Can't decide which vape; vape virgin.

Hey guys I read so many different posts and reviews regarding many models and I have narrowed it down to these three because of their size and sleekness.

I never vaped before but I want to get one for when I'm out and about.

I narrowed it to the Pax, inhalator Xp and the new ascent.

My main concern is stealth, sleekness and of course good vapour.

Will the high be different between models or do they all get you just as baked?

Regarding the pax being conduction does that also mean it will smell more and use up herb more?

The Pax definitely smells, especially at the highest temperature setting, and if efficiency and conservations are your concern, I wouldn't recommend it.

The PAX will eat through your material pretty fast...and it does smell if you are a fan of higher temp vaping. Lots more maintenance than the other two from what I gather...you can do oils in the ascent if that makes a difference to you.

Well I'm used to smoking regularly and I go through herb quick would the pax use up more than a bong ?

I think they are all in the same price range more or less. PAX smells more because it is pure conduction. The load is always cooking as long as you have it on...so that emits a stronger smell, as well as chews through your load.

3) If its off, its not creating vapor. When its on, it is. It holds it in the oven fairly well, but will leak out a bit if left on too long. Eventually it will just condense

BTW only a few reviewers have the Ascent right now. Has not yet been released.

When ppl use higher settings does it burn more htc or get you higher? Or is it just preference of smoke ?

Yea the ascent looks very promising but I'm not gonna lie that pax is a beauty so sleek.

I do like that it can do oils I have never tried but there's a first time for everything.

Can you do hash in a pax?

There are certain actives that boil off at higher temperatures, yes. Take a poke around the forum, there is tons of good info in that regard. Usually you get more of a head high on lower temps, depending on strain of course. Higher temps tend to be better for pain relief and sleep, etc.

All three vapes will hit high temps, so you will have the option of various temp settings. PAX only has three. I can't recall the range on the other two. You can sandwich kief and softer hash in between herb with the PAX.

The Pax smells while heating up on the medium setting, where I always used it, every time. That was how I would know it was ready to hit if I wasn't watching the light...I'd smell weed in the air and knew it was baking it.

I do not have a lot of experience with different portables, but the biggest reason I ended up getting rid of my Pax was because it was eating through my flowers too quickly. I was using only my older/lower grade buds in it at first (and don't get me wrong, it does the job!), but then I ran out of that and only had the top-shelf I normally buy. And I found that I rarely wanted to put that much top shelf into an oven that size when you can get one good-tasting session, max. If you decide you don't want to roast the whole oven, too bad...even if you turn it off and pocket it, the taste will never be the same thereafter.

My other portable is a Solo, which I love. The taste is 100 times better than the Pax, and it's definitely better at conservation.

Vapor can flow out of the mouthpiece of the Pax in the beginning of the session...I used to put my finger over the opening to stop any loss. That issue would go away for me after the first 5-6 hits.

I found that one Pax oven would give me a 15 minute or so session. Taste would diminish after the first 5-6 hits. The last few would usually be slightly disgusting. The medium setting (orange) would give me pretty dark ABV...I never found stirring necessary. The high setting (red) would give me very dark ABV and sometimes "scorch" the oven. I never used the high setting after the first few weeks I owned it. Just yuck.

Any vaporization will conserve more than combustion.

In my experience with vapes, using a water pipe tends to eat through your bowl faster (if only because you can take bigger hits) than direct draw. It's hard to directly compare the Pax because I would use a much bigger amount in that oven than I would in a water pipe bowl.

I'm curious about the Ascent. It sounds like the taste is better than the Pax.

I have never vaped before I am a heavy smoker tho but I want a vape for when I'm out and about and to try it.

I would like to be able to try all settings or atleast get the most I can out of the bud, and to see what the hype about vaping is very curious and excited lol.

Regarding the taste of higher temps would it still be less "harsh" compared to a bong? I do love the smell and taste of weed.

Vapes vaporize, not burn (unless you mess up)..and at the highest acceptable temp, you are getting everything out of your bud, so no worries there...minus all the bad stuff you would have gotten from smoking.

If you want variety in temps, then PAX is probably not a great choice...it only has three temp setting.

As to flavour, your herb will taste way better in any vape compared to smoking.

Since the paxs highest setting is 410 would that be enough to get the most of the bud or would a higher setting be required?

The PAX does a good job of vaping the bud dry at high temp, so you wouldn't have anything worth smoking. Pretty sure it's the same with the highest settings on the other two vapes as well.

The only advice I can give you is not to buy any vaporizer because of how it looks. I would go into the product threads of each of the three vapes you're looking at and read at least 10-20 pages. You'll usually get a decent feel for how happy people are with their purchases, or not. You'll also get some idea about the maintenance required, issues, or other drawbacks.

I agree that the Pax is a fantastic looking device. I won't lie, I loved mine. It is the device that helped me quit smoking and start vaping. That said, I ended up selling it after just three months because after buying a plug-in vape, an O-PHOS pen for waxes/oils, and an Arizer Solo, I just wasn't using it anymore. I wouldn't buy it again--but I have looked at both the Inhalator XP and the Ascent with more than just casual curiosity.

Everyone is different (which is why there is no "best" or "perfect" vape), but as someone who owned a Pax for three months, I just wouldn't necessarily recommend it. The other thing to keep in mind is cleaning/maintenance. When I used the Pax as my daily driver, I had to clean it every other day. Even when I didn't, I found it really needed to be cleaned every six sessions or so to keep it running smoothly. Cleaning it is not a huge deal, but when you're doing it constantly, it gets annoying. At least it did for me.

It seems as if the cleaning and maintenance of the pax is it's main problem which is a big thing and yea I do understand it might get annoying. Just as pipes get harsh quick and cleaning them all the time can be annoying.

One vape that I think is a great first unit , and I know it doesn't get a lot of love around here is the WISPR .
I've had one for nearly 2 years now and it's still going strong . mine is flawless always has started on one or two clicks , gives me clouds , super easy to maintain .
Maybe not "sleek" but it can be hidden in the back pocket of my Levi's . Although I haven't used a WISPR 2 It seems to address problems people had early on .
Mine has vaped a whole lot of bud and kept me happy . it still gets used more then my DV or NO2 when I wanna do a session or am passing it around with more then one other person .

Just thought I'd throw that out to you after a killer session with my trusty WISPR .

It runs on butane (not an open flame ) ppl had ignition problems and for a while leaking from the valve stems . I bought mine the day Puffitup put it up on their website and have never had a problem .
