Any suggestions for portable Wax Vape pen?

I really like the idea of vaping wax whenever and wherever i want, so i have been looking into portable wax vaporizers. I read about a lot but people seem to be having mixed experiences for all of them. A local dispensary is selling the vapor cone elite for 60$ with herb attachment and prefilled cartridges for $60 a pop. Has anyone tried this? I also read about the Cannastick but it seems to good to be true and all the people talking about it seems to be working for the company. It does have a physical location and a phone number, but the reviews are approved before being posted which is ALWAYS very shady. Im looking for an electronic wax vaporizer pen, preferably one i could refill with wax myself AND also buy oil or wax cartridges for. I would like to spend around $25 - $120, as i am a college student low on funds. I would like this to be a way to save money.

I'm thinking in the price range and what you've posted, the Vapor Brothers Dabbler is the way to go. After reading through several of the dab pen threads and trying a few myself (vaped, G pen, etc), it seems the Dabbler is one of the higher quality pieces. The Omicron from delta 9 is also an awesome little device, but the cartridges are different than doing the dab style hits. It can also be a bit more pricey as there are so many fun attachments to buy.

TLDR; Dabbler from Vapor Brothers, can be had for a little under a 100, high quality lower-tier vape pen. Omicron is a bit more spendy, but Delta 9 also offers the O-phos. These are the ones to take a look at seriously, I think. You can spend less money, but you run the risk of getting a cheap piece that won't last, and will need to be replaced for more cash. Cheers, mate.

Have you heard of the "Dragon Vape Pen" ? A lot of dispensaries are selling cartridges for those and a local shop is selling those with an advertised " 3 voltage settings" for $55, and they say if it breaks you can bring it in for a few one. What do you think? What are in these cartridges? Pure hash oil / wax or glycerin ?

I tend to stay away from anything pre-loaded, cartridge wise. Someone else might weigh in if they've tried the Dragon pen. The one I'm looking at here seems to have an atomizer tank, likely a re-branded e-cig tank. Most likely glycerin/oil in it but I can't say for sure. If you have access to concentrates, I'd go with the Dabbler or the Omicron or O-phos. Relying on dispensaries for pre-loaded cartridges can be so dodgy.

I agree raoul, you should look at delta 9 vaporizers. both the o-phos and the omicron v2 are great options in your price range but cartridges are about $10 a piece. If you treat them right though they are worth it compared to any other options in your price range.

You could go really cheap and get a 510 threaded ego battery a 510 to m601 thread adapter and still use the omicron carts and it would be similar to the o-phos but the adapters can be iffy. Just remember though delta nine is a very active member here and their customer service is outstanding, if you have a problem with it you can post here and most times get an answer right away

That's true, while looking at locations for dragon cartridges, they are all the same price, set at 60. The price for wax seems
To be competitive though. I am new to using wax/oils/vapes but the concept seems super dope. I have gotten dab hits from hash bars and being able to take those hits on the go sounds way to cool not to research. I'll look into those

The o-phos looks good but is it oil only or can I put wax in it?

The dabbler seems very cool to but seems to only have a 1 year warranty for the battery

Oh thank you I will do that. People reviewing the o phos keep referring to the omicron and you have me a site for the omicron, so does that mean they are the same or do they just use the same cartridges, therefore able to vaporize the same substances?

The O-phos is a bit smaller and less expensive than the omicron. They're both made by the same company, Delta 9. I believe they both use the same style of cartridge, 2.4 ohms. Thus, they're generally able to vaporize the same substances. ;) Check the Omicron thread here on the site for tips/hints how to fill the cartridges. They take a bit of playing around with, but once you get the hang of it they're really slick.

RaoulDuke007,
Also keep in mind that Omi carts are meant to load between .5 and 1 g at once, giving you somewhere in the region of 400 hits per load. Whereas the Dabbler is intended to load a couple of daps at a time, giving you 3-10 hits.

