Hey FC!
What you think is the best way to vaporize our favorite herbs when away from power for a long time? Pros, cons of solutions?
For me so far, one way is to go with a torch-flame based vaporizer like the Lotus or Vapman or other similar one. Some of them are also very durable and can last for years with some good care. Downside is that you need a good stock of lighters, either a few expensive, well built ones or a small bag of cheaper, good-for-a-few-months ones. You also need to find good butane from time to time. The costs for this solution are fairly low but you still depend on a market.
Second solution in my mind is a vape like the Sublimator UFO. You can go with butane but you can go with wood fire as well. Expensive to buy but could last a lifetime. Downside is that you need to use a glass piece for this or go for a full Mercury kit. A pretty sustainable solution in my mind but you get to PAY for it!
Third solution a USB charging vape (lots to choose from I guess) and a good portable solar panel. I imagine that a Grasshopper paired with a Goal Zero Nomad 13 Solar panel and a Sherpa 50 recharger could be a very neat solution although a bit expensive as well. If you add the AC plug accessory you can even power a log vape from this thing. Even an e-nano maybe but a Hi or UD for sure!
Then it could be our old friend the shisha… I have tried it as a vaporizer in the past and it tastes amazing, it hits like a train and can destroy several people simultaneously if it needs to. Only think you need to have in abundance are coils and good natural ones are not cheap at all! And you need a lot of them apparently… I wonder if normal coals from a wood fire can be used… Probably not…
Then I can think of fresnel lenses and sun… Nothing specific though that works for sure… There is this guy but it doesn't look nice…
Also this guy…
Anyway, what you think?
