I’m tired of this BS, along with states that don't allow flowers and make medical patients use a more expensive product such as oils - like Florida.
........................................................................................
Minnesota also does not allow flowers, only the high priced processed products.
Only two suppliers, each with their own monopoly territory.

Leafline Labs has their 1200 mg oil for only $228.89. So even though we have a med program, their prices are obscene!

Holy shit, that really is obscene! That's nearly 10x what the price should be. Too many politicians/companies saw cannabis as a way to cash in, and in some states passed laws that really cripple themselves in medical sense.

Hope your laws/prices turn around sometime soon!

States not allowing flower is absolutely idiotic.

Don't think that isn't the future for Amazon. We only HOPE they use BB guns...

Back on topic, what do y'all think will happen to the fight against legal cannabis if Sessions is tossed? I suspect all the President would really care about would be trying to stop Mueller and his hate for cannabis might take a back seat.

I honestly can't imagine the President is stupid enough to go after legal weed in any way, because it would be political suicide. But I'll admit, stupid could very well be on the menu.

Last year, the White House Press Secretary said to expect moves against Recreational markets. Since nothing big had happened, I thought we were in the clear. But now Dear Leader has convened a
Committee to Deceive America about marijuana. That definitely LOOKS like a preamble to a war on weed.

They can cherry pick data to try and paint legalization in a negative light.... then the raids can start. Or more likely, they can simply send out a memo to US Attorneys announcing that they should start prosecuting businesses operating in violation of Federal Law. Just the mere threat of enforcement could wreak havoc.

I can already see the speech "Have you seen the news on this weed stuff??? It's a bad deal! Look at Colorado! Crime! WAY up. We gotta stop this Folks! The Democrats...Cryin' Chuck Schumer... they want this stuff everywhere! Can you believe it?? This weed stuff... it's horrible for America. I say that VERY STRONGLY! BELIEEEVE Me"

Investors get spooked. Dispensaries start closing out of fear.

I REALLY don't think anything this stupid could happen. But it's in the realm of possibility.

If there’s anything we all fully understand now, it’s that anything’s in the realm of possibility in Trumpland.

EDIT: I’m just saying that since the ‘16 election, I cannot say that anything is OUT of the realm of possibility in America anymore. Just your faux-tweet made my stomach hurt, so real. Can’t believe this train wreck is really happening...and it ain’t even close to over.

LOL Somehow, I still let myself get shocked. I don't know why

I'm also shocked that Trump's Committee to Deceive America About Weed didn't get more coverage. The fact we are paying for a sham study, where committee members are specifically told to report back with findings that paint Legalization in a negative light, is appalling to me.

It's yet another callback to the Nixon era. Except Nixon's Shafer Commission concluded, after looking at actual EVIDENCE, that marijuana should be decriminalized. Well... Trump isn't making Tricky Dick's mistake. Start with the conclusion you want, then work backwards to "evidence".

You have no idea how badly I want to take offense and defend my country on this. Sadly I can only hang my head in shame.

We WILL fix it. But it is NOT gonna be pretty. And we will need all the help we can get, and some patience from the rest of the world...

I couldn't imagine that America was foolish enough to elect Donald Trump to ANY govt position let alone President. How did THAT go...

Personally I am very jazzed about this program. I don't have an opioids prescription myself but I know a few folks who do and I will encourage them to get in this program here in Illinois ...

Medical Cannabis Patient Registry Program
On August 28, 2018, the Opioid Alternative Pilot Program (Public Act 100-1114) became effective. While certain provisions can be implemented immediately, there is significant work which must be completed before the program starts. The Act requires IDPH and the other agencies involved in the program to adopt emergency administrative rules by December 1, 2018. IDPH will also have to make changes in the registration process to implement the Opioid Alternative Pilot Program. The provisions of P.A. 100-1114 which became effective immediately are:

  • Patients and Designated Caregivers applying for a Medical Cannabis registry card do not need to submit fingerprints or consent to a background check as part of their application.
  • No business or person may charge patients for help filling out applications. If a patient needs help with the application process, they visit a participating local health department for free help. Many medical cannabis dispensaries can also help a patient fill out the application at no charge.
  • Certifying physicians are required to have a relationship with the patient established at a physician’s office, hospital, or other healthcare facility and the physician must have an ongoing responsibility for the patient’s assessment, care, and treatment.
Please watch this webpage or check the Statewide Medical Cannabis Program website www.mcpp.illinois.gov regularly for program updates as we work to implement this new initiative.

while reading this I'm thinking how nice it would be to have a Federal version of exactly that ... living in a dream world

FL DoH regulatory shenanigan update: Currently our 70 day ceiling for THCmg is 14,000 per (edit each of) 2 routes of administration. Rumors fly that this revisiting and renegotiating is the beginning of the end.

https://www.flrules.org/gateway/notice_Files.asp?ID=20760733

The Department of Health announces the convening of a negotiated rulemaking proceeding to address daily dose amounts and equivalent dose amounts for each allowable form of marijuana dispensed by a medical marijuana treatment center. The purpose of the negotiated rulemaking is to draft a mutually acceptable proposed rule.

