Anyone able to still smoke and vape?

I only liked joints when someone else was around to share it with. So mainly i had a bong i would hit. I wasn't really smoking during COVID so i didn't link of all the consequences of sharing.

I have only been vaping since this past May so i am relatively new to it. Initially i had mediocre results and i was not really feeling it. This was a PAX Plus device. I tried concentrates in the PAX but found that to be very messy.

But to be very honest this web site has helped me immeasurably with my PAX & now it is decent as i have learned some hacks. I still want a POTV Lobo but that will work until i can swing the Lobo.

But getting back to the question of still smoking, my bong use has dwindled considerably and the one thing that i immediately notice when returning is the harshness of the smoke on my lungs. I think to myself why did i like smoking in the first place? Edibles are ok too but i never enjoyed them as much as smoking or vaping and the high is never as good as a bong hit or with my vape(s). The other thing i don't miss with smoking is the smell on me. No one else smokes or vapes in my family and i get frequent comments. Vaping smells so much less and the smells do not linger as long. But my PAX still stinks after a session or a bit while charging.

Now the only time i immediately reach for the Bong is if my vapes are not ready or contain a strain i don't want to consume a heavy sativa like late at night. I do find consumption of sativas late in the day messes with my sleep patterns. I need a heavy Indica then or else i won't be able to fall asleep until 3 am. I also have multiple vapes beside my PAX. I have both a Boundless Terp Pen Spectrum and a Puffco Pivot for concentrates which has a whole new world of exploration.

I only vape. I tried smoking cigarettes and weed but realized that I'm not a fan. I'm more of an exotic type of guy, haha)) That's why I hit my Geek Bar Pulse X Platinum Edition every day, and I am delighted with what it brings))

My approach when I started vaping was to expand my consumption options, not to limit them. I never feel like I am missing out regardless of the form I choose. It's all good.

Really enjoying Lobo, made the switch month ago. Had some accumulate kief that I felt should be smoked. But when I opened the pipe box, that burned smell. That ash, tar, just dirty smell immediately reminded me dry herb vaping is the way.

As of late, I use an all glass path ( pretty short too - just the buddah wand with a cork screw mouth piece I made ) and its very close to smoking and if I ever get close to combusting the feedback is immediate so its easier to avoid reaching that point

I combusted twice over the weekend, learning the BallR cap and a cyclone 2 torch... Hotter quicker than what I'm used to. Anyway. The Dynavap stank to me so bad I couldn't use it again. Soaking in 91% right now.

It's a little surprising considering I definitely combusted for four months before DHV...

The LONGER you stay away from combustion and then try it again those feelings about why you got away from it immediately come rushing back ! LOL

I had to pack my vape away on vacation, so I decided to roll a J for that night. I got almost halfway through before deciding that I did not want to get high that badly. Yuck.

Still enjoy smoking (gasp!) a fatty before doing yard work. I find the highest lasts me longer, and is easier to obtain from a joint than 4 sessions on a vape. I don't vape when I go backwoods camping, just one more thing to carry. So I fucked combustion first 14 years ago, and then brought it back to supplement according to conditions.

For me it really depends on the quality of the herb for smoking. For example I vape/dab all the time for years every day, that is what satisfies me typically, but lately I have grown some Tom Hill Haze, and the bud is so potent and the style of high is so clean that I can smoke it all day long and be completely satisfied. For me if smoking it has to be pretty killer, or I feel like I need more.

Well, that passing and sharing I don't miss anymore. I gave it up after I caught a real nasty infection from a friend I was sharing a quick joint with outside. She was already a bit sick, and got real bad the days and weeks afterwards. Me too then. It took me several month to recover. And I totally learned my lesson. It all started with a joint, so no more joint sharing :hmm:. Then, a month later, the pandemic hit and we all (well, many) re-evaluated our behavior. So why is passing a joint around (even to strangers) still a thing? No wonder I had so many colds in the past.

But, yeah I totally miss this ritual of consuming together. I hope we can find ways to put that social aspect of consumption more into focus with vaporizers. That's kind of a health aspect, too.

I feel most virus is spread via air, and even if you hadn't shared the joint, just standing beside them while they breathed on you for a few minutes is a great way to catch someone else's illness.

