Arizer Vaporizers - Solo VS. EQ

Since having both the EQ (Well, newer VTower with 1 degree temp adjustment capability) and the M1C1 Solo, am able to watch the heaters of both units as they react to things like draw & ambient temperature and such...

I'm finding the Solo to be far more responsive than the EQ. So basically, when I hit the Solo hard, I can see the heater light (red led) reflects the heater becoming more active and trying to compensate for the loss of oven temp due to the draw and if sustained long enough the level lights drop to reflect the drop in oven temp.

Now the VTower, the heater light pulsates with consistent frequency regardless of what's going on. Idle all the way to taking as hard a draw as possible seems to have no effect on the reaction of the heater (per the flashing red led). Also note, with the DDave mod in place, there is far less draw restriction, much more air flow, so I would have thought the effect on the heater would be much greater.

So, wondering if anyone who has a "real" EQ sees the same? Or does the EQ (with more sensors, in improved locations) react any differently than I describe for the VTower?

If not, would we say the Solo is far more responsive to the conditions/demands of a session than their desktop models?

My EQ works just like you were saying the size speed of my hit seems to have no effect on the heater light.
Hey FrogBoy138, thanks for the reply and info!

Is your EQ a newer model in which the heat adjustments are in 1 degree increments? Is this the same if your unit is left on Fan Speed 3 for a decent amount of time (I would think a minute or two would have impact on the heater load).

Thanks and Vape On!

Not really new 2010 it was the first of the 4.0's I think. Yes adjustments are in 1 degree increments. Fan nothing seems to effect the light for the heater it's random as hell.

Thanks. Same as I'm seeing. Kind of wondering if the temperature we set simply sets a fixed voltage in the unit, that under no cooling from airflow, would maintain at the set temperature. The unit works because the ceramic and glass of the heater absorb brunt of the cooling effect of a draw and the static heating element simply catches up.

I know I can definitely cause the heater to cool down by power drawing on the unit. Vapor production definitely decreases, even replacing the partially spent product with fresh quickly and resuming a session.

Still looking into this...

If the red led is any indication of heater activity, then my tower is definitely not as responsive as my solo.

I always assumed the much more gradual heat changes of the EQ were due to all the glass. I always had to preheat my glass, and thicker glass was harder to keep up to temp. Same with Solo, thicker glass is harder to get big hits quickly. I'm looking for a spare vtower to do a cloud style mod, where the ELB contained within the same piece as the heater (its an 80 cent piece). This thing has definitely more power behind it than the stock configuration demonstrates.
