Hey everyone,
I would like to give an update regarding the Boundless Tera and the Boundless Technology brand. In regards to the Tera, we along with our collaborators have been running tests on both returned and personal units.
Randy(
@PuffItUp ) has shared with me a video of a working Tera that has been ripped open to check for any off-gassing or irregularities. It was found that bits of herb were getting stuck to the heating element and producing vapor on an updated Tera unit that had been shipped out to him. The video can be seen here:

Randy also tested and tore open his sample unit, that he has been using for the past month, to show if any deterioration was found on the Teflon AF 2400. Teflon AF 2400 is the material used as a buffer between the ceramic heating element and stainless steel spiral that sits on the heating element. It was reported that no discoloration or deformation was found

We have also received results from a stress test that
@stickstones has taken the time in performing. The following is a rundown of the test performed:
“Here's what I did to the unit:
-fully charged set of Boundless batteries
-set unit to concentrate mode
-started heating
-once it timed out I immediately restarted the heater
-repeated until it stopped going to concentrate temps (it was overheating and wouldn't do concentrates again until the next night)
-continued to run cycles like this on herb mode until the battery died.
-put in a set of fresh batteries a day later and ran a few more concentrate modes to stress it, but only did this for a few sessions before stopping
-a few days later I opened it up and found a rough spot on the teflon that wasn't on any other unit I opened up
-closeups reveal cracking and splits.”

These images of the Teflon from
@stickstones unit conveys that there is some degradation of the material after the stress test. I am doing my best to attain information whether the testing conditions played a factor in causing the apparent lesions. This is concerning enough to justify letting the community know the results; all Tera pre-order customers and all resellers will be notified of these results.
Boundless has the advantage to listen to the community and directly relay the thoughts or suggested changes of our units to our manufacturer. We are also users of our own products and share the same concerns with the community. Boundless has been in the process reworking the Tera to be able to function without any material on the internal heating element. We have been on hold with manufacturing new Tera units and will not restart production until the unit is functioning correctly without the material.
In regards to the brand, all of us at Boundless trust in our manufacturer and the safety of our units. We also believe in maintaining a healthy relationship and a consistently high interaction and discussion within the forums. Past internal issues initially led a chain reaction of rushed decisions and misdirection that is currently being worked out within the Boundless team.
The Boundless team is taking the necessary actions to prevent any rushed releases and to ensure that all future units will be performing as expected with health in mind. The first step towards restructuring our brand, with hopes to gain the confidence lost from some community members, was the decision to move forward without our former management team. Although the entire Boundless team has been close friends and partners for many years, the rushed decisions made by our previous management team has caused us to re-evaluate our product releases and restructure our team internally to be more aware of all manufacturing processes and steps.
Our team is dedicated to the community and will move forward in doing our best to regain the communities confidence in our units. Please reach out with any questions to
Eric@bndlstech.com and I will do my best to help out.
