Every day I like more my chewy´s, it is so comfortable and fast! :sherlock: I've been enjoying the simplicity and comfort of the chewable from the day It arrived to my hands --> load and shoot to my vaporizer of the moment :science:!!

It is perfect for all my vapes !!!

Chewy 2 became my favorite grinder.
I recently worked with a patient, with severe Arthritis.
Both hands gnarled into disfigured fists... due to numerous surgeries and "fusings".
He has had 11 different bones in joints and knuckles fused together.
Fusing the bones together is a way to prevent further deformation.
He used a krups coffee grinder, but his bud always came out as dust, making it difficult to vape in the wrong units.
There was really no choice here.
I had to give him my Chewy 2.
I saw him giggle like a kid that just learned that the remote control opens a neighbors garage door.
He has had it for a week, and he has called 7 times to tell me what he has prepared for vaping in his Chewy 2.

After getting a personal recommendation from @cpk and reading this thread I ordered my very own Chewy 2 direct from the company.

It looks like @Splat has designed something perfectly for those of us with hand issues-I have tendinitis in both hands and play guitar for a living. Grinders are notoriously hard on my hands.

Not anymore. Can't wait to get it.

@stickstones Have not thought about the patient part, and the scissor aspect in a while.
Since I gave my unit to a community member, it had me thinking and considering your thought.
The "scissor cut aspect" feels less scissor-like, and more meat-slicer-like... in a force forward, and shave sort of way. The gnarlier the bud going in, the more voluminous the shavings coming out.
I have grinders that I have stood by for years, and they are still here... but I miss the Chewy 2 at least once a day. A Goldilocks thing... Porridge too thick, too thin...
I am currently working on the where-with-all to get myself a new unit sooner than later.
If you have a facebook account, post a Chewy 2 link here and there... post a link from a you tube vid... @Splat could benefit from this assistance

Can I say I don't use my Chewy2 a lot... it was even taking dust since +2 months, this grinder (as well most others) can't grind my 62% humidity stored buds and if I want to put some in the Chewy2 I need to let it to dry for several days on the top of a small heat source and when I put it in my Chewy2 it doesn't stay dry enough for a long time (can I mention I don't live in a 5th floor and my house is a old stone built house and some rooms are not very dry (around 75-80% humidity).

>Not the manufacturer fault cause it's an issue I have with all my grinders except maybe the S&B plastic orange grinder.

During the summer where I live is very humid. Might I recommend that you dry your flower on a piece of paper suspended over the top of a lamp/light for 25-45 minutes, then grind all of that and put it in a doob tube or other sealed device to keep the material dry enough to vaporize well?

You're right it's not the Chewy's fault or any grinder's fault-but there are work arounds available to you so that you could use your Chewy.

It's how I'll be using mine.

Just a thought - how about moving the battery flap to the bottom and the connector on the other side (saves a bit wire), that way those 9v li cells could be recharged without removing...
A little grip(nibble) on the top flap for opening would be also nice, but besides that the function is my favourite feature :tup:

Hmmm harder Q than you might think.
  1. I just like the overall feel in the hand. Good solid metal design and feel.
  2. Love the chopping action as opposed to a grinding action.
  3. Reverse feature by repressing the button.
Dislike:
  1. Battery door/connector. I feel like the door should incorporate the connector some how so you just drop the cell in and close the lid.
  2. Herb collects in blade assembly and sometimes requires a tap to remove, maybe a spiral ridge on the inside of the blade assembly to act in a cork screw action to encourage the herb to dispense as it is cut?

I'm having a hard time finding a favourite feature.

I honestly wish I was more excited about the Chewy 2.0 . I've not posted cuz I don't really dislike it, it's just more meh for me. And honestly I was expecting more based on what I'd read and told by other members.

The #1 issue for the Chewy initiate is the battery. It's just a bad way to start the relationship. Fix that and you will make the beginning of the relationship MUCH more pleasant.

It's not easier on my hands than grinding at all. But my issue with my hands isn't dexterity it's tendinitis. So holding the button with my right thumb is actually more problematic than twisting a good regular grinder is. I didn't expect that.

I expected an easier load/grind as well. And there's no way in the world that it holds 3.5 grams. I typically grind in 1 gram 'batches' and that fills up the chamber full.

The sliding mechanism used to hold the flower against the blade is problematic and I have to manually release it by opening the unit and pulling on it about 50% of the time.

And even though I was aware that I'd probably have to move material around in the middle of grinding a load, that's problematic too. And if push came to shove I'd really like a stronger 'engine' in the device. Based on videos I expected the grinding to be much quicker than I've found it to be.

I mean, the reason I got this grinder is because I thought it would make the grinding experience easier, and honestly that's just not the case. It takes longer and was frustrating at first. Less so now with practice-but it takes way longer to process a gram of flower in the Chewy 2.0 than it does in my standard grinder.

But I was born in the Midwest and live in New England-so I'm a cheap bastard. So I'll use it because I paid $50 for it. But I admit, I am still looking at my perfectly good <$20 grinder with chagrin while wondering what I could have done with the >$50 I spent on the Chewy 2.0.

And the one feature I do like about this is the grind. It's perfect for my Lil' Bud, Milaana, and vapcaps.

And just so I don't come off as a total ass; I think this is a really cool idea that will probably be the bees knees by the time there's a Chewy 3.0

OMG, this is so easy..... because it's powered and my old ass arthritic hands simply hurt when using any other grinder. The Chewy2 is the ONLY grinder that is PAIN FREE for me.

I can think of a thousand other features that weigh in second and third and so on but the best feature is that it is PAIN FREE. Not a lot of things in my life are pain free any more.

Other features..... The total feel of quality is very nice in my hands. The button is in the perfect lace and requires the perfect amount of pressure. It holds a perfect amount for 99% of users (about an eighth).

I could go on but you just asked for the best, not all. LOL

However, don't get a big head. If you had asked for the worst feature, I would have listed one or 2. ;)

Overall, an awesome product.

So, unless you have a problem with your hands, this is still a bit of a gimmick. I have only seen videos but would say a V3 with a decent motor, a couple of 18650`s and better feed might be worth a look.
Good on you early adopters though, without you we would still be using scissors and rolling papers. :myday:

I am with you there!
The 9 Volt battery is marvelous. The Chewy 2 can go on grinding for a very long time, before needing a new battery.

I agree, a stronger motor and 18650s would be nice for the next years release. The battery aspect is bad. Sorry to have to say it. I honestly prefer my Chewy 1 over the chewy 2s. I grind much quicker with it. The motor grinds better and feeds better. Plus, the battery part is a breeze as you dont have wires to plug. Just insert the 9v and click it in. They should of kept the same battery style from the 1.

I do like the company behind chewy as they operate as a normal company with regular customer service you would expect to get when you order products.

But in no way is this product a gimmick tho. Night and day difference in taste compared to newvape fine grinder using the flowerpot showerhead. I havent touched a normal grinder since. I no longer use my newvape pax loading tools. Or need a place to put my grinds after grinding. I just drop in a nice size nug, and its grinds right into the bowl.

Based on what you've said and the video I would have liked the 1 way better. Oh well.

I still say the only down side is that it's too small. A larger cone with more blades would be my foremost suggestion.

Other than that, this puppy actually works quite well.

If I remember right, there were some issues with the Chewy 1. Something about the cone wobbling or something similar.

The Chewy 2 works just about perfectly. I might skip the gen 1 version unless it was real real real cheap.

The new Chewy2 is only 50 or 60 bux. I see Chewy 1's on Amazon for 35 to 40 dollars. For only $12, that's pretty tempting.
