Boundless Tera

I've searched this thread for an answer to this question with no joy
Because it is like asking, 'how long is a piece of string'. There are too many variables to give a proper answer. Things like temperature, type of buds, RH of buds, etc (I only use mine on a wpa at max temp flower mode and would get half the amount of hits per bowl than you do):myday:

At least there is now a starting point if anybody else does a search.

Yep, both my Teras are only used through water. I fill the bowl (both if I'm doing a dual sesh) and start it at at 400F. I haven't noticed any flavor drop off by bumping up that high and it RIPS. I usually get about 4-5 massive pulls (20+ seconds) then pull the WPA and stir. Then I bump the temp up to max and finish out the session with another 1-2 pulls.

If you want to have a fun time, sandwich a glob of your favorite concentrate in your flower and run on the same settings above. The concentrate doesn't ever have time to gunk up the bowl and after your first pull it's tasty clouds galore. I sometimes do this same thing with 2 Teras through a wishbone adapter.

I really love this vape and think it gets overlooked for others (like the Mighty) when IMO it outperforms (overall) most every portable at it's same price point.

Tera appeals to me for several reasons but why does everyone only use their Tera through water? Primary use for me would be portable, out and about.
i am looking at the tera (and s & b dosing caps) as an upgrade to my xvape fog (i use fury dosing caps with my fog) ... and yeah i use it for on the go! anybody have both setups (tera and fog)?

I know of at least one guy that likes to use his Tera dry more than with water (felvapes):uhh:
I think most use it on a water pipe due to it just excelling that way, better than most in that regard, especially with the modified WPA (x2 when we want to get silly):2c:
They can be had for about US$160 when on sale, great value IMO and if it was not for the V1 problems, it would be a much higher regarded vape.:myday:

Greetings, just signed up for the forum because I'm about to order a Boundless Tera and I have some questions before doing so...

For the record I plan on using the Tera exclusively with a water pipe (bubbler)...

I'd like to know what modifications I should make in order to improve airflow and maintenance/cleanliness... I saw some commentary from LesPlenty and others but am seeking some clarification on exactly what I should do...

Regarding the Crafty/Mighty screens - S&B sells them in sizes Small/Normal/Coarse - should I pick up the coarse screens or other sizes? And this screen is used to replace the factory screen in the chamber?

Is there a screen in the waterpipe adapter attachment that needs to be replaced or removed? Any input/feedback on that would be appreciated...

I'm also planning on using the S&B dosing pods... I'd like to identify all the other accessories I need to improve the performane/functionality of the device first before I place an order for the unit - that way I can order everything I need at once and not have to place and wait on a bunch of separate orders for things...

Thanks in advance for your help...

Drill the wpa out, 19/64 top, 21/64 bottom, gets rid of male option but opens up female a heap, then replace standard disc filter with top hat filter, I use an Arizer Extreme q top hat instead or 12\d16mm dome screens the same, but cheaper,

Extreme Q top hat;

That is after a 5 min flat out sesh, notice the green ring has disappeared.

I use a Mighty Fine mesh screen in my Plenty vapes.

How many hits do you get from full bowl? I seem to be getting more than I expect - 20 to 25 or more.

I found a satisfactory answer in a Reddit thread in which several users reported 15 to 20 as their average number of hits per bowl. Works for me...

Hey @LesPlenty ,
I’m currently getting ready to do the ”Drilled out WPA” mod for a friend but have a quick question.

Which piece are you considering the top?
Thanks!

has anyone tried the s & b dosing caps in their tera? i'm thinking of getting one and using the dosing caps exclusively.

I use S&B dosing caps in my Tera. They are a good fit, but are kind of snug with the WPA, sometimes causing it to stick out 1mm or so. I don't put any other screens in when I use them. The draw is better this way, but some particles will come through the holes into your piece.

On a side note, I'm back on FC after many years! I really love the Tera, it's replaced all my other devices. I made a mod to fill bags with my Tera, which I'll post soon.