I'm in between as well atm. I hate how nauseous combustion can make me, yet as I'm a Brit, the tobacco in the spliffs keeps me coming back. I'm hitting my Tinymight 2 as I'm writing this, with a spliff in the ashtray. I don't want to smoke it, but I'm going to. You know what I mean?
The most baffling thing is how vastly superior vaping is in every way, yet I cannot even seem to force myself to commit.
My girlfriend is a smoker and she's tried my vape and she "doesn't like the taste", so quitting is gonna be hard as we share our bud and she doesn't like vaping so most of the time we end up smoking during the day and I'll be vaping my ass off at night when she's asleep lol.

Honestly, the effects of smoking are catching up to me and I'm only fucking 23 this year. I genuinely want to quit and make the switch permanently but there's a lot of obstacles in my way. Things like a t-break are absolutely not an option either, for my physical and mental health lmao.

It's tough to cut tobacco out, speaking as someone who smoked baccy joints for over 20 years. I dropped tobacco first, then fully switched to vaping. It's tough, but you've just gotta do it.

If your gf isn't going to change then I'd be cold and split your weed and force yourself to stick. The only problem is when you completely drop smoking and she still is, then she's going to stink of smoke all the time 🤣

You make a good point tbf, yeah I've been smoking baccy spliffs since I was about 14, so quite a bloody while now and I'm sick of it. The more I vape the less high joints even get me, I finish one these days and I'm like "what was the point of that, I could have vaped that and been halfway to the moon".

Yeah I mean it's not her fault if she doesn't like the taste of vaped cannabis, as wild to me as that is, so yeah seperate stashes should be the way. I can handle the smoke smell, grew up with smoker parents so I've basically always stunk of bud. They're great, don't get me wrong, but it's their health issues from constant smoking that also makes me want to switch to vaping. My mother is approaching the big 50 and has COPD, Emphysema and various other issues, primarily from smoking. She's fine, still chuffing away lmao.

It really is a willpower issue at the end of the day. I have a fuckin e-cig box mod but I don't trust the juices anymore. I'd rather not inhale melted confectionary syrup into my lungs any more than burnt plant matter. I'd probably be better off having a small roll up and vaping a bowl. Far less baccy consumption as we typically use RAW king size papers, and you can imagine the amount of baccy that goes into that as well as the bud, so it's hardly healthy.

There are always nicotine patches and nicotine gum you could try. I went cold turkey and increased the amount of weed I was vaping to cover it until I was free of the withdrawal.

I heard you can get them prescribed by a GP. I don't typically like "healthcare professionals" (read: professional drug pushers) but I'll deal with them to save me paying the extortionate prices of almost 20 quid for a pack of patches. If that's a thing here in the UK I've defo gotta look into it.
Yeah I have bongs and pipes n whatnot so theoretically I could drop tobacco, smoke some pure puff through a pipe/bong and be vaping, then phase out smoking entirely when that inevitably makes me feel ill.

I wanted to quit tobacco—that’s how I started vaporizing 4 years ago.

I live in Switzerland, where it’s common to mix tobacco and weed. I wasn’t able to quit tobacco completely, but I now vaporize 100% of my weed, and just smoke a few cigarettes on the side. No more mixing! And it’s much better—there’s a real saving on weed, the high lasts longer, there's way less fatigue, and the flavor… being able to vaporize indoors without lingering smell is amazing, and it’s discreet too.

My girlfriend still likes to smoke a joint from time to time. But now, without me.

And smoking a cigarette after vaporizing brings that slightly sedative effect we love—those of us who’ve been mixing since we were young.

The closest experience to smoking a joint with a vape is passing around the prefilled rosin cartridge.

It's why they are the #2 seller, just behind pre-rolled joints.

Most of the newer cart/pod systems don't even have a button, you just inhale.

Nothing else even comes close as far as a truly portable, passable, pocketable solution.

Also the cost of entry for these devices is about $20 for a battery which is why millions of people are doing that rather then buying our dry herb devices. I could talk about this subject for hours!

What you are referring to is people with taste and those who don't have much really. Some people drink craft beer and are beer snobs, others drink budweiser.

Going even further I'd say many of us myself for sure are big weed snobs too, I won't partake of the legal market, I am too much of a pot snob to like that crap :)
The better the herb the more of a waste it seems to burn it

Actually there are some herb types that actually don't give the full effects as vapor for some reason.

Tom Hill Haze is known for it, hazes in general don't seem to get one as superbly high in vapor inhalation as opposed to a few smoked tokes.

Nobody knows why.

And good Tom HIll Haze is excellent herb.
