Can Certain Members be Banned from Posting in Certain Threads ??

The title of this thread is addressed to the mods......

To put it another way, if a thread starts getting out of hand, can mods ban certain members of posting in that thread rather than shutting the whole thread down?

I've wondered about that too. It doesn't seem fair if one person ruins a popular thread for everyone else. Some folks try to remain respectful and others just blow past any suggestions by others to calm things down.

Yes, members can be thread-banned.

I don't think a public discussion about it is the way to go, however.

Just wanted to add a bit-o-fear out there since mod warnings and member warnings didn't seem to help.

Glad to see that thread bans can be used rather than shutting a productive thread down though. Thanks for the heads up. No more discussion from on this.....
