Boveda Packs......

I started using Boveda packs about 9 months ago. I put my bud in, what is supposed to be, airtight aluminum Space Case containers. I then put one Beveda pack into a Mason jar and put the SC container inside the jar.

After 9 months of use, while opening and closing that jar about once a week, my bud is as fresh and moist as the day I got it and the Boveda pack is still going strong.

Side note........I used to do the same thing without the packs and my bud dried out in about 2 months.

It does, thanks. So even the supposedly airtight aluminum Space Case container is permeated by a Boveda pack outside, within the mason jar? That's good to know. Comparatively speaking, cheap-quality plastic vials should interfere very little while keeping strains separate.

Nah. Got 'em about 6 years ago at a pretty healthy discount so it's all good.

HI guys - just touching on the subject of containers, I also subscribe to glass jars made for canning and preserving. I personally like Bormioli Rocco's Fido jars. These are the jars with the over-cam locking lever....you've seem them commonly.

Now, as to Boveda...well, I may have made an error but not fatal. Fro storage (not curing) I bought 49% ones as I am very leery of too much humidity and resulting mold. For decades I was a dedicated cigar smoker (love dem cubans but can't have them anymore) and I have seen the results of too much humidity.

When these go south, perhaps I will buy 62% ones. But I vape and all I wanted to do is preserve the herb in storage. I take out a supply, grind, and dry in a pollen box so I kind of thought 62% was perhaps a bit much.

I saw where one gentleman in this thread used 49% also. Any one else? Any other views on it?

I have used the 62% packs for years. They always have performed well and I have never had a problem with mold or anything else even after more than a year in storage in 1/2 gallon mason jars.

i just recently bought the 62% and they have already improved the vapor production of my same buds.

I also use 62% exclusively and have some primo CO herb from 2+ years ago and it's better than the day I got it. Never have any mold with 62s.
My containers are very small, the JyARZ classics that only hold about 4 grams (?).
I fold over/ contour the Bovedas to hug the interior walls and the herb does touch. Never had any problems.

Never tried the 49% as totally happy with 62%. I would guess that your buds might just be a little brittle but that likely will not effect long term storage.
Like you said, 62s next time or get some now and try a side by side comparison of 49 to 62 RH

Been using 62% packs for years. No mold............no dryness. Perfect, sticky, smelly buds. And this is after almost a year of storage.

Agree. Been using 62's for a long time without issue. Ae long as you aren't putting freshly cut and undried or not properly dried herb in jars there will not be mold issues with the 62's.

I feel so much more comfortable having given around 3oz to my bro to hide from me whilst I am on a T break. I went with one 62% pack per 10-20g so fingers crossed.

I will say that these Boveda packs may replace my grinder as the single best purchase I have made & P4P everyone who keeps reasonable amounts of bud on hand should have a few in a sealed bag.

These are wonderful for long time storage, keeping your material fresh and moist, I even use it in my "daily" jar in order to keep the material moist before vaporizing it.
I like to vape it a little moist, making the vapor less dry on waterless vaporizer

I know boveda's can touch our material, but somebody knows what material it's made of?

I guess anything can break BUT the Bovedas are extremely durable. I've had my box of Bovedas fall from 6 feet onto a concrete floor, had a container with bud and Boveda in a dirtbike handlebar bag take 6 hours of bumps/hits, and have never had a Boveda break.
They should never break under any kind of normal use.

Great! That is actually awesome to know.

I have a tad bit more bud than my jar can hold right now and the pack is squeezed in somewhat tight
(but not crammed/forced inside)

Now i am no longer concerned

I don't know anything as I've only used them since early this past May, but seems it should be okay once you brush off the salt.

I have purchased many of these over time and the ones I have not used and some that I have, has gone hard.

Can you rehydrate these and if so how please?
