So I wanted a cloud bad, but I decided to wait and get it for myself for Christmas, a fun tool for the new year. I went so far as to stop lurking on this very site so I could maintain self control. So I waited and saved.

Now its December, and I come back to the site, and what do I see? The thermovape cera, I see the videos of the eo cera in action. (Sigh... okay... that looked cool. ) then I see another vid of it. (Damn... just damn.) Then I see three more vids. (I want, I want, I want, I want.)

To be honest, I've bearly looked at the clouds thread since I saw the cera. I know they're different beasts, but any recommendations are welcome. I am leaning towards the cera, thinking my Solo coversmost my flowers and the occasional hooking up the EQ to my bubbled when needed. Or, I could just keep using the Rev and my rig for the such and get the cloud as my new table top.

The Cera is less expensive at just under $300 for the "kit." The clouds on the damn thing blew my mind. If I were to get one, it would be the Oil Cera.

Quetzalcoatl,
I'm very impressed by the Cera videos that have been released by TV recently, and its tremendous clouds and promises about battery life are very attractive. Still, it's not gonna give you same flavor as a 100% glass airpath like is found in the VXC and Vriptech. You have a Solo, which is a pretty damn great portable in my opinion, so I think an at-home connoisseur vape with great flavor like the Cloud is the way to go.

Yeah that's what ive been thinking too. The price point is less of a concern, my figuring is it costs less to keep the cloud going based on materials used than the CEO. But ya know, I love to dab, and for the price of the cloud I could get the LL attachment for the cera. Decisions, decisions; life sure is tough sometimes.

Thanks for your input, I am leaning towards the cera.

You know, I'm not sure that's a given. For sure Cera has never gone through that test, so at best it can only be an educated guess?

Chemically, one is about as inert as the other. This is not your daddy's ceramic even, and even common alumina based ceramics are very 'clean' (it's the pores in them we need to seal to keep them safe for dinner plate use). In it's single crystal form it's used for fake diamonds....very convincing fake diamonds.

One might say it's superior over all to glass. Easier to clean and doesn't break for instance?

Having tested the Beta Cera with several kinds of bud and some bubble hash I'd challenge anyone in blind test to tell the difference. No flavor of any sort is coming from the material I can detect.

Hey OF, thanks for the info. I agree that ceramic is as good, perhaps better than, glass based on having used it in an other medium. Ultimatley, that may be the deciding factor, because I do have a tendency to brake everything. My EQ has had its heating element glass cover replaced twice in a year and a half, and idk about the repairability of the cloud.

I am more interested in the cera eo, but it is nice to hear that the LL works so well. If I get one I'll (eventually) get both; I never got the T1 adabpter for my Rev and now I kinda regret it. So OF, or anyone else ridiculously lucky enough to beta test the cera, have you tried the EO attachment yet? Is it as powerful as it looks? Can it replace my oil rig, in terms of power? I just would appreciate word from someone besides the seller if possible.

Thanks everyone for the input.

I say at this point, there is no "correct" answer. Take a hard look at your vaping style...do you need something on the go more so than a home unit? Do you like using water tools or do you prefer kicking back on the couch and having a few puffs? Cera, although beta tested, still has not come out to the mass market, so you do still have some unknown variables. Cloud has been out for a while now...I dunno, I predict you eventually buy both like the rest of us nut jobs :D

As to the glass vs ceramic...I doubt anyone will notice the difference. I like drinking my booze out of a ceramic coffee cup...tastes fine to me. :freak:

If you have a tendency to brake everything, falling and shattering is not in any way covered by the Vapexhale warranty(an "act of god"). It definitely needs a designated safe spot where it can stay all day.

Got to say though, after using the cloud for a while basically nothing else satisfies me quite like it.

TWEEK- I concur with your prediction, which to get first is really my question. Thanks!

SD-haze- thank you for the info, this does help a lot. I think I'm moving at some point in the next year, but until then finding a fixed place would be difficult for me. Also, I'd probably not want to move with it for fear of an act of God, or more accurately an act of my own idiocy.

So as of the moment my plan is to wait for the new year for the cera and then try to get a cloud once I've moved, hopefully right before summer. There are two reasons why I'm waiting for the cera. The first is that I would like to hear a few users comments, and the second and main reason is because of how long it took my Rev to ship. About a month for it to make it to the east coast in either march or may (I cant recall which month I ordered) with fed ex. I order a lot of things from Calif and it tends to be significantly faster for every other company, but they tend to use usps or ups. I just know ill go nuts waiting for it through the Christmas traffic, so even though its non-logical I will wait longer to not have to wait as long... I know its dumb but it's strictly a mental health issue.

they're both relatively new, the cloud although it's out and about it's still workin out kinks and such. I've looked into the cero it's the same deal, you can't really go wrong, go with what you want.

Trm11- I feel ya man, and you are correct. The problem is I want them both (insert smiley face emoticon here)

But I think I'll have to wait until I have an appropriate size home for the cloud, it needs space to run around with a nice big yard and a creek... or at least until I have a stable spot for it. Right in the middle of the kitchen table seems like a good place though.

If you don't care about portability, I wouldn't think twice. Buy the Cloud. Think about this: the damn thing costs $500 and many people have bought a second unit just to have as a backup in case the first fails. That to me means people are willing to spend $1k to guarantee they have a working Cloud at all times.

