Best vape for insomnia?

I've heard things like conduction has more of a body high vs convection, but I'm not sure how true that is. I know that my experiences with some of the older portables lead me to think that vaporizers aren't good for insomnia. Eventually I decided to try a ball vape and that seems to help knock me out every night, despite my CH B0 being mostly convection. Anybody with experience with a wide variety of vapes have any thoughts on this or an idea of what might be best for a sedating high?

Same issue here and I've been 100% vape since 2011.

You want something that can fully extract, which a lot of vapes don't. Full extraction comes from high temps, because all the chemicals you need to be sleepy and stay sleepy exist at those extraction levels.

Ignore anyone who tells you vaporizers feel different than smoking as far as full extraction effects.
Ignore the fear about benzine at high temps.
Convection/conduction has nuances but heat is heat.
Strain is most important, and I like CBD dominant strains for sleep.

Easiest for you is to go straight for vapes that wring all the actives out of the dry herb in a crucible of heat. BFG Fusion 2.0 if you have a higher tolerance, Dynavap if not. If you need electronic devices, the Xmax v3 Pro with dosing caps really shocks me with the complete hybrid heating effects (much more than the roffu).

But do be aware, many many vapes don't fully extract and leave you with a weird feeling that doesn't hit the needs you have. If you try one of those its the fault of the vape, not vaporizing.

yeah, that was my experience with the PAX and the Flowermate. I just bought a Solo III from arizer as my secondary vape to my ball vape, and I'm in the testing phase with it. I'm hoping I don't have to send it back to POTV if it doesn't meet my needs, but we'll see.

Conduction heavy.

Heaviest hitting vape and best high I’ve ever experienced is Flower Kettle paired with the Electropath. Add in some double deckers you’ll be sleeping in no time.

Otherwise anvil and dynavap fulfill that conduction for me currently.

But honestly as a fellow insomniac nothing knocks me out harder than edibles.

I wish i could swap to edibles. Unfortunately for me it seems they stop working after my tolerance reaches a certain point.

Sorry to hear that. Other than edibles, concentrates hit me harder than flower.

I don’t mess with anything other than rosin or hash though. Not worth it in my opinion

OK maybe i am totally off base here but .... wouldn't the most appropriate response about selecting the most correct strain of cannabis be the answer rather than the selection of conduction or convection or even the method of cannabis consumption (ie vaping or edibles etc).

I know if i consume a strong Sativa (like a Amnesia Haze or Sour Diesel ) prior before bed time i up for hours. My go to if i want to sleep quickly is Charm City Kush.

I agree. I believe the convection vs conduction discussions are valid, but the longer lasting effects are more strain dependent IMO (e.g., sleeping through the night). I grow a strain that improves my sleep immensely, but is not a stoney variety and I use full convection. I don't know why, but I can vape it 4-5 hours before going to bed and still sleep much more soundly when using this strain. For me, it's a godsend.

I've always found stain choice to be more important than the vape. And I also agree that some strains that are purported to be energising have a soothing effect on me that helps. I don't know for sure but I think myrcene is partly responsible for this, and a sativa like sour diesel can have a lot of that terp. Also it's different for different people so take notes if you're trying new strains if you can.

@Photonic can you share that strain name that helps you please? I'd life to hunt some out and give it a go.

I always have a couple of heavy indica strains at hand for nighttime.
Some are really efficient!
But what really knocks me out is my "old" stash (+2 years in the jar).
All the old stuff makes me sleepy but old Indica-strains are like anaesthetics!
I have this jar of Northern Lights that has gone fully brown from old age.

When i smell the jar i yawn :D
When i take a hit in bed i fall asleep before exhaling! ☁️😶‍🌫️
Even when vaped in full convection device...
I woke up a couple of times, TM2 still in hand... :ko:

Absolutely. This one doesn't "knock me out" but it helps me sleep through the night for some reason. Only strain to work consistently for me so far.

I have more of their S1 and F2 seeds that I'm planning to hunt through once this harvest of Blueberry Muffin comes down.
