Cannabis hangovers

You 100% pay a price. For me, I really think it has to do with interfering with certain aspects of sleep -- even if I only use during the day, the endocannabinoid receptors remain affected and just don't function quite right.

No, I don't. You may, as may others, but that experience isn't universal.
Yep. I have never had a cannabis hangover. I have had some uplifting strains keep me awake but only for an hour or so.

Edibles are a different story. And alcohol really impacts my sleep. So I pretty much avoid both of those.

Ok, if you're telling me that the day after getting super zooted you have exactly as much energy and motivation, and you find napping no more tempting than if you had abstained, then I can't argue with your experience.

Everyone has different experiences but there's studies that show THC/CBD affecting sleep in various ways

THC performs like the Anandamide in our brain, which basically means that more Dopamine will be left in our synapses. excess Dopamine in our synapses means less melatonin production, hence less chance to get into sleeping. I think what sends us to bed are the terpenes maybe. hangover can occur by dehydration maybe, or just the smaller amount of the Dopamine in our synapses?

"When dopamine then interacts with its receptors, it inhibits the effects of norepinephrine—which means a decrease in the production and release of melatonin."

I counter-act with melatonin before bed, but then again I have ADHD, so dopamine production and regulation are different for my brain than neurotypical brains.

I get weed hangovers bad. I deal with alot of numbers and can't even remember them. I have to write everything down. Now my one friend can actually smoke in the parking lot and go right into work and not miss a beat. I could never do that. I have cut back.

Same here, I tried coffee for a while but it fucked me up.

There are things we have yet to understand about cannabis for sure....I know people who consume insane ( by my standards) amounts, do little physical exercise and yet remain extremely functional.. but I think they are in the minority.

I was definitely better off when I was using sativas. The indicas seem to produce much more of the unwanted shit for me.... and I am talking top quality strains.

I don't think i have ever felt anything from CBD even when taking large doses. Edibles seem to produce very unpredictable results for me- the same stuff , same dose will be mental and racy one day, relaxing and super mellow another day . This is why many peoplewho try to use it for medical reasons (cancer , chronic pain etc) don't like it and go back to pharmaceutical junk.

There must be a way to accelerate the clearing of the cannabinoids from the body! Combining with cinnamon and myrrh has been mentioned but needs more testing. Another suggestion is omega fatty acids (mentioned in a thread I resurrected recently).

These scientific pronouncements seem to be of little use so far. Didn't get anything from melatonin either and it is far from consensus that any such supplements do anything or are even utilised by the body???

Huperzine A usuallt clears me up.
Try 400mg 1hr before vaping and see if you still get medicated, if it's noticebly reduced then take 100-400mg after vaping.

Just my experience: I vaped some fresh weed (sativa/indica) over a couple of days, ie a flower straight off the plant the day it was being harvested... super sticky stuff so I didn't grind it, just place it head down in the vaporizer at my usual 22:00hrs vaping time... I didn't sleep unitl 02:00hrs vs 23:30hrs, so super speedy, clean as a wistle the next day and able to go with 6hrs sleep. I usually need 8hrs min.
From a vaping perspective, it starts off very humid, then tastes great.
That exact same strain 3 months later after being dried and cured, gives me leg spasms/cramps if I've been doing sports that day and brain fog the next day.

I have another strain that leaves me pretty clean the next day, no idea what it is, but it is also looks like a sativa/indica probably sativa being dominant.

Moral of the story: what you vape defines how you feel the next day.
