Ascent Vaporizer by Da Vinci (pre-sale thread)

It would be nice to have a short, straight version for folks who don't like oil . . .

I agree T-dub, a lot of us don't use oil and would prefer simplicity. I would prefer a simple GonG attachment to attach a small Hydrotube ( something like the Pinnacle WT). I don't need a lot of glass, just a simple Hydratube to cool the vapor.

Cool, looks like an over done accessory that is most likely to break in no time. Would it be so hard for you post a decent video showing the ascent in action?

The GonG adapter looks great, well done DV and the designer Adobewan (I hope I spelt your handle correctly...)

I'm not being negative here on purpose, but I got to agree with the other guy's...It may be a bit fragile for careless or to stoned people...lol....I'm sure they will sell a lot of those, though.

I'm the same on the oil part....I don't have access to oil's so I don't consume oil's....but I'm hoping that any straight GonG adapter will fit on this o.k, so if I ever do purchase this vape I'll be able to hook it up to some sort of WT....could you confirm this for me please DV ?

I thought it looked fragile too but if the glass tube is thick enough you won't break it unless you do something stupid.

That said a tiny little section, like a regular mouthpiece stem with a 14mm joint, for upside down use would probably be a good idea too...

I don't think it is any more fragile than some of the other glass pieces I have. It is braced by the bracket. Also, for some reason they said it had to be upright, so a small GonG adapter won't work.

Edit: In looking at it a little longer, I would shorten the glass wand at the bottom by at least an inch and that would give you more structural integrity.

Won't it pair just like the solo stem does for us flower users? I can't see why we would need anything more then the vape itself and use something from our arsenal to use with water if we so choose. My solo stem fits perfect into the PN WT and I assume that this will as well. It also fits perfect into the infamous with a reducer and I assume this will as well since they seem to be the same size unless it isn't. If it is close we can work it out without purchasing more stuff.

Yes, we made some adjustments to the final design, as we wanted the temperature gauge to be facing the water piece so you can adjust temperature and also, with the original design, you couldn't open the chamber. Now you can. I was worried about breakage as well, but they were swinging the Gog around the room and it looked pretty stable. I'll see if we can double wall it- that's a good idea.

As I've said, we really were trying to keep the piece upright, but for herbs, no the Ascent can be upside down. I'll see about the simple adapter and if we can get it out..may just be later.

I just need to praise DV for being SO accepting of everyone's suggestions here. It's literally giving us the opportunity to help customize the Ascent and its accessories to our liking before it's released. Truly awesome.

This has been mentioned many times in this thread, but DaVinci does NOT want to pre-order until they can 100% say that units will go out the door without any delays.

Right now, we are looking at potentially May 1st, but that is subject to possibly change.

Anyone can take a pre-order for you now. Has nothing to do with when you will actually get the device.

Yeah, sorry. I mean't for oils. As Dreamerr said for LL it will work in any position.

Even double walled with some thicker clear plastic would make it quite a bit more sturdy, maybe also with the shorter glass on glass stem. The plastic would strictly be for support, because you'd still have the fully glass air path on the inside.

Idk how hard it is to attach plastic to glass or manage to shape glass to fit inside of a shaped plastic tube.

But I'd assume plastic is cheaper than glass yeah?

Just a thought.

The adapter has potential but the Ascent is drawing the center of mass way too far outward. It's begging for a piece to tip over and I care a lot more about that breaking than the adapter.

Most of the weight is hinged on the point right after the GoG, so you definitely want the clamp to cover this point. Starting the clamp right after the GoG will also shorten the adapter, in turn bringing the center of mass inward. Increase the clamp width to about 3/4" for reinforcement (depending on where the screen starts) and now were talking. Then maybe use the current, thinner clamp at the top of the Ascent for added support.

Always a risk you take. But the company seems to really be trying to produce a quality product. And in the case of the previous device, they took care of their customers when there were issues (provided it was brought to their attention). So you're PROBABLY okay.

Did anyone find out if you can use it while charging?

Like their previous product, I think it was said this was the case.

Who said anything about DaVinici? For all we know, some retailers might get a sample "Not For Resale" unit for demo purposes, that they are giving away.

And, if you read the thread, we are getting units before others, so "the masses" most likely means "once the distribution channels are saturated with product for resellers."

thank you sticks, i appreciate you recognizing my biting my tongue and not handing down a point. it was hard, but i will take it one day at a time. Buddha helped provide me a greener path and all is well now