I call the bit that goes in the vape with the o-ring on it, the top.
I will also say if you do not have a drill press, drill out in stages, small bits then larger until you get to the recommended diameter, this is the best way to keep the hole centred.

The latest version of the Tera has a slightly larger oven that now fits the S&B capsules perfectly. This oven enlargement was done to stop the plastic ring from cracking from the WPA having to be so snug due to it changing from a magnetic connection to the o-ring fitted version we have today.

Welcome back, @cypher3d!

So how was prison?

:peace:

Haha.I wouldn't recommend it; all the Vapes in there kind of taste like shit.

I've been holding out on a minor warranty claim because my device still works fine. I might go for it knowing the chamber has improved a bit.

I have to say that I love my tera. It was my first real vaporizer, after the herbva 5g. Since then I've bolstered my vape collection (Dynavap 2018 M, Lotus, Ghost MV1, Tubo Evic, Splinter Z, E-Nano, Volcano and finally, Mighty), and still find myself reaching for the Tera. I've put it up for sale a couple of times, then take it down after using it again. It still fits in with a larger collection containing some high class vapes.

I still bust the Tera out every now and then and I'm still amazed by it. I get great taste through the plastic mouthpiece and it hits just about as hard as any other of my vapes. It has some great features which in my mind, can't be ignored when considering top end vaporizers.

I dropped mine and the temp down button stopped working. Carolina sent a new one out, no questions asked. Great customer service to boot!

Hey guys,

I posted a thread in the DIY section with my tutorial on how to convert the Boundless TERA into a bag vape really easily and for $50 or less depending upon what you've got on hand. It only takes a few minutes and produces thick, dense milky bags of vapor. It beats the bag vapor quality of my stock Extreme Q easily. I've been using it as a bag vape for almost 2 weeks now without a hitch. When you leave it plugged in it works in pass-through mode so the batteries are a non-issue for home use. The bags are so very convenient! Easy to draw from as well since the vapor is pre-cooled.

I've had my Boundless TERA for almost a year and a half now and it has been my primary vape since I got it. The only thing I wish about it is that it could cash a bowl in just a few hits instead of a long session. So when the bottom plate started hanging loose a bit because the flimsy internal screw post broke, I decided to repair it and noticed the potential to very easily convert it to a bag vape, which ended up working like a charm!

Here's the thread: http://fuckcombustion.com/threads/bag-vape-mod-v1-0-for-boundless-tera-dry-herb-vape.43917/

For me the only problem with the Tera is the default mouthpieces don't do a great job cooling the vapor. I use the WPA almost all the time, but sometimes I just run it through glass with no water. Most of the time the extra surface area and twists and turns of my glass are all I need. Without glass I get a sore throat if I finish off a bowl within 10 minutes.

Works pretty well on a J-hook too, just dries me out too much that I get the throat tickles, same as the straight glass mouthpiece that I also like to use occasionally.

Hehe early Saturday morning testing confirms the Boundless Tera vapes unground nugs. Very satisfactorily as well! ~ 0.075 size ted neugent rate in the chamba. Excellent taste thru the plastic MP!

One stir once the vapor started trailing off, provided the largest hit of the sesh. MMM tashty

Is the taste and experience that noticeable?
Different enough to own both, I rarely use my Mighty through water, I always use my Tera with water. (the Tera comes standard with a WPA, that is how good it is through water.
The Tera should be on sale again shortly, it will be hard to pass at the prices during sales time.

Thanks Les! I might have to pick one up as UI'm really enjoying the mighty through water and portables are so easy to use compared to my Q with tubes and warm time and such!

Thanks for your help!

Was there a plastic burn off smell when you first bought your unit?

My fist v3 Tera was a stinker, mainly the silicon that held the filter disc in the plastic mouthpiece, my latest unit did not smell as bad, that silicon filter disc holder still needed a cook to fully cure it and get rid of that new boot smell. The main unit still needed a few burn-offs but that is fairly normal for any vape.
If you like using bongs you will like the Tera.
