Sorry
@SunnyHours I somehow missed my notifications on this thread!
@invertedisdead is really the one to trust here though; I’ve read every post in the FlowerPot thread, but I only have the ShowerHead version myself and I use like 95% flower. I do have an interest in concentrates though, so I’ve still paid attention to other people’s experiences.
To give you a better idea of the standard WA size, I’ve heard that you can run a Q-Tip around it and just about get the whole thing in 1 pass. I’d think it would still be enough for what I would call a medium sized dab, but for large dabs, convenience or just an overall premium feel to the dish you may prefer the D-Nail.
Oh, and don’t forget you can put concentrates in the bowl on top of flower or whatever you can figure out to keep it from dripping through. A few people have used a stack of double-weave Ti screens for example.
If your goal is really to conserve concentrates though, maybe it’s better not to have the option of dropping a huge glob in.
Personally I’d probably go the D-Nail WA route since the idea of playing with the different (expensive) dish materials appeals to me despite my micro-doses of concentrates, but I occasionally have significant disposable income right now...in your situation I’d probably go with the standard WA and be happy to know that SiC is still a very well regarded material whether it’s in the form of a $100 D-Nail fish or a smaller and slightly less polished TAG dish.
Whatever you choose I don’t think you’ll be disappointed. Just remember to buy some extra screens, and maybe an extra bowl (14mm stubby for $20?) in case you want to use concentrates sometimes through a bowl with no flower residue. Many wouldn’t care, but some do.
I hope that helps, but like I said I think other members have you covered anyway. You’ll see their names all over the FP thread long before I started posting, and they’ve got more experience with concentrates.
Edit: Oh, also yes you would need to get the D-Nail dish separately if you went that route, and since we’re talking about micro-dosing, some people prefer the older bowls (such as the 14mm stubby I mentioned) with little basket screens for flower micro-doses, but you can use the other bowls for that too.
It’s pretty flexible and a lot of the differences in bowls/dishes/etc. are pretty minor tweaks to what is an overall solid system.