SUBJECT TO BE ADDRESSED: The subject and scope of the rule to be developed through negotiated rulemaking will be the regulatory structure for daily dose amounts and equivalent dose amounts for each allowable form of marijuana.

This is to implement Florida Statute 381.986(4)(c)

(c) A qualified physician may not issue a physician certification for more than three 70-day supply limits of marijuana. The department shall quantify by rule a daily dose amount with equivalent dose amounts for each allowable form of marijuana dispensed by a medical marijuana treatment center. The department shall use the daily dose amount to calculate a 70-day supply.

For a Red State, Florduh sure likes a lot of onerous regulation. Except when it comes to literally turning the ocean red.

But sick people? Let’s have them jump through as many hoops as humanly possible.

Cannabis remains a second class medicinal product in Florida but it will change eventually.

I take a prescription statin for cholesterol and my wife takes so many prescribed meds our bathroom counter looks like a CVS. Most of the meds we've been prescribed can be ordered by calling the pharmacy when we run out AND we typically are prescribed a years worth including refills. Many of the wife's meds can seriously hurt you if not taken as directed. The only prescription my wife has that requires a every 70 day re-up, in person appointment and new script is cannabis.....which just happens to be the least dangerous of them all by a wide margin......like I said.....second class.

I can't wait till the doctor's have to deal with cannabis like a real medicine or better yet it goes recreational. There will be so many of these appointment pumping, money grubbing, fakes that won't be able to use cannabis to pump up their appointments/practice with those "paid" every 70 day visits. Some of them may have to go back to their previous opiate based "pain management" practice.

The United Nations Will Conduct a First-Ever Review of its Cannabis Ban

A decision by the United Nations could instigate a review of cannabis scheduling in the United States.
AUG 20, 2018

"The United Nations has announced that it will conduct a critical review of cannabis to determine whether it should continue to be banned under international law, Marijuana Moment reports.

The review, which is expected to begin in November, will be conducted by the World Health Organization’s Expert Committee on Drug Dependence"

https://herb.co/marijuana/news/united-nations-reviews-cannabis-ban/

This shit has taken so long that even as it's looking slightly more likely, my spirit and enthusiasm for change is starting to weaken a little.
Fingers crossed i guess?!

The Article mentions the FDA being forced to consult the public for input early this year, and in my own EU country the public were also consulted this year for their thoughts on changes in drug legislation and prohibition.

Now I go to DocMJ and pay only 169.00 every 210 days and get 28,000mg THC rec every 70 days. This company is exploding with new patients who leave the scum bags. I'm also writing to the OMMU for their dosage review committee.

Elan Musk takes a couple mouth pumps on a blunt during a TV interview after the interviewer breaks it out and lights up. He's in a legal state and even says "It's legal here right?" before hitting the blunt. Elan is quite the polarizing individual and more so lately BUT IMO the real take away here is, once again....cannabis as a second class citizen. If it had been a shot of vodka nobody would have batted an eye. I get that the air force does business with Elan and cannabis is federally illegal so there is something to lean on but even before the federal side was brought up .....

Elan taking that hit was an OMG moment for many because of his responsibility as CEO because.... heaven forbid someone who is supposed to be making important decisions like that uses cannabis. Ridiculous.....

I watched the entire 2 hour and 37 minute youtube interview out of personal interest for Elon Musk. The guy is pretty genious and if you watch the youtube interview with Joe Rogan you will see that Elon does consider himself just another guy, but one that has really good ideas and many more than a regular person.

Elon and Joe were drinking whiskey the entire interview pretty much and even discussed it being a great whiskey. No one cared. I only saw Elon take a single puff, but maybe he took one or two when the camera was on Joe. The guy had to be way more buzzed from the whiskey and admitted he felt no difference from the pot he inhaled moments after taking the hit when Joe asked him about it.

They joked because they knew it could be made into a big deal but at the end of the day Elon has some bigger issues going on at Tesla and this is just another way for media to stir things up and make money off talking about him and his possible problems.

Tesla stock went down by 6 points the following day. It’s all the conservatives reaction. His stock will go back up. It’s too bad that he can’t relax and smoke a joint, he’s just not able to do that in public unforetunatly. Some people are really prejudice against weed even here in a legal state. I don’t tell folks at work that I use weed. I work in a conservative atmosphere. I’m sure there are some that use weed but they don’t advertise it. I tell my close friends.

I love Elon Musk, he is one of my living heroes due to his brain and his imagination and dedication. But other than the assholes shorting his stock Elon Musk is his own worst enemy. I give him a lot of room as, if he weren't eccentric he likely wouldn't be as brilliant. I think eccentricity often comes along with genius. Einstein had terrible grooming habits, for example. But lots of folks have no patience for eccentricity and that shows in how people react to him.

Fuck them, he is STILL my hero. If he wants to smoke a blunt on live TV in a legal state, fuck the whiners. He is changing the world. Just get out of his way...

And just FYI, the stock is up about 6.5% at the moment. This stock has lots of big moves up and down.

I agree he can be visionary but I'm in a place where I'm not giving anyone any slack for being a dick just because they're eccentric or weren't aware of the rules. Way too much of that going on in the last few years.
