choosing your vapes. can't decide

Hello,

i am in a tricky situation.
I really can't decide how to choose my vaporizers.

one thing i know is that i want to vape at home, at friends and outdoors. and i want to vape through water.
so the first decission is to own one or more vapes.

right now i own the VERDAMPER. it is a beast. its huge, its fragile, its not herb economical. you need room for it and it takes time to assemble and reassemble the glas parts.

a small mobile unit would be the magic flight launch box.
Both units, verdamper and MFLB, work without much technoolgy and seem to be very realiable since there is not much that can get messed up.

another idea would be to own only one "modern vaporizer".
for example the crafty or the mighty.

at home i could pair this unit with a d020 Bubbler and on the go it plays its mobile role it is made for.

hard to decide.
I am a bit worried about relying on only one vape that involves a lot af technology.
crafty even uses bluetooth.
on the other hand is it a small device that blows clouds and combined with a watertool it's like a verdamper in a much much smaller version

Verdamper + MFLB vs. Crafty/mighty + d020 Bubbler

I will say that the mighty is a beast and more than capable of assuming the role of a home vapouriser. It really does deliver very well.

Id love a verdamper but its just such a BEAST!

yes, indeed. it really is a monster to have around in your home.
you have to be careful and people will see it unless you have a wardrobe to hide it in.
It is very nice to use though.
big watertank with 700ml of water and the bendable connection between the body and the sucking tube adds a nice feature.

you do recommend the mighty over the crafty?

why? they both use the same heating element. the only difference is the battery size as far as i know.
mighty has a display and crafty uses the app.
heating time and cloud outout is the same, true ?

i cant afford owning a crafty/mighty and a verdamper.

would sell the verdamper to buy the mobile/home unit and the bubbler.
it is hard to sell the verdamper.
today a nearly new deluxe model went for 170EUR.

check out the venus Apollo there in Finland.
They sell the venus and venus Apollo
They use halogen technology.
Definitely want more than one vape, shit always breaks.
Need a back up
Apollo more like the mighty size
Venus has a fish bowl globe and a whip
Good luck
Hope this helps.

@Mr.Sifter i havnt tried the crafty but i understand the failure rate is higher and obviously battery life is halfed. I chose the mighty because of longer battery life. Probably get around 6 bowls per charge. That would get you pretty lifted!

Ps where you seeing verdampers at that price?

Hello vaporhaze,

This nearly new verdamper went in german ebay today.
Amazing price, i know.

So you own a mighty?
Why us the failure rate higer in the crafty compared with the mighty?
I thought they only differ in battery size, display and bluetooth.

The Mighty definitely has better reliability than the Crafty. It's hard to say why?? Maybe partially because it has more cooling fins to stay cooler? The Crafty seems like it can get overworked by heavy duty vapers, those who vape a lot.

If you MUST have a stealth sized vape, then the crafty is great. If you can live with slightly bigger size and paying out more $$$, then the Mighty is better.
Mighty heats up quicker, has better battery life per charge, I love the Mighty display/ hate the app needed for the Crafty.

I love the Verdamper from use in Amsterdam coffeeshops but it seems like a bit big for home use.

Get a solo and call it a day, dude

thats what is crossing my mind from time to time.
on the other side i read a lot of airpath (not vaporpath) crossing the electronics inside the solo.
this could be a halthrisk as far as i know in the solo.
on top of that i think i would struggle with myself not to have invested the extra bucks to go with the mighty.

mmmh,
solo, crafty or mighty with a small bubbler to replace the verdamper.
what to choose.

Or...

A log vape. They have less draw restriction and provide a more thorough extraction vs. the Solo.

Dont get me wrong, I love my Air and my Solo but if I am at home I like something with a little more power while being even more efficient with the material.

I would suggest a Solo or Air for a near perfect cost conscious solution & even if you end up with a dozen vapes I am yet to hear anyone genuinely state they regret getting a Solo or Air.

If you have spare cash I can highly recommend a Solo/Air & a UD. You may find one you can buy even cheaper in the classifieds but they work very well as a team .

I wouldn't recommend the MFLB to anyone, but that's me... it looks like most folks here, as well as anywhere else, do like the MFLB. If I was looking for something super stealthy I would probably pick the Pax2, but I haven't used it, only read some reviews.
MFLB is really very reliable (there is nothing to break), but the screen is very fragile (bad news), however it can be replaced under life long warranty (good news). I guess the MFLB is overpriced: if it cost 50 bucks that would be the right price tag for it.