Honestly, I don't know why this is even a question. You either buy a vape that is just rolling off the manufacturing line that has not proven itself yet; or you get the mother of all vapes. I know what I would do (cause I did it). Get the cloud.

The Cloud has been undubitably the most praised vaporizer in the market, i even heard someone say they were going to sell his Cloud because it was too powerfull. :D

I think i would not pass on the chance of owning a Cloud if i had the funds to do it, you can always get the Cera later. The Cloud will make the Solo and the EQ almost obsolete at home, when you are using it alone. You can very well sell one of those or the REV before you get the Cera.

Someone get me a Cera and I'll settle this once and for all.

In all seriousness this is a loaded question that is impossible to answer. You should be asking us to just help brainstorm. Because what one person loves about the cera another will love about the cloud. Personally I love both (assuming the Cera functions as good or better than my T1) but there is no way to compare them.

I can't wait to get myself a Cera eventually, but consider a compromise between the 2. What about getting the cloud without the HT (if you have your own glass that is) and a T1 now that they are cheaper than even the MFLB? Just food for thought. Sure I've got cera envy, but I can still use my T1 even with the almost completely dead batteries.

If its anything like the T1 you can only wait for the price to drop drastically. I bought a T1 for $250 from thermovape. My friend waited a couple months and picked it up with a bunch of extra batteries, BRAND NEW, with warranty for $120 or something crazy.

The cloud doesn't seem to be dropping in price any time soon. I do not regret spending the small fortune on my cloud at all.

IMO you can't go wrong, but cloud first then Cera when its cheaper would be my plan if I were you.

Darkrom, my question is even more loaded, I'm asking between the cloud and the essential oil cera, they don't even work on the same material.

Thank you everyone for your opinions, I am excited about my eventual purchase of both, but I think I have to go against the last few posts and start with the cera. Portability is very much so a concern with my purchase, if not I would get the cloud and stick with my glass rig for oils. I like my Rev, but I want something more akin to a full dab when I don't have the time for a full session with my solo.

I believe the cera could be of more a benefit to me, while the cloud would be more just enjoyment. The cera will, hopefully, provide me something I don't have, while the cloud would only improve what I can do already. Also, I'm moving after winter, and I think its best to hold off on a new tabletop vape until I know where it's going.

FYI you CAN use oil in the cloud I'm told. Throw it on a cotton ball and vape away I guess. I wish I had some oil I'd be happy to try it for you!

Enjoy the cera I'm sure it'll be fantastic.

The Cloud is actually the best vape I've ever used for concentrates. I even had a Rev and sold it because the hits weren't as satisfying. I'll usually drop .05-.1 onto a bed of ABV, or I'll use the double cap method described in the Cloud thread and take 1-3 BIG vapor hits before it's gone. It's the closest thing I've been able to find to hitting an actual rig.

This post is a perfect example of why it is difficult to respond to the question: what is the best vaporizer?

I think you'll enjoy the Cera, and break a few mugs when you drop it on the table, possibly even causing a massive crash with the clouds that thing produces. :D

Hey DR you may have missed this post from ThermoVape. Looks like there won't be a drastic drop in price or discounts for their new product.

"We simply cannot afford to sell the Cera to other resellers because there is not enough mark-up in the device. We cannot afford to sell the Cera for any less then what we retail it for directly.

We do want people to know that instead of paying for mark-up, profits margins, and advertising budgets, when you buy a Cera you pay for exceptional materials and the time and care it takes someone to hand build and assemble each device."

darkrom

Great Scott!
Thats what everyone always says and then somehow there they are.

But I did miss that. Thank you. If they aren't selling to ANY resellers at all though, then perhaps one should avoid buying them from amazon etc if they should happen to show up. That would mean stolen more or less and I definitely have no interest in screwing over Thermovape!

Hmmmm I guess there is no reason to hold off any longer...once I get some money together in a bit I'll order.

Thanks Pb for posting, I was hoping to see something like that. It tends to be a sign of good company, cutting down on price fluctuation based on a better understanding of the market, at least in the tech world. Of course, this is simply my experience, and ive also heard companies make similar promises only to cut prices once they'd made back startup costs. I don't think that will be the case here, though, they're in a weird field of bussiness and are coming out with what seems to be a truly innovative product. All good signs, as far as I can tell.

Well I own a few different vapes and I would agree the cloud which I got in October is Very well the best stationary vaporizer on the market today not hype just pure huge intense vapor with modest amounts of herb I also put a little herb the kif then herb and away I go big clouds very effective nothing compares that's for sure.
Now again this is a stationary vaporizer stationary and because of this it has the power the science to produce such assize clouds through there heated glass vapor path.
Now I did order a Cera in November and reason being us that there aren't any interchangeable portable all glass pen style(more like LILO style) on the market which again are interchangeable and still powerful enough to produce high quality vapor on the go, either with the cera LL or the cera EO carts.
The videos speak for themselves just like how I bought my cloud through watching videos on this site and now here I go again to complete my obsession with vaping cause of health issues I'm singing that song oh (I did it again) oh well live life love lots and do what you to do to feel your best even when others can't see he Forrest from the trees.
