Best Portable Vap Pen for Hash

I am looking to purchase a vap pen for hash. (Arguably CO2 keif) I want the best bang for buck, but I wont hesitate to spend more for a quality unit.

Considering the omicron V2 or ThermoVape, but by no means set on them.

I would like to be able to use Honey Oil, or Hash. Lifetime warranty big plus.

Recommendations?

The ThermoVape Cera oil cartridge is unrivaled for the use of melting extracts (BHO, CO2, etc) in terms of performance, longevity, and customer support. The cartridges are warrantied for a year and after that you can get them rebuilt for $15. With the loose leaf cartridge you'd also have one of the best portable vapes for bubble or old-style hash.

There's lots more info in the Vaporpedia entry.

I am looking for an excellent portable. I am looking mainly at the miniVAP but now I see the cera does herbs so, is the cera better for herbs than the miniVAP. Anyone experience with the cera with herbs?

Yup, I've got a Cera and only use it with herb.

The miniVAP seems like a great vape from all I've seen and read. It is a very different vape from the Cera.

The miniVAP contains electronics and regulates temperature for you. You have a few temperatures to choose from.
Cera on the other hand is all analog, that is there's no electronics or digital automation. It is all manual and controlled by your breath speed. Some see this as having more control and others see it as having less. In theory, the lack of electronics should point to greater reliability and longevity. I haven't heard about any problems with the miniVAP; I'm just talking about betting on the long term.

Another big difference is that the Cera uses modular cartridges to vape different materials, so for an extra $100 on top of the full loose leaf setup, you can have the best oil vape available.

They are also very differently sized. The Cera comes close to the pen form-factor, though at a 1" diameter it's more like a real fat cigar. The miniVAP is portable but a bit large to be pocketable.

The Cera also gives you the option of carrying as many spare batteries as you want at a much lower cost than buying multiple miniVAP battery modules,

There is a larger learning curve with the LL Cera than you'd have with the miniVAP. Thanks to the electronics things should be easy from the start there, while the Cera will take a bit of practice at first. I find that process rewarding, after going through it with both the MFLB and the Cera. I like the experience of using a manual tool to partake in my herbs; it's all part of the experience for me. I liken it to learning to play an instrument. Once you begin to develop technique, you form a connection with the instrument and the barrier between you and whatever sort of performance you feel like begins to fade away… But I only speak for myself, I know many would call me crazy and reach for digital temp regulation every time. To each their own!

One other thing to consider is customer support. TET is renowned for theirs, and if you're based in the US you'll have access to quicker and cheaper shipping should you need warranty service. I don't know much about customer support at Hermes, so maybe a miniVAP owner could chime in there. I believe everything I've seen in the miniVAP thread has been positive.

Both vapes have top-of-the-line performance and flavor. As far as answering "is the cera better for herbs than the miniVAP", it comes down to what's better for you and your wants/needs, and how much you want to spend. The herbs will be happy either way.

If you do prefer electronics, I'd also take a look at the Ascent too if you haven't already. It's due to be released soon and offers digital temp control and use with oils. Early reports seem to show that it is less of a pure convection vape than the Cera or miniVAP, but it still looks nice. Should be a top performer for flavor, like the Cera and miniVAP. Only three people here on FC actually have one yet though, this is all early reports and little speculation.

Sorry for the long answer! Hopefully something in there helps.

As I said in my first post in this thread, the Cera Loose Leaf cartridge is fantastic for vaping solid hash, you just need to grind it up a bit in order to get lots of surface area for the heated air to contact.

I'm vaporizing solid hash. Using a Da Vinci at the moment. Just made that connection with the instrument wot nopartofme was talking about. The Oil can works brilliantly. Once u get rid of the little bits of cotton or whatever clogging it up.

HOWEVER - I did get it before finding out about the Cera !?!
Yes - I am a Noob. It's true. And I still want a cera.

With the Da Vinci I was able to figure out everything, down to the voltage required (works on 240 or whatever us in the rest of the world have to live with). But with the cera, good information is hard to come by. Will the cera work internationally (I sure as hell hope so).

And what about the older vapes made by Thermovape? The T1 and the Revolution? Any feedback on their performance with bits of Hash? A good stealth vape for Hash? Anybody? Anybody? What about the Pax? By Ploom? I love my Volcano (classic) but I need something I don't have to carry around on my head. I'm considering adding a couple of Da Vinci Oil Can's to my collection. This way I can keep them filled always (My cup runneth over).

So far, what works best for me with oils and waxes is just a cheap MicroG (I also have a cheaper MicroG clone). I buy spare atomizers - the ones without the screens. They are kind of a pain because you can't load much in them. Also, it takes some practice to get the hits right - hold the button just long enough to inhale and let go so that the material doesn't burn.

I've tried a number of other approaches, including the oil can in the DaVinci, but so far this is the easiest method. Also the little Micro G pens are very stealth and can be bought cheaply.

For solid hash that isn't full melt and for kief the best I've found so far is the Palm 2.0 (MFLB would probably work also). I took out the screen on the mouthpiece which seemed to just inhibit airflow. Just put the hash straight on the bottom screen (it is replaceable and can be cleaned with iso). Don't pull too hard. Once you've taken a hit or two the material kind of fuses to the screen so it doesn't rattle around.

My portable for buds is the DaVinci. I haven't been that happy with the results I get with the Palm 2.0 with buds. I wasn't happy with the results that I got with DaVinci and oil can - even without the little cotton wick. Different substances need different tools.

Yes, the Cera works internationally. I believe they provide an adapter for the charger.

I haven't used any older TET products. I know the Revolution/DART has scores of fans, but those perform best with high purity oils that vape cleanly. You definitely don't want to put old school hash in those.

Can we get an update on the Atmos Thermo for old school hash?
I don't have experience with any of these. You should try asking in their respective threads. I know you'll have a hard time finding anyone here who would recommend any Atmos product; they're cheaply made, don't work well, and don't last long.
