Hey Guys/Gals.... I know this is strictly an opinion type question, but I'm looking for some help in purchasing my new vape. I finally got myself enough fun money ($250) stuck back to buy myself a new best friend. lol
I'm looking for a new portable unit, but just can't quite decide which model to "add to basket"! I've had my eye on the Pax for a while now but reading some some the threads lately, it seems like it may have fallen a little in the favorite ranks or rather has a little more serious competition in the market now. The other models that I used a friends Pax quite a few times and really enjoy it all the way around. But I like to get some feedback before I place an order. The Arizer Solo and the Descent are the two others models I'm trying to decide between.

How do you intend to use a portable? If you don't need a walk around stealthy model, I'd get the Solo. If you do, then don't consider the Solo, and go from there.

If stealth is required, Indica
Maybe if you've got really big hands. Mine are average, and this model bothers me as an 'on the go' stealthy model, with the big shiny lid sticking out. I prefer the original DaVinci for stealth and easier loading on the go.

Actually I don't have big hands and I still can't fully cover that big shiny lid either, but I still feel more comfortable in public vaping with the indica over my Ascent. The pax was too harsh for me personally, and required far too much cleaning to be worth the high price. Y

I guess I don't vape in a crowded room so I'm not as worried about extreme stealth, but the Indica seems to fit the bill for me very well, though I probably will upgrade to a black edition when they come out later this month

If you plan to use both herbs and oils you should consider the Haze Vaporizer for a portable. You have the capability to switch between a dual bowl feature which is really neat.

I would prefer the matte black too. I think it's the 'sucking on a giant Zippo' look that bothers me the most. And for ease of use I also drilled out the mouthpiece to about 3/16" diameter to improve the restricted draw. Much improved IMO.

Thanks for the feedback so far. I already have an Indica and really love it! I also have or rather had a Vapir No2(got a short) and I have a ceramic hotbox. I would like something I can stick in my pocket fairly easy and take on road trips or just out walking around. The Indica works pretty well for that...The solo seems to be the most recommended by folks here as well as a few people more that I've asked. The solo was also my second choice behind the Pax. How would you guys compare the Pax to the Solo on performance not stealthiness.

I have a Solo and I love it. Seems to run forever on it's battery power (your mileage may vary). The only bad thing I can say about it is that I've broken both glass pipes but they are only about $10 each to replace. The one great thing I like about the Solo is once I start getting an acrid taste from the material, I'm extracted all the medicine I need...but not all the contents. ;) I save the ABV, until I get about 2-3ozs and do a warm oil extraction and make brownies with them! :) (don't forget to account for how much the ABV material will absorb and hold on to. Great way of not wasting anything with a highly controllable vape. I'll never give up my Solo.

i'll recommend the arizer solo. it's well built of quality materials and simply works. very user friendly without requiring special knowledge. excellent battery life for a portable. the clean vapor path produces fantastic flavor from your material. holds a nice amount, not too little to get an effect but not so much that you have to pack a lot. lots of cheap accessories to make it work with water tools which it does wonderfully. a nice range of temperature settings to tune in the effect for your personal needs. all in all a great vape that technically can fit in your pocket without a case.....though i'd use a case to keep pocket lint out of it.

+1 for the Solo! It is my daily driver, I like it so much, I just bought a second from a friend on here! I usually vape at home, but there are many ways to conceal a Solo... especially with a shorty WONG from Ed. I prefer using the original glass stem from Arizer, as the flavor is exquisite!(if your material is..of course!)

I throw another vote on for the Haze!

Admittedly I don't have a lot of experience with some of the others mentioned here but I have tried a few and the Haze is my favorite! You get a lot of bang for your buck with this thing.
@Vape Dr. just recently got the Haze too and in talking to him his initial impressions are favorable. He has owned and tried a bunch of other vapes as well so you might want to pick his brain a bit. In my experience he has been very friendly and helpful.

It depends?
Flavor?
Price?
Water pairing?

If flavor is not important the PAX.
FIREFLY I don't know for sure however the flavor is suppose to be pretty good.
Their are a few others I don't really know what their like?

The SOLO is my driver.
I'm a medical patient so maybe I don't qualify to comment?
The SOLO is under $160 from puffitup.
GonG for water pairing! Planet vapes for stems (PHVES) and glass on glass adapters (GonG's)

Latter add more stuff!

Start with a SOLO and add more at some point!

My advice is crap!
However I just love cannabis more than gadgets!

CANNABIS is the HOLY GRAIL!

@Melting Pot The BENDER from W9 TECH is perfect when you have more than a ZIP to be excessive.
Not stealth however the flavor makes up for it.
This is not a casual vaporizer! (PERSEI ATTACHMENTS)
I use it sometimes however it's not my driver.
The SOLO is not a BENDER.
The SOLO is a useful tool.
The BENDER is like driving a BENTLEY to the supermarket!

Not for everyone!

@ataxian I have had the luxury of using a bender although not very stealth and probably not a daily driver.but the flavor is out of this world!

Well, I can't speak for many of the others here, but I will offer some insight on the Pax that I have used for over 2 years now. It's a fantastic device for a serious cannabis user. I am sure there are far better options for the very best taste and lack of maintenance, but for an easy to carry, all day vape the Pax is hard to beat. I can pack it up and go fishing for a good 8 hours and be good to go with that one pack of the Pax. I will load it with about a half gram of very well ground flower and then start on low heat. 3 draws then it goes back in my pocket. An hour later, on medium and another 3 or 4 draws. Then I flip the brick over, temp still on medium and another 3 or 4 draws. Then I can take the whole brick out, crush it in my palm and repack it... good for another 3 or 4 draws. Then finally I will turn it up to high temp and take 3 or 4 draws. So I get 5 or 6 sessions which keeps me good for most of the day. It does take some effort to clean, but once you learn how it's easy and I even enjoy it. Like cleaning a gun, it can be a fun process.

So it might not be the best out there at all, but I can say that any serious/career cannabis user will enjoy a Pax if for nothing else than utility reasons.
