My uneducated guess would be that you need 50 posts to make use of the whole section, no matter whether it's for buying or selling.

You must be an actively contributing member with at least 60 days membership, 50 posts, and 25 "likes" received to create a thread in the Classifieds.

• The system checks for eligibility at 20 minutes past each hour.
• Members who make low-content posts for the sake of increasing their post count may lose the privilege of using the Classifieds section.

I understand that bit for selling that's why I a cupboard full of vapes I'll never use...

But surely putting a wanted add shouldn't be as strict as I'm not using the forum for selling purposes only and I can't see why anyone placing a wanted would do it to scam anyone.

You'd be surprised at some of the things that have gone down in the classifieds section. And yes, that includes some "want to buy" posts. While there isn't any way to make all transactions 100% scam proof (this is the internet after all), we feel that our modest rules go a long way to make the section as safe as possible for both buyers and sellers alike.

Cheers stu thanks for the clarification. Obviously read the rules but they refer to advertising an item not specifically the full access to the classifieds.

You only need to qualify for posting privileges. People have joined expressly to answer a classified, done their business and left without ever making a post.
