Can you spare 5 minutes a day........??

I've always been a big fan of brief but intense exercise. A good 'ol system shock does you good.

Yeah, but if someone isn't in good shape to begin with, a 5 minute intense work out can kill ya.

For anyone interested in starting up a cardio routine, regardless of how short the duration, please start off very slow and take your time to build up a base before overtaxing your body.

I walk slowly about 1/4 mile a day It's all i can do(carry a cane but try not to use it). 5 years ago couldn't do that at all and was told I'd never walk without a walker or duel canes/crutches.

:rockon:Ain't runnin' or jogging and takes me more then 5 minutes But i got to say use 'em if you got 'em and at least walk.

If I could have given 10 likes to your post, I would have.

At the track where I run, there's this 80 year old stroke survivor that slowly pushes his walker around the track one shuffle at a time with his caregiver close by. Now THAT"S an inspiration, as is yours, Haze.

You do what you can do, probably what's important is going beyond those limits placed upon you. Smoke 'em if you got 'em!.. But fuck combustion so let's vape!:science:

Start off with a 20 min walk 3x per week (assuming you have no experience)
Push it up to 30, then 45. Then start picking up the speed...jogging, to running.
Eventually make your wait into HIIT, ex: 1 minute full on sprint/1 min cool-down walk, repeat.

I have been powerlifting for several years now...
..conditioning is VERY important.

never neglect proper cardio

I think the key here is to never increase either your time or your distance more than 10% a week. That may seem a bit conservative to some of you, but believe me, MUCH better to play it safe and slowly build up that base.

I use a Heart Rate Monitor religiously being that my perceived exertion can be a bit misleading, especially at my age, but it's also a great tool to help monitor your workouts as well as monitor your progress. It's kinda like having a coach on your wrist telling you to either slow down so you don't burn yourself out, or speed up if you're slacking.

No, no, no...

You must drink a gallon of whole milk per day, as well as lift at least 420 lbs. every 45 minutes.
Wanna get jacked? Yeah, I thought you did.

:p

Yes most/some people should increase slowly. I increase slowly % wise when i adjust my numbers for my lift days. It saves injury for sure.

Running is great exercise.

Any CARIDO is awsome for the body!
Cycling
Surfing
Skiing
Hiking
Skateboarding
Even Golfing (Walking the Course)

These are all great however running is one of the best all around exercises.

I wish I could run like I once could!

If you can do it RUN!
No, no, no...
You must drink a gallon of whole milk per day
I would need an ambulance!
Coconut or Almond Milk is my substitute I love cow milk however I can't drink it!
Most of the professional and extreme sportsman are more careful with their dietary intake?
I know guys that run triathlons that vaporize after competing to calm their bodies down!

I can't run to save my life, never could. Not fat either, just not meant to run I guess.

I have been walking more and more to TRY to feel better. 1 mile walking was a big deal lately. I used to be able to hike 8 miles when I felt fine. Now that my back is fucked up I keep working at it. 1 mile is now my walking break at work.

Lately I've been going into the parks with friends and hitting some trails. Vapor always helped a little bit, but my portable oil rig is SERIOUSLY changing the game for me. Last hike was 4 miles. I hope to do the same today. Oil lets me hike more for some reason that I can't put my finger on, but then the act of hiking itself seems to help with the pain temporarily. Low impact too in the woods vs on the street.

Good for you, dark. It used to be that what was prescribed for back pain was rest. No more. The docs want you to stay active. Sounds like you're doing the right thing.

If you are going to walk or run, maybe you'd consider downloading this app and choosing RESCUZILLA as your Animal Rescue group? You'd be raising $ for a worthy cause and i'd really appreciate it :D

I got as far as Apple only. I love animals, but it'll be a cold day in hell before I own another apple device.

Me and my rescue dog would love to support the cause, but we both use android

Showed the youtube video to my elderly dad (who goes on regular dog walks) and he downloaded it. We've had 4 rescue [airedale] terriers and all of them wonderful!

Signed up!

Now my only question is will it be morally wrong or morally right to "modify" my data to suggest that I walked a bit farther to help the dogs? Do I feel bad taking from corporations "pools" to give it to animals, not really. But lets see, perhaps we can do it the honest way first :)

I LOVE the idea of the app. I just don't love the idea of "we will donate 80% of what we allocated because other ppl couldn't walk more" etc. But the idea is wonderful and I'll be installing it and going on more walks with my rescue because of it.
