Best Complimentary Portable for your Favorite Desktop

This topic seems to come up in many of the favorite desktop threads from time to time, so thought it might be a good idea to put it all in one place.

For the few that don't know, I'm a total e-nano fanboy! There may be something else that comes along some day that changes my mind, but for the last few years nano is the only vape I really need - if at home or close to electric somewhere else. But, sometimes I want to vape when I'm not.

This has lead me down the same path as many with a bad case of VAS - specifically for a portable that does for me what the nano does at home - or at least comes close. I've tried quite a few and like some better than others. My VapMan is cool and fun to use, and I'll never part with it. I do love the VapCap - and continue to use and tweak mine. It is one cool little vape.

But for me, I think the Milaana is the perfect compliment to my nano. It isn't quite the same, though there are similarities. The biggest being the versatile full convection vapor you can pull from it! Whether you want cough inducing clouds or just a few light hits, the Mi can do it easily with just a little practice - same as my nano at home. Plus in this case, they're both wood, use a glass stem with basket screen, and have heater tech that surpasses what most may imagine just by looking at them. This may change soon when my Zion finally arrives, but think the Milaana may still be the first I reach for when I want a true portable because of its size.

So how about it? What is your weapon of choice at home next to the electrical receptacle, and what do you think comes close when you're not?

My vote too, but not everyone would want to spend twice as much on a portable than what their desktop costs. Apparently I had no qualms, lol.

If you want portability and a log, you could get an underdog and a battery pack. Your still tethered to a wire, but much less than any regular desktop.

So here's what I don't get, and what was my motivation for starting this thread. Excuse my ignorance, but the crafty and mighty hit about the same, right? Virtually the same vape in a one battery and two battery configuration, so one stays hotter longer, but essentially the same hit on full batts?

I've never tried either, and at their price points I probably won't unless someone offers me a hit off of theirs. But they are both conduction and convection, right? So basically a really bad ass, highly efficient solo with vapor cooling - right? Or, am I missing something or otherwise confused?

If not, this is why I think the Milaana is more nano-y. Pure convection, as heated air goes straight from the heater through the load with ability to make it hotter or cooler by working the button. Heat goes from heater through screen to load resting on another screen in glass stem. Then right up the stem to me.

Throw on to that that the Milaana costs about the same as the nano, and not twice as much, and I don't get it.

I like the Vap cap to complement my nano. I don't vape away from home very often, but like today, I was hitting the Vap cap in the tool shed during the day and then had the nano ready to go in the living room this evening. I also use the VC to get me medicated at home while I'm waiting for the nano to warm up.

I have a Firefly 1 but it mostly collects dust. I'll take it to the beach or anywhere that would look bad firing up a torch.

I love my UD for home duties paired with the OG VapCap & the Air is for out & about or for in bed use. I tried many times to order the Milaana previously but RBT will never get a cent of my money regardless of how good his vape performs.

Love my Enanos, I bought them over a year ago. I have a Cherry and a Walnut unit. I had been curious about a log vape, so I tried @Enchantre 's one day while we were at the medical Farmers Cannabis Market and liked it.

The Solo comes in handy when I don't want to be tethered by a cord, I liked it so well I bought 2 more and gave one to my brother. My one Solo is almost 3 years old this July. I have the Arizer Air as my second portable that I use regularly.

I also have other portables that I don't use as much. The Solo is the workhorse of portables and it will be around probably when my other ones are toast. It's similar to the Enano but not as high powered and not made of wood. Solo gives good vapor taste and doesn't have s huge oven.

A portable isn't meant to be a daily driver so I eventually bought more portables and eventuslly came back to the Solo. I eventually bought the Enano and loved it right away. Love it's small size and its flavor it produces.

I have two Fireflys I use with unground bud. One has a Lotus WPA shoehorned into the lid and the mouthpiece blocked off. I prefer the flavor of unground bud and slowly sipping through the FF is my go to. Surprisingly good clouds, if you're into that, with the WPA lid though. After a bud has been vaped a few times it goes to my hybrid Steinel heat gun/dual screen vapor whip/bag for the usual 370/400/430 dance. Hey, it works for me...I promise to buy a log soon though guys and gals, honest. So many wonderful choices...Life will be perfect of course once my GH arrives.

Vapcap and underdog. Vapcap gives me conduction vapor when I'm out. Underdog gives me convection vapor when I'm in.

Cloud EVO and a Mighty tick the boxes for me and my tolerance

I also have an Arizer Air, but that's been relegated to the drawer for emergencies now.

Since buying these vapes, I haven't really felt the VAS urge... but I'm sure there's something new just around the corner that will probably trigger it again

The Herbalizer and Mighty are my go to pair of vapes. Both produce top quality vapour and flavour. The Mighty easily holds its own against the Herbalizer in my books.

for a desktop my favorites these days are my HI and UDs, hard to choose one over the other. But for me a portable to compliment either of those is a pretty simple choice with the Vapman taking the prize.

It was Nano (+ JoDa steamroller) and Vapman for me for a long while, but after getting my Firewood, I basically stopped using anything else. It starts producing abundant vapor within about ten seconds, thoroughly extracts microdoses more easily than the Nano, and has no cord!!

Then Milaana came in and mostly took over at home. It makes even more vapor, more quickly; but FW is better suited for smaller amounts, for going out, or when I just don't feel like being as engaged as M's manual unregulated nature demands (which is still not that much).

Between M & FW, I am eminently satisfied. It seems really unlikely that I'll ever use a corded desktop vape again, except as a fallback or perhaps for special occasions.

Well there's the classic Daisy+Lily combo but if pressed I believe the Daisy+Vapman combo is more ideal for me.

That's assuming my Daisy counts as desktop, it's definitely not portable!

I love my UD. But since I got my Milaana I've been using mainly that. It has been considerable cheaper than the UD although probably not anymore. I don't really use a portable. None of my friends use herbs. If I did I would use the dynavap. I have failed at making any complicated vape work; or complicated butane work. The vapman is a charred useless piece of wood and I'd be afraid of trying the lotus. Lily is pretty thoughtfree but I prefer the dynavap.

For those of us who have trouble holding small things still, the Vapman would be a charred useless piece of wood. For the rest of us, it's a great vape. The best of conduction and a particularly good pair with a convection style vape.
