Any advice when buying my first weed vaporizer?

I'm looking for my first weed vaporizer.
I'm a medicinal smoker. So I want to invest in something good that will last.
I have read over a few kinds. The volcano is so far my favorite. But really expensive. (Love one that is 550$)
I'm just asking for advice and recommendations.
Cheers~
Update: I don't like pigs. No thanks. ;)

If you like a volcano that means you're open to non portable options. Take a look at Arizer Extreme Q, or The Ditanium, epic vapes eNano, or Ed's TNT Woodscents. There is also the S&B Plenty (same company as volcano), VapeXhale EVO. I'm a big convection guy so my daily drivers are Splinter Z or Ghost MV1 roaming around the house, and if I'm in my mantown room the eNano on a whip or dry water pipe.

If it was me and I could do the entire thing again my first vape would have been the Extreme Q. It can extract very small amounts or giant loads. You can use a whip, blow up a bag like a volcano, or use it through a water pipe. I really loved that vape when I first started vaping.

Anything worth doing, is worth overdoing.
You have to figure where you'll be using this vape the most. If you only vape at home then consider a plug-in. I highly recommend the e-nano by epic vapes. I don't see the volcanoes as being as versatile as you have to fill this huge bag with a sizable load of herb, plus the cost is ridiculous. I do see a volcano useful for someone that wants to do share with others in a large session and wants to "pass it around", but there are cheaper options mentioned above.

If you need something to take out of the house as well and you can only get one vape, then you would need a portable. There are battery powered portables and torch heated portables based on what you like. For a battery portable you wouldn't go wrong with an Arizer solo or one of the healthyrips models like the compact Fury 2 or the new, larger Fierce. People love the mighty's and crafty's but they are a bit more expensive.

For a torch model, people like the vapcaps, the Lotus, vapman and stickybricks. It does take some practice with a small torch to dial it in and not burn your herb.

The list goes on and on. There are a lot of great vapes and also some dogs. I say decide first on where you'll be vaping, alone or in larger groups, and how much you want to spend.

I have a graveyard of vapes here. For a while now I been platooning between my nano at home with a mid sized bubbler and then a Fury 2 for the road or around the yard. All together with accessories, both set-ups are signifcantly less than $550.

Also, don't forget that we are a short time away from some black friday deals coming up.

My first vape was a volcano and while I have many others the volcano is still in use all day every day.

Yes, go to newvape.com and get a flower pot
This is good advice which I second as a throughly wise, well thought out plan of action.

And when you have done that, go to https://herborizer.com/en/ and buy a Herbo Ti. Digital format coming any day or week (or month lol) now.

Edit- I should add more. These are 2 of the very best desktop vaporizers in the world right now. Both very close and similar in performance when it comes to vaporizing flower at least. These are both my two favourite vaporizers of all time. Both are extremely easy to use providing the highest quality while also some of the smoothest and best tasting vapor you will find, with hard-hitting fully penetrating and deeply medicinal effects to match.

I am always repeating this but must do again what I want to emphasize to the OP is how not all vaporizers are even close to being equal when it comes to how effective they are at delivering the medicinal benefits of cannabis. These two devices in particular have really stood out and impressed me in this regard, and I regard them both to be superior medical devices above any others I have personally experienced.

And they just happen to be practically the best desktop vaporizers in the world anyway in just about all categories. The Flowerpot is arguably a little more versatile in that it is designed to be able to vaporize flower and oils at the same time, although for most people this is more of a novelty rather than a regular usage approach.

It has also been argued quite strongly, that the Herbo Ti's vape signature hits a little harder than the Flowerpot, herb for herb, and has slightly better taste. I believe I can attest to this myself after recent experiences with the Herbo Ti, but I absolutely love the Flowerpot to pieces and I can't say that I like the Herborizer more. I am unable personally to use the Flowerpot vaporizer but if I could I'm sure I would have both of these desktops to alternate between.

For a first vape I would get a log vape. They are powerful, simple to use and you can leave them on so you can use whenever you want. Also if its for medicinal reasons you might want to be able to use a small amount. The major logs are the enano, hi, underdog and whisperscent. They each have their own strengths. If you plan on getting 1 vape for a while you might check out the whisperscent. It is a log vape but one of the components is a vapcap which is a small, butane vape which is very popular one. That way you have a plug in vape and a portable one for the same price.

One that I rarely see recommended is the vapor brothers 1. It's a very old model and seems to last forever. Although I have an EQ, I use the VB often as my main plug-in because I prefer simple whips. My main portables are the Fury 2 and the Tubo Evic. I didn't recommend those because I think a log is the best first investment in a first vape mainly because of simplicity, power and durability.

Hi Maggie. Sorry Im a little confused: by Whisperscent, do you mean Woodscents? It's just that I haven't heard of the Wisperscent before and when I saw your post I was naturally expecting to hear you mentioned the Woodscents.

Just in case it was a typo, and purely for the OP's sake.

'Plenty' by Storz & Bickel, probably the Most Well thought out design on the market
for all round performance!
The FP, Herborizer, Woodscents, eNano, Volcano, Extreme Q, are All Top Rate performers.
But, if your a 'medicinal smoker' and really like to search the band, You'll find yourself
always going back to the 'Plenty'?
i guess the reason being, is that the designers of these other brands, never gave
the 'Plenty' a true, long term workout..... Personally? Only then could they realize that
the 'PLENTY' is on a whole different plain above the rest!
Including S&B's own Volcano, which No one can deny, is rated as the World's #1 Vapourizer.

