Hello all, due to Christmas I have extra cash and really want to purchase a bag vape now. I'm almost set on the Zephyr Ion but wanted to post here before buying. I cant spend over 350 so dont mention the Volcano please...

I used and dislike Arizers Q because of extremely unacurate temperature display, long heat up time, and many glass parts. So I'd say its outa the question. I guess the Herbalair is supposed to be good? It just seems older and I dont like the separate air pump too much...

So should I just go with the Ion? Or is there another better alternative I'm not aware of? Also could anyone who owns the Ion say how efficient it is...like do you need to pack alot to get it to fill a bag(like the Q). I cant get anymore efficient-less than my Buddha or I'd be spending too much money on herb so thats a factor too I guess.. THANK YOU ALL and Merry Christmas!

The Herbal does get high marks from users as does the Zephyr. I don't think you could go wrong with either for bag blowers.

If temperature accuracy is that important to you, it's already over. Only the Ion will keep you happy.

Hahaha I thougt so the numbers being very close to the temp is important to me because I NEED it to seem professional and perfect or else I will slowly stop liking it....

Whats the smell situation, does filling a bag create any smell besides the vapor you exhale and the open product in your grinder? And I dont see this for cheaper on Ebay... is there anyway to get it for less than $359?

I have only heard good things about the ZI, and it seems like that fits your needs perfectly.

Bag vapes provide a higher air:vapor ratio, so any vapor you do exhale will not be as concentrated as say, vapor from a DBV. I think if you hold your bag hits in for as long as you do other vape hits where you worry about smell then it should be fine.

Would this be considered a safe buy on eBay, I never use eBay it but I heard these are legitimate wholesale deals not scams, or is it?

Im sure the seller is probably legit. the question is whether Zephyr will honor the warranty for ebay-purchased units - something i've heard some other vape makers dont do. IMO, bag vapes with digital controls (and internal fans/pumps) are much more prone to failure. This is why Storz and Bickel offered a 1 year longer warranty on the Volcano Classic (non-digital version), until recently, i think they changed it so they're the same. But, fact is, digital electronics encased in a unit with an extremely hot heat source aren't going to last forever, so make sure that you can at least get the warranty.

Honestly I feel like that might be better cuz hitting the Buddha 3 times a day is starting to get my heart racing and putting me outa breath...that thing hits WAY hard...

I recommend the Zephyr Ion, Extreme vaporizer and the herbalaire. The Oracle is a new bag vape that would be worth checking out as well.

Bruce from Zephyr is very active here. Either email him directly or ask him in the Ion thread.

Maybe it's just you-people are different, but compared to 7th Floor's original vape, the SSV, the DBV is smooth and predictable. Could be you've got it cranked up too high. High temp vapor does hit hard. With a lower temp setting, I found the DBV to be quite manageable.

Valid point max, I had only looked at the post as looking at bag vapes not the reason why.

If the want for a bag vaporizer is due to it hitting too hard with the DBV I would look into that first. Some general things to try if that is the case. Try loading less, using a lower quality, a different strain in the same category, lowering temperature, adjusting inhale, filtering/water cooling the vapor, taking a sip of something cool before taking a draw.

Sorry to misinform I can totally handle and love the DBV, and small hits solve my problem....but anyways I gave it to my mom.. I'm not going over to bags cuz of that, the Ion just seems attractive to me and when the whip comes out it will be perfect. Just today I read ALOT on the LSV and am now stuck between that and the Zephyr. Anyways they are really different obviously, it just seems like 7th Floor is hiding something about the LSV, there is no good info or pics of it. :uhoh:

Hmmm no one from Zephyr is answering or contactable, its getting annoying and I sadly cant purchase one then. I guess I'll get a LSV and then I can give an in depth review anyways.

You know, I notice that a dirty DBV wand adds a ton of drag and makes me feel out of breath taking multiple hits. try cleaning it thoroughly and replacing the screen. The Zephyr Ion is cool though, but your not getting one?

Well now whats looking like the two ultimate vapes to me are the Ion or the LSV. They are the same price but only if I get the Ion on eBay. But I cant contact the company to ask if I can get a warranty if I buy it this way, and I cant get it without one. It has fancy electronics that could die or something, and I simply cant afford it at $359 before tax.

So I am just thinking to get the LSV for $270 total. Its basically looking like the Buddha in a much better form with the ability to vape small amounts(like a stems worth) and still get vapor. The Buddha requires almost .01 to produce vapor.

Unless you nice people know of any reason I should really choose the Ion over it?

You already have a whip vape, a direct draw vape and a portable. If you're lookin' for a great party vape, get the Ion.

Maybe I should ask you this. What is the DBV along with the PD and MFLB NOT giving you?

Sorry I have been super vague and unclear the whole thread. I did say I gave my Buddha to my mom though, and my PD actually stopped working because I spilled oils in it or something. So I'm down to MFLB and just got payed alot so thought I'd get a sick new vape. Fixed temp is just not really for me, I like total control of what I'm getting(even though the PD is at A sweet spot, but not THE sweet spot for all herb), so I am just deciding now between LSV or ZI....just taking a few days to think it over and read up. ;)

Well then, here's something to ponder. The Ion, being that it has a digital readout along with a VERY accurate temp control, you will have more consistency at experimenting with different temps than you will be able to do with LSV.

Thanks to all who helped me, I have just purchased the Ion for $299 from Puffitup.com. They are close to where I live so it should be here in a few days, and that was a great deal with a $60 off coupon.

So lwien, you say the temperature is very accurate? Does anyone know the temp difference from bowl to heating element. If it is very close like the Volcano I am so much happier with this purchase.

And my final question I promise, to lwien actually. I know your a PD kinda guy that appreciates efficiency and I noticed you owned this vape. In the official thread I heard you get a bag and a half from .05 of high grade. I was wondering about your input on this, I know there is no real way to measure because of varying herbs, but an idea would be nice. So how effecient is this thing, could I unload two PD stems into it and get two bags that get me equally medicated? Maybe youv'e tried this haha... :D

The temp accuracy on the Ion is comprable to the 'Cano.

Regarding the efficiency of the Ion to the PD, if memory serves me correctly, the Ion took 3 PD stems worth to get a nice bag going, and yeah, you can get 2 bags from that, but the second bag will have a much higher air to vapor ratio.

You made a great choice, especially at that price. Enjoy..........

So you need .075g to get a decent air to vapor ratio with the ion? Is this the same also if you hit it using a whip also?
