Arizer Solo Accessories Questions.. Also, LSV?

Hey guys.

After all the research I've been doing I am pretty set on getting the Arizer solo as my next vape. People seem to be happy with the clouds it produces, with its taste, battery life, etc. It seems like a good unit.

I have a couple questions about its accessories though and would like some advice on how you guys would handle my situation.

So currently I have a bong with an ashcatcher. The ash catcher has like an 8 arm perc and a splash guard, it like it and think its pretty nice. The bowl for the ashcatcher is an 18mm joint, and where the ashcatcher to downstem connection is 14mm. Here's a pic, sorry for the shitty quality.

The bong itself just has an ice catch pinch, nothing special and is like maybe 2 feet maybe 2 and a half.

What I am trying to find out from you guys is what would be the best accessories to use with the solo... Should I get the PVHES GonG stems? Should I filter through the ash catcher and then the bong, or just connect at the downstem. Or should I go with something like the wooden stem by eds tnt that will allow me to connect at the 14mm connection and still give ma a stem that is better for on the go use due to its durability?

My second question is regarding the power adapter. Does it make the vape a better vape at all as it does with the mflb? Or does it simply make it so that you can use it while connected to the wall, and not affect performance.

Also, what are your opinions on the Vape Case? Worth the extra 30 bucks on puffitup.com?


My last and final question is, compared to the Life Saber Vaporizer, which do you think would be better for my situation. I am not always going to be able to vape through the bong, and 80% of the time I will be using it will be at the house. (Will have parents around too so can't be too obvious. (Back from college for the summer.))

Summary: I'm looking at getting a PVHES GonG, PVHES, Ed's tnt, power adapter, maybe some keck clips haha if those would help hold all of this together. What do you guys think I should get??

The LSV is not inconspicuous. It is also a plug in unit, so if you are going to be on the go 20% of the time then you probably want the portable. The power adapter only allows the Solo to be used while plugged in, it doesn't make it more efficient. I have a PVHES straight stem, a PVHES stealth adapter, and the straight and bent stock stems. I've only ever used the straight stock stem, but I admittedly don't use my Solo very often. My straight stock stem mates with a 14mm female joint.

As far as using it with your glass setup, it's all about experimentation.

I think ash catchers are too much trouble for vapor. One more piece to move, clean, and therefore possibly break. Let be serious, they're only good for extra diffusion with vapor. I only use ash catchers for... well catching ash; not that I have ash to catch anymore. There's nothing wrong with using an ash catcher for vapor, I just think its unnecessary. Like Deadshort said, its all about experimentation.
The solo is much more discreet and its significantly smaller than the LSV, which I consider to be a pretty beastly vape if you haven't seen one in person. Me being a college student too, I understand your situation and I vote for the Solo. My NO2 has served me well for a couple years, I don't know what I would've done without my portable. I just ordered a LSV and I'm getting rid of my NO2, I only use oil/wax on the go now so I don't have a need for one anymore.

Get the 14mm PVHES and buy a reducer/expander to pair it with the 18mm when you want to use it. That way you get the best of both worlds!

What vape are you using now? Would you consider LSV for home and MFLB (or something similar) for vaping on the go?

I'd get the solo. I own both, but the lsv has been at a friends house for the past 3 weeks or so and I've realized I don't really miss it that much.

I currently own an mflb. I feel it is good for its stealthyness, but I have a hard time getting super baked with it. It feels like it take too much effort. For maintaining a [3] or [4] throughout the day, it's fine I'm just looking for something that's going to pack more of a punch.

Ideally, I'd like to get the VapeXhale Cloud... but I can't find any good deals on it.

Answer this question. Is your mflb sufficient enough for the 20% of time you're on the go? If not, then it sounds like you need a solo; look at the vaporblunt too, there's a couple in the classifieds. However if you decide that the mflb gets the job done when you're on the go, the get the LSV or Cloud. Or get a LSV and a heavier hitting portable for around the same price as a Cloud. The LSV can be had for pretty cheap, cheapest I've seen is $153 to $165ish depending where you get it.

With puffitup.com having such a great deal on the solo right now, and the fact that I can't find a deal on the cloud... it's making me feel as if I should get the solo... save up a bit more, and get the cloud maybe next summer when I come back from college. Unless I could find a good deal on the cloud... then I would go for it haha.

My opinion is that the Solo with PVHES stems (or stems I've modified myself) can actually fill in very nicely for an LSV-caliber home unit. Plug them both into a tube and they'll both fill with similarly dense vapor. I've had alot of vaporizers including a DBV and LSV; those two are gone while the Solo remains, and will remain for the foreseeable future unless the Ascent turns out to be the all-singing, all-dancing, all-glass portable we hope it will be. The Solo is a fantastic deal at the increasingly low prices you can find it at. While I can coax large clouds out of the MFLB with practiced technique, the Solo produces big clouds with absolutely no learning curve, making it a wonderful vaporizer to share.

The power adapter decreases heat up time a little and so you could argue that it probably is helping heat retention a little too, leading to slightly bigger clouds. Realistically, the performance difference between battery power and the power adapter is very minor in my opinion. If I were starting over with the Solo I would get an Ed's wood stem, a 14mm PVHES Gong Turbo stem, and I would consider the power adapter. I personally dislike the stealth adapter and think the Solo is plenty stealth if you just drop the mother in a coffee cup with Ed's stem or even a clean glass stem.

The last dealer to offer a 'deal' on the Cloud was breaking their agreement with VXL. You might get a free grinder or something but that's about it.

That is what I'm thinking. If I have the solo, I'll be less likely to break the cloud trying to bring it to friends houses and stuff.

Lastly, for the wood stem... Do you suggest the grandillo? Are they a pain in the ass to clean?

I say get the 14mm because you can then use that in any piece with the aide of a 19mm --> 14mm flush mount adapter, which are easy to find. The extra airflow of the turbo is great, I'm not aware of the $ difference as I got mine in trade, but I do enjoy it thoroughly. The PVHES stem is better than a stock stem for hitting natively or through glass. The wood stems can never be cleaned 100% like the glass can but I don't find they get very dirty at all, the wood sucks up alot of the resin and you can always pass a through pipe cleaners or the like through them if things really got gnarly. As for what wood to get, that's all personal preference and I think they'll all work functionally the same, they'll just be aesthetically distinct and carry their own unique flavors.

Both vaporizers are great...but the Solo should be the first in line.
It will medicated you very well (the LSV can "rape" you but you get much dark abv and usually a bigger load)
I think everyone should own a solo...then all the rest is optional...when I'm alone the solo is just good enough for 99% of the time...

All I have to say is I love my pvhe gong and stem. In general the turbo seems to be a tossup. Some people really like it and others dont. The reason being is that it allows alot of airflow but too much airflow isnt good since the heater will have a hard time catching up. I ended up going with the regular pvhe gong and stem and am definitely happy. The draw seems less restrictive but its never too nonrestrictive. Seems to be a good balance. I have only heard mixed stuff about the wood stems when compared to pvhe or even the stock stems. Flavor seems to be better with glass and also easier to clean and from what I hear better hits.
