Hello to all, this is such a great thread I bought a 4 cup expresso pot at a local store today!
I read through the whole thread and do have some questions and concerns for those that have experimented and succeeded, failures are cool too, we learn from them, also those who have feedback.
So from my understanding, its 1 cup of water for each cup of oil, decarbed flowers and set on the stove at medium high heat, which should take anywhere from 10-15 minutes to extract, then put in the freezer overnight! And the water seperates from the oil. And Bam! You have magic oil.
So a few things.....my body is not coconut oil friendly, so I have been infusing Olive oil with decarbed flowers (240° for 40mins)and set in a mason jar on the stove in a hot water bath for 25mins. I have had success and what I get is something that is not too strong and its not too weak, so you can say I have been successful because its just right for me.
I can see how the water may help stop the olive oil from detiorating. My concern is that I use 1.25grams for one cup of oil. I looked at the filling chamber for the expresso maker and 1.5grams would be dancing in there.
Would it be beneficial to add more flowers to fill up the space?, adding more oil to complement.
Also I fine grind my flowers I looked at the holes in the chamber and possibly "some flowers can get through" would it be ideal for me to put a coffee filter in the middle to further filter the particles? What do you think? Thanks eveveryone.
