Best way to store bubble hash

I have been making bubble hash from my kief lately. I enjoy it. The hash is good. How should I store it?

With my weed I store it in a mason jar.

My kief is stored in an air tight jar with rubber around the lid.

Now I would like to store my hash after I make it cause 2g of hash will last me 3 months or more. I hoard the shit. Was thinking about using another jar with rubber around the lid. Need to find another one. Or buy s glass jar from a head shop to store it in.

either is perfect --

honestly the mason jar is just fine -- keep it in a dark cold place of course --

and if you can black out / darken the glass if you take that route !
(the reason rubber or silicone jar could be ideal ....depending on amount )
but for cost reasons

$1.00 mason jar -- and just darken it at home 4 free -- and you set ---

best of luck

yummy yummy yummy

Absolute best storage environment for Bubble Hash..

As noted by @invisiblefriend ... Dark Glass air tight jar, preferably a jar that is just slightly bigger than the amount of Hash you are storing.

This reduces the amount of Oxygen exposure to the Hash, avoiding slow oxidation.

I'm on the hunt for a Wine Chiller, as these are a hash makers best friend...
Zero Humidity and keeps the hash at or below 55F, but no lower than 35ishF ..

We don't want to freeze the Glands, as they may rupture.

So are you making bubble hash (cold water mix, strain, separate, strain, etc) or pressing kief (kief from 4 pc grinder or kief box)? Ask because storage can be a bit different. If making bubble, you want to be sure it is TOTALLY dry before storing, because it can mold if not fully cured. If pressed kief, this usually isn't a concern.

Agree well sealed mason jar (smaller the better) is best. Best for either, but again you want to make sure bubble hash has dried out first.

I have a vacuum pump that I use for long term storage that works extremely well for hash. You can use any mason jar or any old jar that still has its rubber seal intact (like a jelly jar). What you do is poke a hole in the lid with a super thumbtack (comes with it), then put this little band aid looking thing over the hole (comes with a bunch of these). Then you pump out the air. I use those tiny jelly jars for hash (like the ones in those Christmas cheese gift boxes than grandma used to send). They are only 1/2 fl oz I think, so super small. A little tricky with the vacuum rig because of size, but not too bad with just a little practice. And, OK to use a bit of a larger jar because you suck out most of the oxygen. And, creates a nice vacuum while sealing the jar. I try to be sure not to vacuum too much with fresh buds (for fear it will burst resin heads), but don't think this is an issue at all with hash/pressed kief.

The pump is called a Pump-n-Seal. I got mine years ago on Amazon for less than $25, but don't think they have them anymore. Can still get it from manufacturer's website here for about $35 (+ S&H, I think). Not the cheapest, but has been a worthwhile investment for me. If something ever happens to mine, I'll be getting another immediately! Not only is it good for hash, but for vacuum sealing anything including any vape-ables and even food - if you can imagine that! :D

Many thanks, but not necessary. I've learned so much on FC over the years, I don't think it would be possible to pay it all back. I'll keep trying, though! :brow: Am sure you'll be doing the same before too long.

And... OH SHIT!!! Just realized you are one of the chosen ones. Colorado Springs, huh? You lucky dog! Was in Denver a few months ago and can't wait to get back. Glad to see the Rec thing seems to still be going so well there. Was a little afraid for a while initially that some would F it up. So glad that isn't the case, and really loved visiting what I now call the new "Wild, Wild West"! A whole different world than out East, and one I never thought I would live long enough to see. Will be the same everywhere soon, hopefully!

Yup my buddies @flotntoke and @Hashtag46&2 have it right here. Cool, dark, dry place in a mason jar. I have bubble that has been stored for >1 year and is still every bit as good as the day it was made!

Also my abovementioned friends are spot on in mentioning that proper drying is crucial with bubble. You don't wanna hit moldy concentrates!

I will say to be mindful of using too much vacuum on jars. Remember a negative vacuum in the container will facilitate boiling off of volatiles and degradation. Still this does not need to be a problem so long as we don't use too much pressure.

Exactamundo! As The Fonz used to say. Thanks to you also, @herbivore21 . For those who don't know, this dude knows his shit!

For vacuum with the Pump-n-Seal, I only do a few pumps depending on size of jar and what's inside. For those tiny jelly jars usually just barely one full pump for hash, if that much. With a half pint jar and 1/2 z - probably about 3.

You can feel the vacuum building with this cheap little hand pump and I back off as soon as it starts pulling back at me with fresh nugs. Now, if vacuuming some rice in a quart jar I may go 20 or more.

Definitely bro, a purpose made vac sealing device like the Pump-n-Seal is not likely to create too strong of a vacuum in the container. I'd love to see one of you guys who has one attach a pressure gauge to your jar whilst pumping out air actually, with this information I could tell you exactly what kind of risk of boiling off actives we actually have using this :)

Perhaps an idea for an FC experiment? :D

Many thanks for the kind words bro, you guys are the best!
