I have seen reference of the company, they are in Shenzhen, China. They make e-cigs as well and appear to be making some sort of copy of the Iolite but I see them using the name Iolite as well. Sounds fishy to me!

Let us know what you find please! Oh and nice to see you around Clear :D

could it have been possible they got your email from etsy? i just myself read for the first time, yesterday in the etsy thread here, about them releasing personal info about users to the web. honestly, not surprised my self to see more and more of this happening, but could be linked in them contacting you.

I sent these guys an email some time ago after I saw it on alibaba asking for more information, just to satisfy my own curiosity. In fairness they did reply promptly, but the info was a little sparse:
Dear Mr. WatTyler,

How are you?

Thanks for your interest in our design, this is a portable digital vaporizer.

To let you know our products, enclosed please find is pictures and price.

Thanks,

Emily

Not a lot of info in response to my request! Anmd I did ask about operation and materials. It's just given me more questions, and certainly hasn't tempted me in the slightest.

Looks like the mouthpiece/bowl/stem design of the Iolite, with a battery and LCD temp display. No info on any of the battery/charge/heater specs or building materials. I can see it would be good if you happened to forget what month or year it weas though. That will be good for keeping track of your 2 year warranty!!! Or how long you've been waitng for the warranty response!!!

Overall hardly a good sales pitch. And it doesn't seem to have worked on anyone else either as I haven't yet seen them on sale with online retailers in the west.

I do think they're legit though- they certainly repsonded quick enough. The use of the bait, in this case the iolite, in advertising (edit: the adverts on alibaba/their website) is just the way I think for some of these chinese factories- buyers respond to the ad hoping for the 'bait', only to be told: "that's our old design. Our most recent design has changed and now looks like this..." (and show you their own model).

I'm still interested to see where the chinese manufacturers are going with these designs, even if I don't want to breathe vapor through them. I still think there will come the day in this developing and expanding market when the chinese designers/factories will develop and present something more credible. Don't forget where e-cigs were invented, and where a majority of them are still produced, along with loads of other more high end technical and electrical shite. There's a long way to go yet, but if the vape market continues to develop like it has over the past decade, it surely can't be long. :2c:
