Discontinued Chewy 2.0 Portable Electric Grinder

I just used Chewy 2 with stickier, fresher bud,
It did it consistently, and in a fluffy fashion.
A nice grind for the SSV.... so I can mash the particles up against the sides of the glass wand with my stir tool.... until they are fine particles of ABV.
enjoying the Chewy... it helps me get more herb vaped so I can feel in a better frame of mind and body!

@Vitolo Can you see it replacing your other grinders or at least be your flagship and daily driver? Any downsides noted so far in your travels?

Very happy to hear that it chops up the sticky icky and makes it fluffy!
I can see it being my "go to" for this time, though I know I will need to revert to other grinders, considering time and quantity needed.
Sometimes if filling a HUGE chamber, and the bud is very dry, and crisp, I could see me throwing a few large nugs into a large 2 piece....
..but aside from that i will use this for applications not requiring a powder fine grind.
A fluffy grind does have sweet flavor, as we start our sessions, only vaping exposed surface area.
Also how long do you think you can go (in grams) with the icky stuff before things get so gummed up you'd need to perform a clean up operation.

Thanks again @Vitolo
With the fresher less cured bud (AKA:IckyStuff) Time will only tell.
I vape all day every day, but always n pre-grind enough for a while.
I will chime in here if/when things get gummy, and will describe how I dealt with it!

OK, that looks like more impressive results than videos I saw of the first chewy. Very interested in the chewy 2! Could be great for grinding straight into the FP bowl :)

The silicon grinder tube is ingenious! Not my kinda thing but I love the idea and can see its applications. What a great idea!

Chewy 2.0 goes on a 9v battery right?

Been checking it and looks like a fun grinder, I used to be the guy who spat on grinders and only uses scissors

Thought it gave me the most fluffy and coarse grind for joints

Sounds like the chewy is the thing for me but want rechargeable battery

Wonder if those are real? https://m.ebay.com/itm/880mAh-Lithi...28.m4335.l8656&_mwBanner=1&varId=441534956489

Or just gimmicky garbage?

Yes! But one battery is supposed to last a very long time! I'll stock up at Costco, or like you explore the rechargeable options. Nice to see your interest here dude!
Yeah the chewy guy has turned my opinion on its head after seeing the care and interest he puts into version 2.0

Alot of design chooses I agree with, but I wonder if the razor blades are replaceable?

Be nice if it was some standard size one and you could get new ones in any hardware store

I know! That's exactly how I feel.... the Chewy 1 I watched with anticipation, and it was a good attempt, but more of a beta model it seemed, that paved the way for this new Chewy 2. But the passion and emotion of Ronan is very impressive, and he's actually INTERESTED in constructive feedback to improve and make it even better. Kinda reminds me of the NewVape philosophy which I greatly admire.... forum presence, caring about your customers, constant improvement and evolution of product, and amazing customer service.

Apparently new blades will be released that will allow you to choose the grind consistency of your preference! This is to come down the road, but adds some awesome versatility indeed.

When the new sizes of blades are released, they will probably last you a lifetime.

Just a quick Q re: Warranty - https://chewygrinder.com/pages/warranty

Can you please clarify, as it says up top "Good for up to One year", but then parts and labour are both only 90 days warranty. Cheers, and thanks!!

Hi Hjalmark

Yes it takes a regular 9v. as long as you buy a good 9v like a Duracell ultra and not one thats been sitting in a gas station for a few years. Gives you about 10 hours of continuous grinding. it takes 10-15 seconds to fill a bowl so you should fill about 3000 blows per battery.

Yes the blade is replaceable. It is magnetic and is easy to pop in and out. The blade should last a long time. You can also sharpen the blade with a little file if you want. A customer email me to say he sharpen his blade with a file and it worked a treat. Maybe we should design a little sharpening tool.

We will be bringing out a spares kit with new blades and different size blades for different grind sizes. We are putting that together. We just need to do some testing first. I'll keep you guys posted.

