I use my small drink fridge. @FlyingLow , I always keep my concentrates in the original parchment and store a bunch in my jyarz(the big one). When I want to break up cold (or frozen shatter), i keep everything wrapped and flick the shatter in parchment paper from the outside. Since everything is confined, you won't end up with shatter everywhere. I like doing this because it gives me perfect sized dabs.I avoid freezing as it tends to overshatter and break up everywhere.... If I absolutely must, I will put in the freezer for just a minute or two.

My one concern is if cold has impact on the concentrate potency, taste, etc.

That's what I figured, have two decent ones. Just slow, like wet glass.I use a razor blade
Whatdya know, OldOyler's got a few nurse type friends who could get some nice ones...thanks @Melting Pot !Hemo"s clamped on razor blade
Warm the dish a bit to make scraping easier, and the heat helps avoid scraping and having hard shatter bits fly everywhere. Clean NEW razor blades with alcohol to remove any manufacturing oils. My last DIY runs were done on a piece of Slick Sheet (Teflon ptfe film). This saves me from having to scrape. Just fold and peel to consolidate oil. That's what I figured, have two decent ones. Any thoughts on whether I should freeze or refrigerate before scraping? Didn't really see a difference when I tried fridge or freezer for fifteen minutes, still slow going, like scraping tiny shards of gooey glass and I have to go dog slow or it'll fling.
Thanks, glad I at least had the right tool, thought maybe there was something fancy as far as tools or technique. :-)
Peace!
Well, no surprise it was you pulling my butt into more spot on practices yet again, @DieHard . Thanks. I've been using a piece of parchment like a "flick guard", not after hearing about those pads I'm not. Don't mean to put you to work, but any particular brand of those you suggest, links would rock.Warm the dish a bit to make scraping easier, and the heat helps avoid scraping and having hard shatter bits fly everywhere. To remove stubborn oil from parchment, try putting it on an ice pack (or any other frozen flat surface). Then remove the parchment and try the fold and peel method.
That indeed is the stuff. I have done multiple bho runs with the same piece even. I also use some type of clips around the rim of the dish to hold the sheet in the dish. I had one instance where the sheet got a bit stiff from the cold and popped out, spilling some of my goodies on the floor.@DieHard ,
Found this, realized you gave me a good description first post, sorry.
Just don't want to grab wrong thing. Thanks!

And if so, and all I have to do is line the pyrex dish with it...?
You're seriously righteous and did me a *major* solid.
Peace!

Hey, anyone know at what temperature will concentrates liquify? I am thinking about making some butter or oil from a few grams of BHO.
Please do let me know if there might be a more appropriate thread for this question.
Thank you and much love.
Awesome, thank you! I am thinking of putting the room temperature concentrates in the oil and heating them both to 250° (+- 0.1°) for 30 minutes to decarb the concentrates and mix 'em into the oil. Does that sound about right? Do I need to do anything else or will this work well for me?
Thanks again!

I do QWET extractions, (maybe @DieHard could chime in with any BHO specifics, I know there's something called winterizing), but for now here are some (IMO strong) basics for first time decarb'ing from the Skunk Pharm.
If you think it's impure, or been mixed with a carrier oil for vaping first, check out their polishing links, here's one to start:
https://skunkpharmresearch.com/getting-the-green-and-waxes-out-afterwards/
And I follow this process almost exactly to make my earrl or medibles (I don't bother melting into food, I just use it sublingual via small syringe and/or put into empty medicine capsule):
https://skunkpharmresearch.com/decarboxylation/
(Note that decarb and purge, per their instructions, is best determined by watching CO2 bubble production drop-off, so 30 minutes is maybe a bit long, especially for a small amount like you seem to be using, you might be done in 10 or 15 minutes once the heat is up to 250F)
Peace and good things to you!
It is truly difficult to down, the effects are however almost immediate (<10mins) and each sip is easier than the last. For me, medibles are about making deliciousness... I find everclear based stuff to be really difficult to mask in that regard.

... not sure if this would help, but in my experience ive added my BHO to coconut oil put in freezer,
thawed, re froze and thawed again and everything was mixed together
... I'm pretty sure i read freezing oil in butter/coconut oil and thawing makes it mix easier somewhere here on FC.
I tried heating both and manually mixing with a stir stick but did not have luck.
...the freezing/thawing method seems to be the only method that had worked for me.
