Collecting Marijuana?

I want to collect many different strains and crosses of marijuana. My plan is to visit different areas and pickup 7-8 grams of each good strain I come by. I figure I'd like to visit Amsterdam, Canada, and lots of places within the US to purchase a bunch of strains. I know it'll be expensive, but that's not the problem. My problem is.. how would I safely travel with all that amount cross-country/cross-continental? How would I keep the buds in good condition for when I decide to settle down with my collection? Ideas?

I don't think that it would be worth the risk to plan on crossing international lines while carrying. My advice would be to collect only from the country that you live in -- I'm sure you will find adequate variety.

I keep my own "museum" of about ten strains, about 5 grams each. I live in a non-medical state, so my collection takes time and patience to build. But I would highly recommend starting your own "museum" -- it really helps to curb tolerance to a specific strain.

And when you settle down, Bed Bath and Beyond sells glass spice containers for $1 that hold 7gs perfectly. Or mason jars. It's nice to have a uniform jar collection - it adds to curb appeal of the museum.

Sometimes risk outweighs the reward. IMHO...this would be one of those times!! Just not worth it.

If it is really important for you to be able to try/see all the diff strains you might consider moving to an area with dispensaries... I know I have

Only options I see are mail yourself under 10g at a time. Maybe seeds of strains?

what i type below, i have personally witnessed to be true - make what you will of this info:

someone once mailed a 3 small buds from cali --> pittsburgh for someone. they bought one of those bubble-wrap CD cases and just stuck the buds (buds were in a cellophane plastic heat-sealed package) in between 2 music cds (you probably dont want a disc with your pictures on it). that had fake names & real addresses on it. it went through no problem. obviously its not a "lot" but it worked.

someone bought birthday cards in amsterdam, put a few slices of hash in the cards, used fake names & real addresses, & mailed them all from 1 public amsterdam mailbox (out of 6 b-day cards, 5 were successfully delivered). i believe a tiny spritz of cologne was sprayed on the outside of the envelopes also. it may be better to not put all of them in one mailbox. also not a lot per envelope, but worked pretty well. the one that didnt make it got a letter to the recipient from homeland security without any further consequences.

just to throw that out there...that was probably jan/feb of 05/06...

im not saying your experiences will be the same as the ones described above & i do not recommend breaking any kind of law, but that is just an account of what has actually happened before...

Erm, the OP was talking about places like the Netherlands and Canada, not fucking Thailand or Indonesia. I'd far sooner be done for weed pretty much anywhere in Western Europe that the countries those shows feature, or most of the USA for that matter. And not just because of the laws, but the conditions of the prisons.

Having said that, trying to carry weed (or any other criminalised drug) across international borders is a really bad idea in any language. If you want a variety of strains, order some seeds online and grow your own plants. Or move to California (assuming you're from the US).

It's never a wise move to cross borders, international or otherwise while in possession of something illegal. Now if you really want to form a collection that you personally built and want to cross borders doing it, then dealing with seeds instead of bud would be safer. Though I still wouldn't suggest it, the benefits simply do not outweigh the risks involved.

Perhaps it's an idea to collect seeds from various places and turn them in to buds yourself once home?

I sometimes use those little 35mm film cans to bring a personal stash when travelling within the mainlands of Europe, but that's about as far as I would go and I'll trash what I have left in case I need to enter countries like Poland for instance.