Neither one is better than the other, I find dabbler/skillet carts retain taste better than the Omi carts, but the downside is that dabbler/skillet carts aren't nearly as portable (because they need frequent reloading).

Ohh OK. I was wondering why the dabber didn't have a compartment to store wax in
It looks like I'll be getting the oo-phos, but the instructions stated it will not work with less than .5 so loading .2 wouldn't work but wouldn't that mean once the wax melts down to .2 it'll stop working and .2 will always be wasted? It would also mean if I loaded .5 and had a session then stopped, I would not be able to keep hitting it after a couple times cause it will be less than .5. What do you think? Does that make sense?
400 drags off of one gram of wax seems to go top be true, but I was thinking of using a counter to test it when I get mine.

you can get the last .2 by taking the cartridge apart after it dies, it will work when it gets below .5 but it's best to load it with .5 then when it gets low to it off with another .5 bringing it up to about .7, it will still hit when it gets below .5 but then you will just have to fill it sooner. My first cart I started with loading between .3-.4 and it still worked

I've tried a bunch of pens. If you want to spend very little you can try the microg/cloud style pens. The biggest problem with those is that you add enough for a few hits. The first couple of hits are good an after that they taste terrible. They do hit hard.

There are a bunch of pens based around ecigarettes. Most are like the Ego-T. With these you load cartridges. If you watch ebay you can get one for less than $30 if you want to try it. My issue with these pens is that I've found the cartridges I've tried to be inconsistent and not that reliable.

By far the best I've tried is the Omicron. I've got a Persei too and really haven't mastered it yet. The Omicron cartridges are easy to load. With an adapter you can use just about any type of cartridge. The hits are great. I haven't tried the Ophos it might be just as good as the Omicron. As others have said the Omicron is probably the best choice. You can reload cartridges.

Yes I think I'm going to get the o phos because it seems smaller and more discreet and uses same carts as the omicron. Also the warranty lasts for a year and I'd be willing to buy another better one later, by that time more vapes should be available. Where can I get adapter? I usually don't vape or use wax so a beginner one should be cool for now. the persei is apparently "not for beginners'

When you order cartridges from Delta9 vales they come with an adapter. Or, you can also buy a package of adapters from them. It's worth it to get a couple of adapters they come in handy. The Omicron Light seems to be the replacement product for the Ophos although both are available.

I'm confused why we are talking about adapters, the omicron cartridges are a direct fit in the o-phos. you would only need adapters to run a different type of cartridge or if you go with an ego battery, you need an adapter to run omicron cartridges. Am I way off base here?

You're right. If OP is getting the O-Phos, no need for an adapter.

that's what I thought, I was just coming back to edit my last post because my buddy ordered an o-phos to my place and as luck would have it, it was just delivered today, first thing I did was fire it up with one of my omicron carts and it hit just like my v2

Sorry about that we were taking about an adapter to allow use with regular non omicron carts, with the ophos.

With the dabbler you avoid the cost of carts, you can also spare half a gram of wax with a friend and load your o,25g dab after dab without having to load any cart with at least o,5.
You can also load a "big" chunck that will melt with time (not half a gram but more than a couple dabs). Enough for me when I'm out. And if I want to be stealthy, everyone thinks I'm vaping an E-Cig.
I don't own any other pen or THCS product but I don't have any urge to, as well. Buying carts, loading them (and if I buy 3 types of wax? load 3 carts?), throwing them cause I loaded them wrong. IMHO this is the past with oils, not the future.

justcametomind,
Dabbler may eventually require the purchase of carts. Though most folks' seem to still be rocking their OG cartridge.

Maybe I got it wrong but,

Isn't saying such thing very misleading for someone who has still to purchase a vape pen?
Dabbler DOESN'T need any cart. If in the future they come out with an (optional?) cart this is not like "you'll find yourself buying carts anyway".
Sorry if I got it wrong
