With alcohol in short supply I see many are struggling to clean their vaporizer parts. So, I will share how you can clean vaporizer parts or just about anything using water and dish soap.
The key is having an ultrasonic cleaner. These were costly in the past but, now a days you can find them for a decent price.
Here is a sample I just did cleaning my Crafty+ in a glass container with water and 2 squirts of dawn. I like to have the whole bath as water and just put what I'm cleaning in a glass container to save solution as I change solution often.
Parts I am cleaning.
Here it is in solution of water and 2 squirts of dawn.
The ultrasonic cleaner has a heater and temp settings. I use 70 celsius for just about everything. I ran this for 30mins @ 70c. Here is what the solution looks like after.
Here are the parts after rinsing in water.
Not as spotless as what I would normally use (alcohol) but pretty dam good for soap and water.
They actually use ultrasonic cleaners in the legal weed industry at comply with the stringent criteria's they have too meet while not using solvents. They probably use something other then soap and water though. Here is a video on how they clean stuff used in the weed industry.
Disclaimer: ultrasonic cleaning can damage some stuff. And some solutions mixed with ultrasonic cleaning can damage it even further. Nothing I have used yet has damaged any of my parts. But, It will be up to you to make sure what you are using is OK.
