I've had the BCG for almost a week now. I'm a light user, so I've only grinded herb a few times.
So many good things here! My previous main grinder was the Santa Cruz Shredder, a beast in its own right.
My two favorite things, from a functional perspective:
- There's never any chunks of herb stuck in the grinder merchanism, even after grinding for only 2-3 seconds. Granted, I don't grind a lot of herb at one time, but this is still impressive. There was often a bit of herb that still needed to be grinded left in my SCS after 3-5 seconds of grinding.
- No more having to unscrew anything! Using magnets means I'm able to grind my herb, easily pack a bowl, and then slap the grinder back together in one swift movement.
Not having to have my experience interrupted by screwing the grinder back on is surprisingly really, really nice. No more "Going to go vape a bowl - right after I screw my grinder back together."
I'm not too finicky on the quality of the grind. I've heard reviews that the SCS's resulting herb is slightly fluffier than the BCG. BCG still has really nice grind quality.
I was a little surprised about how nice the herb came out, actually. I bought all 3 plates, and have been using the coarse plate to grind herb for my Ghost MV1, which likes a very loose pack. I don't grind much herb at once - usually enough for just 1, maybe 2 small bowls.
Putting a tiny piece of the plant on the coarse grinder plate, it just barely didn't fall through. I was worried the herb was barely going to get grinded before falling through the plate. That definitely wasn't the case - the herb was still grinded perfectly every time. Nice and fluffy too.
Overall, super happy to make this my main driver, and can definitely recommend it if it's in your price range!
