Hello. Currently I use a couple bubbler style waterpipes w/beeline and a stemless strait w/kink and TI Swing/Atom Smasher/ or Essential Vape. I had a vaporizer years ago but it got left in a dispensary lounge. Now I'm thinking of switching to vaporizing for health reasons. Getting to the point I've been looking at the Persei and it looks promising. Has the herb chamber been released? From what I can see this is the latest with alot of discussion feedback please. Any other reccommendations for a portable vape? Anybody doing water filtrated vaping?

Portables really wouldn't be the best option for water filtration. I guess it depends on your definition, some would say the supreme is "portable" and is known for milking tubes. The Gnome is also receiving a lot of love lately as well. There is always the MFLB water pipe adapter too. There's a lot of personal preference questions that you should ask yourself as well, IE
Vapor density
Efficiency
Variable temp
Butane or battery powered
Taste
Etc.

Personally I would recommend the mflb, TV1 for herbs. for concentrates I still have to weigh in entirely on it. more to follow later. I love my Ti swing more than my portable oil vapes currently, but its not portable! well not like a pen is!

My personal favorite for portable vapes is the Arizer Solo... it is a very discreet unit that's only the size of a red bull can. It has a glass draw stem that produces some very flavorful vapor every time and the battery life is just swell. A really wonderful portable vaporizer for sure.

The MFLB is a great vape for those who don't require as much medication. It fits in the palm of your hand, perfect for vaping in situations where one normally couldn't. The battery life is a little on the short side, but we ship it with four, so that way the user can always be vaping.

Now for those who don't wish to deal with recharging batteries, there is the Iolite v2 and WISPR. They rely on butane, making them perfect for those who love to camp and cannot make it to a power source for an extended period of time.

Now if you're looking to vape through water, hands down has to be the Life Saber Vaporizer. Though it can also function has a standard dry vaporizer, when this baby is hooked up to a bong, woah! I find my self making monster clouds with this unit and I love filtering through, it's my evening vape

If you can get a good one with no smells and no issues, the Solo is a great vaporizer - big clouds, no learning curve, relatively robust design, smooth vapor from glass stems which harvest oil, a temp range good for either herb or concentrates or liquid concentrates if you have a medium, and it can hook up to 14mm glass without issue. I use mine all the time.

The MFLB undoubtedly has a place as a smaller, more robust vape.

If it needs to be portable, I recommend checking out the supreme. It's versatile and can easily connect to glass. It also can arguably provide some of the highest vapor:air hits out of any vaporizer currently on the market, including many home models. It provides excellent extraction without any stirring or mixing of the bowl during the session. However the supreme is not recommended for concentrates; I'd stick to the Eclipse or TI pad for that. Honestly, I prefer glass models like the Vapocane or Gnome over the Supreme at this point. They all accomplish the same task by using retained heat, but the glass models are pure convection, don't involve aluminum and wood and therefore have "purer" airpath, can go up to higher temperatures for concentrates, they cost less, etc.. My Supreme lives in a box, and if I didn't consider it such a cool American artisan vape that I can't really replace... Then I'd honestly probably sell or trade it. I prefer the glass alternatives or the convenience of electric vapes like the Solo or UD or Q or others, which can also milk a tube if you don't feel like dealing with the headaches associated with torches. I get so tired of filling torches, going outside and holding my breath while holding it at arm's length like a cooked hand grenade, and electric vapes are what I reach for then.

I was first turned onto the idea of vaping when a buddy of mine recently let me try his iolite (old versions are selling for $99.99 on amazon) and have since been reading reviews and watching videos left and right to figure out all I can about the portable vaps on the market. I need a fairly stealthy portable because I'm about to be in a particular profession where prudence is very important when dealing with herb. I'm also interested in using tobacco in my vap from time to time. The portable vaps I'm torn between are the Arizer Solo and the Thermovape T1. I really liked the VaporBlunt, but it's not discreet enough for me because the VB logo is right on it. Don't like the hiss of Iolites and their many malfunctions. MFLB looks too difficult for me to deal with. It seems like I change my mind each day about which one I want! I'm not interested in vaping in a movie theatre of something, but maybe in my office from time to time and definitely in my car or even outside. I really like the Solo, but how portable is it? I'm turned off by the separate glass tube you have to attach to it. The TV looks really nice, but the battery life and it's $250 pricetag with only a 3 month warranty on the heating core worry me :/ The Solo has longer battery life and a 2 year warranty and I can get the M106 or M105 model on Amazon for about $175. I've been reading all I can on to make a decision. Can someone convince me which vape I should take the plunge on? I 'preciate you fellas!

