I really wish I didn't have to start this thread. A close family member has been diagnosed stage 3 cancer, surgery already chemo starting before long. Of course I start to think about cannabis and simpson oil, even though I doubt it'll be tried. But it did start me researching it, and I'd like to share my thumbnail sketches of a potential treatment. If I've made any errors please feel free to correct. I'm just trying to learn, not be too precise at this point.
From what I've read the cancer protocol for hemp/simpson/hope oil calls for 60grams treatment. It appears that THC is the active ingredient in fighting tumors. So what is this hemp oil? As far as I can tell, it's good bud that has been extracted in solvent. Sounds like another name for concentrates, honey oil, wax, etc. I'm assuming here that simpson oil and bho are equivalent in terms of thc levels.
My back-of-the-napkin calculation is for six weeks treatment, 10grams oil per week, or 1.4g/day. I also became interested in spreading the cancer protocol between oil and flowers. For this I'm assuming 20% thc herb and 75% thc for oil (just for rough calculation, or around 1g oil = 3.5g herb)
Before I suggest trying this protocol, I want to try a part of it myself, so I can intelligently speak about it. I have pretty high tolerance, but almost a gram and a half of oil every day sounds demanding.
Starting tomorrow I will begin this modified simpson protocol. The options for each day are
1. all oil - 1.4g oil
2. 2/3 oil, 1/3 flower - 1g oil + 1.5g flower
3. 1/2 oil, 1/2 flower - .75g oil + 2.5g flower
4. 1/3 oil, 2/3 flower - .5g oil + 3g flower
5. all flower - 5g flower
Each option is designed to approximate thc levels of 1.5g oil. Options 2 and 4 look easiest to me. Oil will be dabbed or vaped. Flowers will be vaped. Simpson calls for ingesting the oil, but my assumption is vaping will be sufficient.
Normally I would ramp someone up to that daily amount, but for my self-experiment, I'll just jump in, as I am on vacation next week. I won't be taking a lot of time to find the cheapest sources of material or attempt to produce oil since it's just for a week. I want to see how difficult it is to function while taking this amount of medicine. Then I'll be in a better position to understand before I approach any family members.
Wish me luck.
