " smell proof " ziploc bag and then put that bag in with some coffee and into a smell proof duffle bag.

i am concerned that Africa and China might not be so lenient as American states would be if they found this small amount of personal stash. the only thing im really not too sure what to do with are the vape pens. i plans on taking two. one from africa which i will dispose of when im leaving africa and heading to macau, and the same with the 2nd one when im coming back from macau.

im also feeling pretty confident that my method will work. any suggestions on traveling internationally from people who have done it before or have useful knowledge would be welcome and as to what to do with the vape pens. im thinking carry on ya?

Dude I assume you are young or stupid or both.
I actually live in China in one of the places you mentioned. It can be found and quality is great but as a tourist you are unlikely to find it.
Use your brain or your trip may end very badly.

Im going to try the carmax container, but I am really in the air about carry on or checked bag. This is a domestic US flight. I dont like the thought of not knowing maybe till I get there with the checked bag. With carry on I worried about accidentally having something im not allowed to have, like sun screen or something stupid I didn't know I wasn't allowed to bring on carry on. Them then going into my bag and finding it. Please, some advice.

Then I emptied out the carmex and placed the wax inside the carmex container. then I put the actual carmex on top of my shatter and that's pretty much it. When I arrive I will just take it out of the saran wrap (as hard as it will be to do) and puff away.
Is using the saran wrap a bad idea. I just used it in order to keep the carmex off my shatter.
I bow to better knowledge so anyone who thinks this is not a good idea please let me know. Thanks

Just another note about traveling. I always avoid traveling with flowers. They smell more than edibles and concentrates. I was once told that they train the dogs to smell flowers and are more likely to pickup th scent given cooking pot changes it's chemistry and scent. I only travel with cartridges such as the ophos (used to use this) or the pre-filled disposable cartridges by absolute xtracts or other similar products. Just thought I would mention the whole ... avoid the flowers thing.

i recently flown to denver with a half filled pen and left in in the check in no problem. i'm checking into regulations right now and they say it is actually illegal to leave it in check in rather than the carry on. odd i guess..

Twice I've flown with concentrates. Once from Hawaii to cali and two weeks later from cali to Florida. I put my nail, dabber, torch (without butane of course) and pipes (half assed cleaned) into my check on. And both times put the wax which was on parchment paper, inside my wallet, behind my stamp cards and shit. Like others have said, make sure you don't pack your stuff that will draw attention to you and you won't get a second look from anyone there. I always have my, "I didn't know it was there" story as back up.. makes me feel better about the fact I'm one Fuck up away from not getting on my flight hah

I just got back from Cabo. Flew from MIA to Mexico City, and then Mexico City to Cabo airport.
No problems.
1) Shatter was inside the carmex container wrapped in plastic wrap. Then I put the carmex back over the wax. I put this in my check in with all of the toiletries ... carmex, sunblock, toothpaste, conditioner, soap, and all that stuff. blended in.
2) Did they check me in Mexico? No... I got a green light.
3) Who got the red lights.... Man I was looking around.... Mostly the Mexican people were getting checked..> Looks like they check them for importing goods without paying Duties.... So they were checking alot of the locals....
4) I did see some other tourists being checked? What I observed.... Don't be stupid and put the stuff where you are keeping a bottled water or a half gallon of shampoo.... Stick to TSA guidelines... Keep only what tSA allow you to keep.
How did they inspect..Geez they opened up the people's bags and stuff and if they didn't like it they thew it away.
My pen was in my carry on luggage in like 4 different places.all separated. .. IT WAS A NEW PEN... don't take a pen u have used...

Wasn't hard at all... I did have $500 dollars in 2 different pockets just in case..... I would have reached in and handed it to them had there been any problems... Start with one pocket and move to the next... I didn't put it all in the same pocket so they wouldn't see that I had all that money on me in one pocket.

Absolutely have done it on a domestic flight. Had about 10 grams in parchment and inside a bible on my carry-on. The drug dog in line sniffed ny bag and went right past. Then hit an old Jamaican stoner behind me in line. (Denver airport has a ton of stoners).

I am fairly sure that flower product contains a lot of chemical markers concentrates don't, and concentrates are probably much harder for drug dogs to detect because of that and also because flower more easily releases odorants than concentrates.

After reading through this thread, I'm beginning to think I should just ship my H-Enail and concentrates to my hotel rather than try and put it in my checked luggage. A next-day air the day I fly should be timed pretty well, wouldn't you think?

I go to cabo in May and might grow the balls to try this lol. There is no way I'm buying some weed from the guy standing on the beach selling stuff. It was some terrible stress

That's what I do. Just mix it in with all your toiletries.