Thanks for the input. Learning curve is a factor that can't be overlooked. If I ever wanted to share with a friend it's probably going to be easier to use the Solo rather than the TV.

the vaporgenie is not a vape you can give to a vapor-newb and expect him to get a decent hit off it the first time, or even the fifth time. it has a much steeper learning curve to how hard you have to hit it, flame placement, etc.

With the solo, you basically just inhale. It is pretty forgiving on technique.
However, the solo is more of a cordless vape than a stealthy portable. You won't be able to bring this with you and vaporize "on the go", but rather you'd use it in a car or a room that you bring it in to.


A vaporgenie can be had for under $40 shipped so its never a bad choice. It is a fantastic backup to another vape.

it vapes great also the top/filter can go on anything you want. I have both and still seem to lean towards th vg most the time

The heating element is much better at conducting heat than glass though, making it easier for people new to vaping. If you had to have only 1 vape that was portable, durable, and capable of attaching to glass, I think the Supreme makes a ton of sense, if you can afford it.

Thanks for the input the thermo vape looks nice. I heard the Persei was gonna have an herb chamber Id rather have a portable vape that can handle herbs or straight concentrates.

In all seriousness (not that I wasn't being serious) I would pick the Solo as it's much easier to use as a daily driver and super easy for a noob, too.

Each of the models discussed above have their strong points and advantages and I use them all.

I would order the Solo from a reputable vendor and make sure that it is a M106 or M107 model if I were you. Previous models were infamous for smell and taste issues. I would also read the Solo thread to gwhorw information on the many transformations the Solo has gone through in its short life. I love my my M106 Solo but hated my M103. IMO, do your research and et one of the newer models that seem to be issue free.

im not sure the solo will be stealth at all either! if you need stealth I'd say the TV1 or mflb (and btw the mflb isn't that hard to master!)

once you buy one you will be buying more anyways

I do not doubt Gonzo's integrity or experience as a vaporist for a single minute, but I do have a completely different experience myself.

I absolutely love my ceramic M102 model even though most of the ceramic on the side of the bowl has chipped off now, and I absolutely loathed both M105s I tried for their taste and smell. My M102 tastes basically as pure as my Vapocane and gets the ABV much, much darker then the stinking SS ones. My M105s ran slightly cooler on setting 7 than my ceramic one on setting 5, which makes it basically useless for my personal kind of use. I've heard some reports that the M106 and later models are programed to run hotter again, but I'm not sure if that is already confirmed by someone who actually tried all 3 models I mention in this post yet.

Anywho, the only Solo I would recommend at this point is one of the older models if you can still find one, which basically sums up the problem with this vape. It's either a hit or miss and experiences may/will vary from person to person and from Solo to Solo.

I agree OTA that the Solo can be hit or miss depending on which unit you receive. I owned a M103 Ceramic and can confirm that the new models do run just as hot as the previous ceramic models. I also had a chance to try a friends M105 and also found it to have the same taste and smell as my M103 unit but run much cooler than both my M103 and M106.

I truly believe that there were some smell free early Ceramic models but the chances of getting one seemed slim at best. Most users tend to be enjoying their M106 and M107 models and I just wanted to ensure that CHEI received all the information. I know how frustrating it was for me to have to send my first brand new unit in for a replacement and wouldn't want that for a fellow forum member.

I agree. If I had to pick only one, it would probably be the solo. However, I don't think the Solo is at all suitable for stealth use. For max stealth, it is hard to beat the MFLB or the Thermovape. I prefer the Thermovape, but it is a bit on the expensive side. Perhaps go for the Solo and a MFLB? Both are portable and one is very stealthy.

I feel a bit late, but I find the Lithe to be my stealthiest piece, minus the flame, and it gives stronger and bigger hits when compared to the MFLB and VG. Its also its very pocket friendly.

But you would be inhaling the flame so its not very noticeable.
