Any Wim Hof practitioners on this forum?

Fuuuuck yes, Ive been doing it at random times every day lately, it helps my overall cause (physical/mental) substantially. Helps me sleep better, helps keep fatigue levels down at work or anywhere else. And call me crazy, but when I get a good one in right before bed, my joints dont feel as stiff the next morning when I wake up.
As someone who has done ice baths before learning about Wim Hof, and done plenty of iceman breathing without ice baths, I have a theory that the breathing by itself is what helps the body, more than the cold water. The cold water is just the medium that forces you to breathe in such a manner, so ultimately its the oxygen intake, not the cold water, that provides the body with all of these benefits.
My cannabis consumption has no influence on any of this one way or the other.

When I vaped in the past it helped, but in winter it fucked with my brain little bit and when there was ice I once or twice was like Im too high and comfy I will came another time. But everytime I overcomed these pussy overthinking flows I was immensely rewarded! btw I used to hold the vapor in, wim hof style :D

simplywonderful,
I realllllly want to get into it. My wife and I just finished our little apartment remodel so now that I have a place to do it I really want to. I hear it's great for joint pain which I struggle with.

Its amazing, I started with cold showers too, got mild arthritic pain when I was starting and it went away :) But if your water is flouridated I would not do it there

Because of Wim I do cold showers in the winter, however in Texas it's not possible to do this in summer. Turn on the cold faucet and lukewarm water comes out - terrible! But since I'm in the lonely blue dot of Austin we have Barton Springs for a cold (though not icy) dunk. When the weather is triple digits it's the only salvation from the heat!

A couple weeks ago I was in Banff (Canada) and decided to swim in Bow Lake - so cold! But Wim's breathing exercise helped. Had my goggles on and tried to swim underwater but at that temperature I couldn't regulate my breathing when submerged (it seemed impossible to hold a breath when it's so cold). I'll never forget the wall of turquoise when you're down there, 360 degrees all around you. Probably without the calming breathing technique I would have never gotten more than up to my ankles in that water - it was BONE chilling. Probably without the technique I'd never have this incredible memory! If nothing else I believe you learn how to focus your mind and do things you'd never expect go be able to do before.

Phew, excuse the rambling, on day 5 of a t-break and ... wait why am I on a vaporizer forum?!?

Beautiful, the nature is always better choice than faucet. If you spend more time submerged in the water right about 45 mins when the sun start to set, its get your body more cold. I realized that I do not feel a difference now, maybe just slight one when I compare springs now in summer when its really hot outside and to winter freezing temperatures. Texas, Austin what a beautiful place :)
I just realized that I was doing excuses, making my breath shorter and quicker, but now when I did it again slowly deeply, fully exhaling and inhaling to full capacity, it got me to that place. I always feel that something shifted in my perception.

The same sensation struggling with holding breathing when its ice cold I experienced it couple times, I was able to hold it for very short period of time. Did the bone chilling effect, that calm coldness stays with you for some time afterwards? Did you ever encountered weird sensation in joints? In winter I felt numbness but just in one of five fingers on the foot for a while, do you experience this pump like feeling when getting out of water and then total bliss?

Because lot of cool people are here, I decided to quit even vaping to see if I can get high naturally just with my body breath/movement yoga/qigong, and Its working, today when I did the breathing, my eyes were indian and I felt quite baked( not vaped for months) I experienced it years before when doing insanity max 30, I was always high after completing it.
Once doing the breathing I experienced dmt release, Its fascinating what your body is capable of.

Im very grateful for being alive and that my body serves me. Hopefully I will be able to help my body heal more, not sure if I will get to vaping, maybe in future for medicinal benefits, but hopefully I will evolve :D

Oh yes, how did I write that post without even mentioning the effects of the Wim Hoff method! Everything you write is true, I experience calmness and energy at the same time, if that can make sense. As if I had a lot of coffee but suffered no jittery feelings - just very ZEN, wide open third eye, and the physical feeling like anything is possible. In other words, like being high without drugs. It stays with you for awhile, I think if I were disciplined with doing breathing exercises while at room temperature I might be able to achieve a similar effect. The ice cold water forces you to regulate your breathing, otherwise you wouldn't be able to sustain staying in it.

There is even some science to it, what the breathing does to you at a cellular level. I really enjoyed this video (it is the one that got me into the Wim Hoff method in the first place):
