i used your math, of 5 sessions a day. Is that so unreal to do after the hike? 5 sessions

For most people 5 full sessions would probably be more then they want after hiking 8-10 hours under these circumstances. On a 2000 mile hike how much herb do you carry ? Not Much.

That's why he better go with a Lotus over the VG. VG is much more wasteful when it comes to herbs. I have tried both! Lotus is much more efficient and gets you higher with less material. Lotus is also easier to clean. VG pipes (the wooden ones) cannot be cleaned! In three years with VG's and Lotus's and BIC's and torches I have found torches to be more reliable and of course they offer much faster extraction with the Lotus.

He better stays off smoking as the hike would not be as pleasurable with all this fog smoking causes to the body and brain...

Well, i don't know his tolerance or if he'll share the vaporizer or how much he'll bring to the trip. My opinion goes beyond these variables.

What i do know is that i would choose a Lotus without a blink of an eye if i was in his circunstances.

And IMO the convenience of a bic lighter is very mitigated by the inferior experience it brings and not worth it.

I only taste the sweet herb in my VGs so I would say this ^^^ is very subjective.

I have never wasted herb in a vaporgenie. What are you talking about?

Maybe your taste receptors are not as sensitive? I don't drink anything but water and teas, I am mostly vegan so maybe that plays a role as well…

VG has a large bowl and with big bowls we usually load more. My loads with the Lotus are usually about 0.02-0.03 grams. With the VG it was 0.1-0.2g… Lotus has log vape efficiency. I don't remember VG be like that…

On top of that, the walls are not smooth like the lotus stem and that traps a lot of vapour. I also noticed quite a difference in efficiency from the Genie to other vapes.

I eat Lots of Beef and eggs and drink malta and coffee and a quart or two of water a day. I still smoke a few Cigs a day . so yeah I guess my taste could be a bit off after 50 + years.

You can vape as little as you want with the VG, If you don't have the self control to load less don't blame the vape. I mean I can stuff 5 grams in my HA but .30 is my standard load.

@RUDE BOY , you seem to intentionaly misunderstand what NF is saying.

The Genie is less efficient because it has a bigger bowl which automatically forces you to fill more so you can have a hit as thick as the Lotus. The wood walls also play a big part, i'm guessing with the metal and glass this wouldn't happen of course.
Surely you can put less in a bowl or more, if you so choose. But the Lotus works better with smaller quantities than the Genie.

And about the taste, it is indeed different. And the vapour is much harsher on the throat.

I did not find it offensive like NF does, but the Lotus, again, is way superior in this department.

I still stand by my idea that the VG extracts just as efficiently as the lotus with small amounts but yes you may get bigger clouds with the same amount of herb if your just looking for more exhale.

If you're talking about the wood vg, your idea is wrong.

Regarding bigger clouds, that is not what was meant. It is not about volume, but about thickness or ratio of air/cannabinoids in the vapour you inhale. The VG needs more quantity to achieve the same ratios.

@RUDE BOY ? Do you have a Lotus?
No I don't, and I have only hit one a few times.

I am in no way saying that the lotus is not a killer vaporizer. I just know at one time I worked a 26 month job that I had to pack five to six days of camping supplies on my back and a can of butane was to big for my pack, as there were things like food ,water and stuff to pack and a Dugout and a few bics was all I had room for.

edit edit; we all have different priorities when camping while back packing.

I said what i think about this, the Lotus is superior in every way. The butane can should not be an impediment as it is light and the size of a water bottle. And definitely not a reason to choose the genie over the lotus.

Let the OP say what he thinks.

Deadheadbill, that is why it has been advised for him to get a better lighter and use the one in the kit as a backup.

A can of butane (my 10oz/300ml can) is fairly light, but for those that are seeking to shed oz's, it's not ideal. This 300ml can is a tall one, and not very packable IMO.

However, I've seen many cans at 100/150ml, so you could reduce half of the weight.

Smoking cigs kills taste buds (I'm not saying literally). Trust me on that one. If not, just search for people that have quit smoking, and they'll all tell you that smells and tastes are greatly improved after they quit.

Yeah, weight is different from volume. To me, the 100ml can is a bigger advantage because of the less volume than the less weight.
A torch lighter is also a better tool with more applications in the outdoors, than a regular lighter.

I hear you Rude Boy, and i understand the size constraints of course.

I'll put it this way, if Hiker can pack the Lotus+2 torches+100ml butane can i think he will be much more pleased than with a VG.

If he can't, then the next best option is IMO, the wood VG or the metal VG with a few lighters, as much as he needs until he is able to buy more further along his journey.

For bic lighters there is also the Lithe, which some prefer to the VG although it is wood as well.

I can't find Lithe vapes for sale anymore or that would have been my first suggestion. A Tiny Awesome Watch Pocket size vape if you don't mind a little wood taste. My on the road choice.
