So glad I have all three plates but I haven’t played with the coarse grind yet. I’m still on cloud nine because I’m not poking and brushing with that GR8TR
any longer. Time to clean that bitch up and sell it. Not a grinder collector and once you’ve held the BCG, you’re not likely to want anything else. I love it!

So this thing looks amazing.
A few questions though:
1. Do the smooth sides seem to hinder its use?
2. Does anyone miss a screen between flower compartment and the non-existing kief compartment? If not why not?
3. The design seems ingenious, not having to worry about being ever so careful not to unscrew the bottom compartment. With that though, it seems an immense amount of stress and shearing force is placed on the quick connect fittings that secure the grind plate to the bottom allowing you to simply hold the top and bottom rather than the top and middle. Has anyone noticed any wear here? It seems like it would wear over time like a Phillips screw can get chewed up.

1. Not at all in my experience. I've spun it with one finger on the top.
2. Yes, but they've already announced they're working on it. When it comes out, I'm in.
3. I see no wear, after brushing off the kief lol. I've yet to clean mine, and I've got over an ounce thru it now.
4. I'm so impressed with this unit, when the pre orders come out for the larger unit, I'm in there too. And that's with full expectations that my current BCG unit is going to last a very long time. I love it and I want more.

1. If I load up too much (0.75g or more) it can jam and then my hands slip on the smooth sides.
- no issues with 0.5g loads
2. No for me. I prefer my Keif inside my joints, so I want it all. I have a large tumbler in case I even want kief. BUT: I have never owned a multiupeice grinder with a screen.
3. No wear noticed, has held up great. ~ 1/2 LB run through so far.
I did get the fine plate, but I smoke joints 99% of the time and it is too fine for me. Untuil my medium grind arrives I just grind upside-down to the desired grind.
Biggest issue for me is the size. It is a tad small for the size of joints I roll (~0.5g), and a bit harder on my hands. The thing is still as smooth as butter despite never being cleaned.

Start @ 9:01 min. Unlike SP, my preference is to break the bud in smaller pieces before grind.
Give me a couple of days & I'll get a pic of the coarse grind from both the final beta & the prod. unit up, as well as the coarsest plate I have.
@Grinders for Life, in answer to your question on VLF, my preference is for a coarse grind for all my vapes -- Ghost, Splinter, Splinter Z, enano & vapcaps. With a coarse, somewhat moist grind I get nice clouds for my taste & smooth vapor.
So apart from a coarser grinding plate, the only other change that I think would be nice (but not a must mind you
) is to make the top cover the same width as the base collection pan (which is twice as wide). This would result in a better grasp when grinding, which would especially benefit those that put herb through their grinder in chunks like Sneaky Pete did & those of us with big fingers. My thumb is the width of the bottom pan. Take another look at SP's fingers when grinding & what more width would do; and SP has small hands. Someone mentioned (in the herb grinder thread I think?) about putting some type of groove or indentation on the top cover for gripping which would work great, but it might detract from the aesthetics.

Just to be contrary, since I already have mine, I would much prefer the dimensions remain the same and I have large hands. The pocket-ability is a really nice with the current dimensions, it's a bulge but just small enough to be doable, and I would hate to lose that. I do have a strong grip, so that may be a confounding variable.

Although I don't have mine yet, I agree that the smaller size is likely better suited for the majority of people. I only want a large option because I personally grind up large amounts at the same time. I bet you'd be able to grind a ton with a large sized BC because of the way you can stuff and all the side teeth clean up. I have a large two piece space case that just always gets used when I've got a bigger load to grind.

I like the smaller height. And the difference in height between brilliant cut pieces is good, so you can tell which way is up. I use my engraving for that, and have to look for it. Making it exactly semetrical wouldn’t be ideal.
I don’t have massive hands, but decent grip strength and find it very nice as is. I like the smooth finish and like how you can grip the very bottom of the bottom piece, this allows for decent spacing.
I find I can overfill it in a couple of full grinds. You can put a decent amount in per grind.
Many GH chambers, or the beginnings of a perfect mix.
I’d suggest a silicone band might be a good addition to make the top piece a bit larger, but I’m happy with the size/grip. I thought I’d want a bigger diameter but I don’t mind it at all. And the height is great for the pocket.

Um, diameter was what I was talking about when I said I wanted a larger size. But as I said, I don't have mine yet. It is definitely a personal preference, but I enjoy the experience of having a large area to grind in.

Yeah I guess I was thinking about @Summer's suggestion when writing that. But coming from a large SLX I'm not too fussed with the marginal radius difference.
Being able to place bud on the centre pin more than makes up for it.
Definitely good scope for a larger version though. Maybe even massive like that Santa Cruz tank. Maybe even smaller too.

just discovered this thread couple of days ago. I’m kind of sad that I didn’t discover it when it first started being that this grinder is KICK ASS and literally in my own backyard! Looking forward to playing with one soon.
Ordered back in November, order was delayed but unlike suppliers I deal with at work Grinders 4 Life sent me the email saying there was delay within the original listed lead time so I have no real complaints. The grinder was beautiful. I ordered Hematite medium grinder with a fine plate added. IMO it’s not Hematite it’s more like blue steel in color, but I prefer the color to a normal graphite Hematite color. It’s absolutely beautiful.
Now my previous grinders were freebies I received with vape orders and a plastic volcano grinder, so what I am comparing it to isn’t high quality. This is the best grinder I have used, I never want to use a grinder with threads ever again. The grinding is so smooth and effortless, even with really sticky material that after the first couple of turns I can’t tell if there is still material being ground without opening the grinder. The freebie grinders I had took so many turns to finish grinding enough to fill the pax or PVHES air stem it was annoying. Not the case for the brilliant cut grinder, it’s a joy to use. And it’s so easy to clean, I just use a tooth brush and some hot water and soap.
I use the medium plate most of the time, but will switch to the fine plate when using the Arizer Air.
I showed it to a friend that uses a SCS and a couple of other grinders and he loved it. Just saw him and he tells me thanks, after showing him the brilliant cut grinder he can’t stop thinking about it and hating his grinders and said he is going to go buy one.
After using this grinder for the past month and a half I really don’t want to use any other grinder and plan to buy another one to give to my brother.

I've had this fine grinder for a few weeks now and, after second-guessing whether I really needed to spend this much on a grinder, I'm very satisfied with the purchase.
Like some others here, I was a little surprised at how small the whole unit was. I normally use a big Space Case for my portable vapes and a NV fine grinder for the FP. But after I ran a few bowl's worth of weed through the new BC I began to reassess my whole grinding procedure. I realized that I only need to grind as much as I intend to vape in the near future — I only have to grind enough for one session. The BG so conveniently holds enough for a few refills and it's such a pleasure to use that grinding has turned from being a chore to an activity I actually look forward to. More tasty terps, too, when I'm only grinding enough for a session. I'm using the coarse grate for joints and pipes (the missus still smokes), the medium for my portables, and the fine for the FP.

I am blown away by how quickly this grinder has been adopted by everyone who has tried it.
For a new company to come in to a market that is so saturated, and has been around for so long, and this quickly turn the tables on everything, is truly amazing.
I don’t have one yet, but come April I will.

Just used my BCG for the first time. OH MY! My 4 piece SCS is now dead to me!
So smooth grinding my nugget right from the get go with no effort needed at all.
Can’t recommend this well machined tool enough!