Biohack thats a mistake. Its a 1 year warranty. Ill get that changed tomorrow.

I just took the unit apart to chjeck for "gunkiness"... after having used the unit for over 1/2 ounce of dispensary quality, fresh sticky strains.
The unit's blade assembly was very easy to dismantle and put back together.
  1. Once the cap ring is removed, the blade can be lifted ou (I used a hemostat, but with care and little pressure). The base of the blade assembly is super easy to get back in place, due to the hole in the bottom's shape. There is one flat side in the round hole, Making it able to lock back in place only in the correct position.
  2. There was nothing to clean up yet.. no gunk, or tackiness that I felt needed Iso treatment.
Love the Chewy 2.

I just picked up the Chewy 2.0 Deep Green. I'll be gifting it to someone with limited wrist mobility. Hopefully they'll be as pleased as the first few reviews.

To those considering ordering rechargeable 9v batteries. Do NOT waste your time with anything but Energizer or Duracell. Most don't even come close to the rated specifications. Quality control when it comes to off brand batteries is a total shit show.

I personally use Energizer, listed below. I've been quite pleased over the years.

Hi, the Chewy 2 looks awesome. I could do with something like this rather than a traditional hand grinder due to poor mobility in my hands... just a couple of questions,

1) How easy is it to press the button? I know it sounds weird but I have very little strength to do this... is it very easy? i.e. very little pressure or does it take a lot? Just a thought but has anyone considered a trigger or dial button for people like me?

2) How much does the unit vibrate when grinding? Again, not an issue for the able bodied but vibrations can be a nightmare with nerve based pain.

Thanks

Just had a look at that rechargable 9v. Looks very interesting. I think Im going to have to get one and test it.
Haha yeah be awesome, was thinking about getting one for the smoke alarm, but first I would check it actual capacity and how well it discharges ... maybe get one to take apart, practically a completed circuit + battery to hack into my headlamp :D

Really hate when they design flashlights with 3x batteries and the chargers are design to take 2 or 4 batteries

Reason I really like your chose of batteries ;)

With great pain in wrists, and very weak pincher grasp with thumb, I find the button to be effortless to press, using my thumb.

It does not vibrate at all.
It is a gentle hum that I hear more than feel.

I pray that you find my recommendation of this tool to be an appropriate one, should you decide to pull the trigger!

Color me interested. Especially after Vitolo gives it praise. Good price point, too. I've been using no grinder for a while cause I hate twisting and cleaning them all the time...
Also, my dog hates how the grinder squeaks sometimes when grinding... Seems to hurt his sensitive ears.

Some presies got delivered yesterday and some today. Can't wait to hear your feedback. I'm pretty excited to see what you guys think and hope you have the same expreinace as Vitolo.

I can't wait! My wrists/forearms are killing me! I simply cannot use conventional twist style grinders anymore, and after just purchasing 3 Kannastor grinders, they are all being sold. It was my last kick at the can, so really hoping the Chewy 2 works out for me....all I need is a nice medium consistency...I don't like super fine, or super coarse, just a nice middle ground, which is apparently what the Chewy 2 is good at!

Thanks @Splat i'm really hoping this one is a game changer for the grinding world, because for a certain demographic, it is GREATLY needed! Appreciate the innovation on bringing this to market, and again for your presence and support here on FC.

Received my Chewy yesterday along with a Chube as well , at 1st i had no clue what the Chube was , i had to look it up , it is pretty cool and i look forward to giving it a try. As for the Chewy i put roughly 1g through it so far just to test as it was pretty late. It worked just as expected , loaded up a nice big nug that was semi dry , closed the lid and pushed the mechanism that houses the spring to somewhat compact my flower against the grinder blades. Hit the button and to my surprise it was the perfect consistency for my vapes. Super simple to use and great for small amounts . I grinded right into my vape. Look forward to getting to know it more and will post some pictures when i can and some more info as i go along. Thank you @Splat for such a nice product that definitely fills a niche. I think it would make a nice compliment to anyone's main grinder .
