Does anyone have any reccomendations of books about marijuana? I'm not looking for how-to smoke guides(are any even good?), but history, pharmacology, science, growing, culture, law, medicine, and any other interesting fields.
i was in spencer gifts the other day and came across a book written by one of the hightimes editors and it had alot of that information in it. i think it was the smokers bible or something like that.
Hashish, by Robert Cornell Clarke, is a wonderful, in-depth look at the world of hashish.
There's a bunch of stuff at Erowid that are free to download, including some on cannabis specifically, but also covering psychedelics and drug culture as well.
I highly reccomend "The Emperor Wears No Clothes", by the famous Jack Herer. There's some absolutely fascinating stuff about weed's history and culture.
For example, did you know that during alcohol prohibition in the 20s, there were more hashish parlors in New York City than there were alcohol speakeasies?

I was going to suggest this same book, it was very informative from what I can remember.
Also, there's a very old book called The Hasheesh Eater written by Fitz Hugh Ludlow in the late 1800's. This one deals mostly with the author's personal experiences with the drug.
