bad luck requiring a bit of advice

Hello,

I am a recent medical cannabis user.

I purchased a Solo II, they seemed reputable and I liked the glass/metal airpath. 2 months of light use and it began to taste/smell like chemicals/solder. I returned it.

I bought a M7XL, it had metal shearings/shavings on it, I cleaned them off and soaked in iso. It tastes of hot metal. I posted the device to my friend who is also a medical cannabis user who owns an M+. He confirmed that it tastes off, "like copper".

At this point I'm becoming frustrated, I don't like inhaling solder/impure metal. I can see from this forum that Dani Fusion 2.0 seems to be a good vape. I would also like an electronic vape for ease of use (I nearly always use it through a bong with a WPA).

I see the Davinci IQ3 boasts a completely clear airpath, unlike the Arizer that has holes in the oven connecting into the body. Although people seem to dislike Davinci for some reason? TinyMight 2 also seems a good choice but the silicon chip isn't separated from the airpath.

Many thanks for any advice.

If you are using at home in a bong, you might as well get one of the wireless diffuser or injector ball vapes, that would be the most pure set up to meet your needs... I'd recommend checking out Cloud Connoisseur Omega Epitome Vulcan

You could also go for a log vape though

I can confirm Dani Fusion 2 is an amazing vape and has no weird taste for me and others who use it. It has a completely clear airpath apart from a cooling coil that is made of metal but does not taste of metal when used.
Can only second all this. The Fusion is up there with my all glass vapour path Solo 3 as one of the best tasting vapes I’ve owned.

The flavours come through so clear and punchy on the fusion, and I like how lee from tabletopbong put it when he said the fusion is “soft” at higher temps. There’s roasty notes but it isn’t that over powering sort of roasty on the S3 and Anvil at high temps that some dislike

Thank you (and the other two users for their replies).

I have looked into desktop vapourisers but I like the portability (moving between a few rooms at home depending on time of day).

From my limited understanding, the desktops seem to be heavy hitters? I am a lightweight.

Before the foul solder taste of the Arizer Solo II, I really loved it's glass stems or glass WPA, you could easily eyeball only 0.1g; and then in session mode I could rip maybe 5 hits through a bong over 10 minutes. I liked the slowness of that, and also multiple smaller hits rather than a one and done massive hit approach.

How about a Vapman then? I heard good things about this device, it tastes good, makes a lot out of small amounts and provides a reasonably slow ritual.

Ok... so I did not know that Vapman also sell a heating station. This seems like what I'm after.

I can use the WPA adapter permanently on the vapman? Like using it with the WPA mounted in the heating station. I can't find a video of anyone doing this on YouTube.

That sucks about the Solo 2. Sounds like you got a lemon. I used my Solo2 for many years and it never did that.

I've been using the Xlux Roffu for a couple years now, and mostly with the WPA and a J-hook or a bong. Bang for buck-wise and safety (harder to burn yourself or your table) reasons, I think it's a pretty good choice. It's easy to clean when using the WPA, and can be used slowly like the Solo, or turned up and extract more quickly.

Maybe look into the TM2 if you think you'd like a glass stem based portable vape.

Good luck!

The ones I suggested are pretty mobile for plugins, worth looking into depending on your setup, they don't have to be heavy hitters, you can still use a tiny amount, just much more efficient and pure, fewest compromises for what you want...

Yeah you don't want any mess produced mainstream session oriented thing really I wouldn't think especially if purity is your main goal... There are so many that will work in a similar way but be better, yes you can use the VM as you described too (but that is pretty similar to the plugins I mentioned, the station still needs to be plugged in, it is essentially like a log itself, but it is used for conduction heating of the VM instead of convection heating of herb in glass stems like log vapes do)

Here's an idea: if you liked the Solo 2, get another Arizer, either another Solo 2 or a 3.

They are generally highly regarded and normally do not taste funny.

Once bitten, twice shy.

My first experience with the original Solo, revised version, was pretty terrible as it was defective and off gassed mid-use, the replacement was fine for a while, but I felt like eventually the flavor spoiled and I was able to swap it again... Happened once more, but they determined there was nothing wrong with it, and sent it on back... I moved on to the Air and sold my Solo later on, then eventually sold the Air too (mostly because of experiencing the artisan glass stem-based pure convection on demand vapes at the time, best version from those now is TM2 overall imo) of course I now have the Solo 3 after being tempted by 2/Max etc in the past, but I just don't really like the session style device, S3 is much better because it is much more versatile, I think they are better designed less likely to have the issues of the past, but it is still a mass produced piece of tech the way it is designed, so I still prefer my artisan vapes much more for their vapor quality most of all, among other things of course

I respect @Shit Snacks opinion here. You’re a medical user but a light weight for individual dosing. I think you’re best served getting a convection plug in like a log or smaller chamber ball vape like a zx. Wait on the ZX and start with a log vape like the underdog log - https://www.underdogvapes.com/vapes-available

For stems get the 14mm glass wpa and get a j-hook from china and you’ll be set for years.

Oops, just noticed the underdog guy is out of stock. Look for an enano maybe…

Or better just go for the phase 3 ZX and cure VAS before it gets worse. Really. If my living situation allowed it, I wouldn’t hesitate.

Also a medical user. The Vapman can vaporise even the smallest amounts (talking about crumbs) very effectively with good taste and great conduction effects. The station is sublime, I call it the Zen Station. It does not work like sitting permanently in the station, it gets heated to take a puff and then you reheat it again and again as long as you wish. The middle piece works alright as a 14mm bubbler connection, if that's what you like.
You might want the 2.0 version for easier cleaning and I suggest olive wood as a start. The micah protection gives you the ability to use it portable with a small butane torch without charring the wood.
