So I'm a long time joint (with tobacco) smoker that's been trying to make the switch to vaping for a while. Started off with the Pinnacle Pro which was a nice design, but in practice unreliable, had poor battery life and poor taste. Got a Da Buddha which I love when I have the freedom to vape constantly all day, but don't get to use much now back living with parents. Got the Arizer Solo which I really liked, great taste, good built quality and battery, but it just never managed to replace smoking for me. Found it takes too long/too many bowls to get me where I wanted and the stem means I'm not comfortable using it out and about. Felt like portable vaporizer technology just wasn't really there yet for me. I use the Arizer more to vape lightly throughout the day, then smoke a joint at night, whereas I'm more looking for something I can hit a session quickly and be nice for a few hours. Out and about I'm still finding joints the quickest most practical way to get where I want. Arizer Go and Davcinci IQ might be changing that perception though.
Situation/Usage: Living at home with parents, I'm older and so are they, so I'm not getting policed, but I don't think they'd understand and I don't want to rock the boat. So smell and discretion is a consideration, but not sure how much I'd compromise performance for that. Typically either walk the dog and smoke, stand outside my house, vape in a closed room out the window, smoke at friends house or chilling on the block. Sometimes on campus at uni. Usually around 2-3, 0.5-1g joints in the evening. Don't mind going for a walk, but winters coming and its a bit of a hassle, trying to cut down on lingering smell too.
Looking mainly for something that will hit hard and fast without too much smell in use and on the unit, then put away for a bit. I know the vapour will smell. If it can be portable even better but I know I'm asking for a lot. Here's what I'm looking at
Dynavap M: ~£50, love how cheap and portable it is,but small bowls and not discrete, look like a fiend. Probably buy regardless what I get.
StickyBrick Jr: ~ £150, seems perfect performance wise, on demand convection, cheaper than mighty, but wouldn't use outside and torch maybe loud
Haze Square Pro: ~£150, functionality seems perfect, 4 big bowls don't need to keep reloading, discrete enough to use outside, fast charge, but read about some performance and reliability issues, poor batter. Don't want to repeat pinnacle pro.
Crafty/Mighty: £200/£250, solid performance joint replacement, portable. But very expensive, crafty almost as much as mighty with battery/reliability concerns, mighty bit big to be used on the go
Arizer Go: ~£180, trust Arizer performance and reliability, truly portable can use everywhere, swap-able batteries, but small bowls might take too long to get me where I want
Davinci IQ: ~£180, likewise, and easier reloading
Plenty: ~£170, because fuck it
I know this is kind of a bullshit question becuase I'm asking for everything, but really I just want to get pointed in the direction you think I'll be most satisfied, and what vape will be the best compromise. Should I go powerful and semi portable, or compromise and go truly portable. Are they good enough yet? Or will I just be disappointed and still reach for the papers when I'm on the go? Am I better off getting 2?
tl;dr:
Want fast and hard hitting semi portable vape that can replace joints when I'm at home