Given your pairings and my experience I would go with the MFLB. However it requires attention during use and it has an unavoidable learning period that needs study when one starts with it.

Using the MFLB on the road through water has been addressed by the manufacture with three off the shelf options. I can only comment on the Orbiter through first hand experience and its a bit fragile for my tastes when used on the road. I would suggest that the bottle rocket might be worth your consideration too based on its basic design. Good Luck

The solo might be a good choice.
Buyers remorse could creep up from behind me.
Why not a crafty or mighty.
Lower draw restriction, clean air parth, no electronic robit fart flavour.

Mflb is funny but i cant take it serious. I want to press a button and be get going.

In my opinion, using the MFLB is a perverse way of having sex with combustion. There are more natural alternatives ;) Seriously, why not choose a more trouble free method of vaping? But... many people like it. OK.

I went from MFLB to mighty. IMO the mighty's in a completely different league. easier to use, cooler vapor, more efficient, far better options as far as temperature control. I haven't used my MFLB once since getting the mighty.

MFLB is pure conduction, so you have to shake it every vape. even with that, you always end up with ABV that's 'speckled' (light and dark bits) - the only way to really finish the load is to take some pretty bad-tasting vapes. with mighty you don't have to shake/stir, the ABV is always a uniform color, and you can avoid bad-tasting vapor by not vaping at high temperatures.

with MFLB I found that different strains required different techniques; some need a slower inhalation, others burn easily. mighty works consistently with every strain (and hash!) every time - pretty much zero learning curve.

MFLB requires a very fine grind. mighty doesn't.

you can control the temperature in the MFLB by the speed of the inhalation, but the learning curve is lengthy (see: 'different strains behave differently' above). with mighty you just select a temperature, then 'bump it up' as desired/needed - the trade-off is clear and easy to see: better taste and cooler vapor at lower temperatures, bigger clouds but less good taste at higher ones. this allows you to experiment with getting different highs from the same strain if you want.

as far as mighty vs. crafty, nobody knows for sure why crafty has a higher failure rate, but a good bet is the crafty's single battery vs. mighty's 2, making the crafty's battery work harder. plus: with mighty, no app needed. both have the great vibrate feature - very useful (for some reason, people often space out while using vaporizers...).

S & B will probably come out with a user-replaceable battery portable at some point to compete with other portables - people won't accept the high battery-replacement price (and 2 year only warranty) forever - but for now the mighty is good enough that the people who own them are pretty much always delighted (I'm sure there are people out there who don't like the mighty, but, at least in the mighty discussion here, it's pretty much 100% satisfaction).

if you want a well-reviewed portable with user-replaceable batteries, the reviews of the upcoming firefly 2 are great - but you'll have to wait at least a month for one.

the MFLB is great. I loved it, even though it was challenging at times to figure out what vape speed was right for a particular strain, but I don't think you can compare it to the mighty, which makes sense, given the huge price difference (especially with used MFLBs going for well under $100).

Solo, Air, or Mighty for portability. You could always make a battery pack for a log vape I guess... :D I do like the D020 myself. But different vapes probably perform better through different bubblers.

You could get a butane vape too. I have not used any myself, but there is definitely a following.

I read a lot of the review threads myself. Has not led me astray yet, but I look for longevity and lots of responses about the vapes themselves.

What does the mighty do better than the solo?

Is it the draw?
The flavour?
The feeling in your hands while operating?
German engineering with save materials?

What does the mighty do better than the solo?
It's much more of a pocket portable, due to size/shape. Otherwise, they're both good portable options and it comes down to personal preference. Keep in mind that the Mighty, like other S&B products, commands a premium price.
German engineering with save materials?
You don't have to buy German or pay a high price to get 'safe' materials.

Ive never used a solo but i get the impression it's a sipper not a ripper. The mighty can be anything you want it to be. It can compete cloud wise with your verdamper .. to a point.

Hey @Mr.Sifter if you're contemplating the mighty and have the budget. There is an interesting new vape just come out called the venus apollo .. have you checked it out? Its from finland.

From what you describe what you want the Solo or the Air would fill your needs. Well built and mobile it hooks up easily to a water tool. I would buy the D020 bubbler to go with it. Check out the Solo thread and read about 10 pages and skip over the stuff that's repeated. You can get the bubbler through DHgate.

All those folks couldn't be wrong.

I suggest buying at least one of each. Embrace Vaporizer Acquisition Syndrome (V.A.S.). Why be logical? The funds you waste on vaporizers could get you into real trouble if used unwisely.
