Anyone vaporize Kanna (Sceletium tortuosum) before?

I was reading about this plant kanna...looks very interesting, see article below:

i read sniffing it is the best way to administer then smoking, i wonder if vaping it works!? if so might be cool to add to a bowl of green...people say it enhances the high...

i vaped 2 bowls of kanna fri night, it has a stress reducing effect and gave me a buzz. I waited about 30min then decided to vap some green I do feel as though it enhanced the high. I feel it made the high more positive and slightly stronger, i was more in my head. I need to experiment with this stuff more, maybe combust a bowl or two... ill keep this post updated.

what is the temp range for vaping kanna? is in the same range as MJ? can they be vaped together no problem? how does it taste?

So I finally got my kanna after waiting for 2 months while it took the slow boat from South Africa to Canuckistan. I ordered from this guy for those interested. What I got was in powdered form. Now I'm leary of sniffing stuff I'm not sure about so even though sniffing is supposed to be the best way to feel the effects I thought I'd just try it over some herbs. I chose my SSV as the best implement for the job.

One mini whip bowl (.2) with about .1 of kanna powder on top as a dose. Taken to deep brown I decidedly felt stoner then I would normally feel had it been just herbs in the bowl. So far I think it does a good job at potentiating the high, one of the few ethnobotanical I've tried that has had a noticeable effect. Taste wise , I find it hard to describe , maybe a liquorice undertone? I didn't find it over powering but then again I don't have the best palate either :/. I'll report back my findings as I get better acquainted with it.

ive never heard of that. i have a friend that mixes his weed with wormwood and ive smoked it before. deff adds to the high.

might give this a try after my t-break.

I Know this thread is pretty old, but might now somebody has an answer for the temperature question. I also bought some kanna powder a few weeks ago. I tried to smoke it in the bong, but without any effect.

So it would be nice if somebody know, if it works to vapor it? Especially in which temperature...

I mixed it with some herb and it seemed to have a nice sedating effect. Funny, but not unpleasant smell and taste. I vaped it a few years ago in my original unit, a Vapor Cannon. Not sure the temp - just cranked it up til it felt right. That old cannon is not very efficient, but very effective.

Just start with a low temp (150 C, 300 F) and move up until you get vapor. Kanna isn't on any herb list I've seen for vaping temps. It does get as a natural anti-anxiety, anti-depressant herb.

You should not use it if you're taking a presciption anti-depressant (which I would advise anyone against taking- natural is the way to go IMO).

Interesting. I will try it as soon as I get my Volcano Vaporizer. Right now I only have my MF Launch Box, who probably isn`t workable with Kanna powder.

So Kanna works similar like a ssri? Because I take sometimes drugs like lsd, shrooms, 2c-X and other psychodelic substances. So there could be a bad interaction together with Kanna like with classic ssri?

Actually I vaped it on the MFLB mixed with green. I used the power adapter. I don't remember the temperature but it was something over the middle, almost 3/4 I think, that's what I usually use.
IIRC it has to be used with caution or not to be taken at all if the user has hypothyroidism.

Kanna is known as a "potentiator" hence the increased effects in conjunction w/ mj. It can be taken orally as well. Please be careful with respect to the amount used and the strength of the Kanna. I have experienced the effects of "serotonin sickness" as a result of too large of a dose of Kanna. It is not a feeling/experience I would wish on anyone. I have used the mentioned link (shaman's garden) and the product has been very good quality. If there is any question as to the quality or authenticity of the Kanna, do your research. Enough warning, Kanna is a great addition to the vaping spectrum. I have always used mj temps to good results when vaping Kanna alone.....

Well i got this UC kanna extract and it makes really big clouds... makes me sedated and relaxed.. like a drugged monkey... lol..
You can even snort it.. i am not kiddin. xhaha it is very stimulative in small and sedative in large amounts..
Active substance is messembrine which is known to be and SRI. I tried at the end of psilo trip and got me really back into things.. can't believe how wonderous mood alleviating effect kanna has...
Be careful not to overdose.. this shit is strong i need like 0.05 vaporized.. or snorted.. It says you can caps it and put under tongue but.. i won't be trying this.. cause might be too overwhelming..
Anyway this herb is very nice and for sure can substitute and gets off SSRI from what i read .. i really enjoy having it ..It seems like that gram will last forever and can be found really cheap..

I like vaping kanna (aka sceletium tortuosum) in my MFLB. It gives a nice buzz and has a calming effect. Its definitely worth trying and is a potentiator. One thing you need to know. There are many vendors selling kanna, but you don't always get kanna when they send you something. Let me explain. My first order of kanna was from IAmShaman (aka Shamans Garden). It was kanna for sure. Looked like it, smelled like it, tasted like it. Next order I placed with IAmShaman I received something that looked and smelled completely different. Turns out it was something called Slender Leaved Ice Plant (aka Mesembryanthemum nodiflorum). It looked like pale pale yellow thin stalks, and had a very salty taste. Nothing like real kanna. Now, Slender Leaved Ice Plant does contain mesembrine, the active ingredient in kanna, but not in the same amount. Basically its not as good as kanna, and IAmShaman was pretty uncool sending it to me when I was paying the premium for kanna. Since then, I have found the best kanna to be from Bouncing Bear. Get the "smoker's cut" and grind it down yourself to the consistency you want if you want to vape or smoke it. Don't worry when you see some stems in there. The stems actually contain more mesembrine than the leaves.

Ha. I went to the link you posted above and checked it out. I see kanna.co is also selling "Slender Leaved Ice Plant" and calling it kanna. Must be a common scam. At least they're not calling it "sceletium tortuosum".

Just took 70mg of the UB40 Extract on top of some mild potency herb,and it delivered a great experience,which reminded me of that quote.
Some vendors seems to have Kanna resin ,which is extracted via alcohol. Interesting enough the end product is also water soluable ,i have read more than a few reports on people vaporizing it and get good effects. I bet that this e-liquid is just the Resin dissolved in PG/VG and filtered .

Just gave a first try to the UB40 extract and I prefer a lot the effects while vaping than with a snuff with the UC formule, effects are a sort of clear high with a relaxing body effect (UC was more a speed like effect). In another hand the UC formule irritate my nose even with only a pair of small snuff per day. I'll stick with the vaping usage for now, seems to works better for me.
I still get a lot of UC... can I dissolve it in VG/PG? Is it clean enough to be vaped in my Veco tank?

Since my package was lost the seller had to resend it and added a Kratom e-liquid small jar... I mixed it with reclaim (filtered&winterized) and some drops of terps&liquidizer in a 50/50 ratio but the final product doesn't hit me harder than my classic formula without Kratom... maybe I need to open another thread since it's off-topic but is somebody else tried Kratom (tried once in tea and got small reliefs but nothing to mention, it was a 0.5g dose of 25x extract of red kratom)?

Glad you like it ! You should also try Kanna leaves since they taste better than the ub40 ,Kanna resin from ebay/lotus extract a powerful stuff and Happy Honey .
I share your feeling for the UC extract. IDK if it is clean enough to mix into a e-liquid,maybe if you filter afterwards.
Kratom has never done anything to me other than upset my stomach.Wild Lettuce and Wormwood resin/extracts have better effects in that department.}
I saw that above i posted info that kanna is an SSRI ,it is an old misconception it is NOT SSRI, IT IS AN SRI,which is way different ,more in the stimulant class.