Too late to edit but yes- woodscent. Ed is an artist with wood.

I just want to add that I don't know how someone can say that a specific vape is the best desktop (or portable). There are so many variables that lead someone to value a specific vape that what I think is best someone else might not.

For someone trying to kick smoking especially, I also recommend the NewVape FlowerPot (or the Herborizer which is a similar design for flower users and cheaper in Europe). I had a lot more to say in some other recent Ask FC threads if you want more.

The VapCap is another great choice if you want portability, and both have satisfied a lot of smokers making the switch. :)

I wanted to get into vaping and did research and more research. Having been a nicotine vaper for a good few years I felt the pitfalls of electronic vaping are:
- Buy a mod (not satisfied, buy another mod, buy another mod and so on)
- buy batteries for the mod, more batteries and buy a charger
- buy atomizer, coils, buy coils, make coils, more atomizers
- must have a back up to you No. 1 and then maybe a back-up to that
- different types of wire give off different chemicals at high temperatures

So I stumbled accross the Dynavap M, got one and man, best revelation to the herb process. Got lighter, gas and Vapcap = total happiness (on demand vaping and no wastage)

So, No electronics = similar to smoking but way better

Vapcap has zero learning curve to not burn your meds. It makes a distinct "click" sound when heated. You have to actively space out and frak up to combust.

If you like the look of the tech end of things? go for it! If you enjoy collecting? do so! If you want an OMG monster clouds session device? electronics are your friend. Neuropathy or tremors? once again electronics (but some more than others, let us know if that applies).

Vapcap.

I'm a medical user and have not used anything other than my Vapcaps in years now. It allows for both precision micro dosing and the ability to load up for a long hike. The device alone is smaller than any electronic vape; add a lighter and it's still smaller than all but the minis. Airway is stainless steel or titanium. I also much prefer the retro, old skool, artisan look Vs. electronics. You may not.

Add an induction heater for precision, no butane heating, and your cost is still less than the better hand held electronics. In or around the house I use a PortSide heater. For a day in the woods I use a lighter.

Guys/girls. I just want to emphasize this point again because this is such an important yet still unrecognized aspect.

A lot of people are self professed medical users. There really is a massive difference between specific vaporizers in the extent and depth to which they deliver the medicinal potential of the actives into the body.

I use my vapcap every day. It is great and has its place in everybodies line up. But it is not my only vaporizer, and I would be very far from content if it was.
The vapcap is nowhere nearly as medicinal, if you could actually get a meter and observe the level of bodily/system/homeostasis support we would see just what I am talking about.

The 2 desktops I mentioned, FPSH and Herbo Ti, have really impressed me with the extent to which they are more deeply and genuinely medicinal. They just deliver better quality/conditioned actives into the body. Plain and simple. Not all vapor is equal, and this is especially true for medical applications. I feel this really needs to be recognized more.

I am certain that many people who are using cannabis medically to manage serious conditions, would get much better relief/support with a superior vaporizer.
There are very many I have not tried which I have no doubt meet this criteria. But of those I have I can honestly attest to the medicinal superiority of those 2 vapes.

You get so much more than a weed vaporizer, which makes it an even better investment and if this concept is understood properly (shit I lost my trail of thought there)....But notnsure how to say what Im trying to say really.

In life- there's decsions. There's luck. Crossroads. Opportunities.
If I was only going to buy one vaporizer as both a medical and recreational device- it would pay off enormously over time to pick such a device as I am describing so that from the off, you will immediately be receiving a greater level of medicinal support.

I would also get a vapcap as well, no question. And I would look to acquire more vapes in time possibly to see if I could improve the experince further for myself with variety and different styles etc. Which is the real reason we all have VAS right?

Yes! medicating potential is very real!

I could run through an entire battery on my Arizer Air, 5 or so stems, and would not get the effects of a single stems worth in the Flowerpot.

Without any description how you want you use that vape, you will only get recommended vapes that are generally good, not jsut those that will really fit your needs.
How many times per day you use?
Do you only use at home? How much would you be willing to sacrifice for a cordless vape if you wanted one?
How much weed do you want to vape in a session? Do you want to vape in session or just take single hits every now and then?
What can you do with your lungs? Can you take long deep big hits or can you only take little hits?
How sensitive is your throat? do you want it to be smooth or can you handle some harshness?
Do you care about different effects from different temperatures?
How much maintenance, cleaning and realoading difficulty can you accept?
Et cetera...

Volcano is a great vape, but I think it's best for groups and parties. I think it is the best choice for a single person ony in very rare and special cases, like if they have some serious physical disability and need big simple parts or have weak lungs, that they can only suck bags with.

@invertedisdead , Is that with flowers? There is that much difference? Every time I have attempted to read or look they are always talking about coils and nails and concentrates. It is confusing, and overwhelming, especially when you have little access to, and hands on experience.

It does seem that "best" would be personal. It's great that there are so many good or better vapes, but beyond good or better would depend on personal preference. I'd love a Volcano, but don't care much for bags. The Volcano might change my mind, but it might not. Either way, it's still a great vape, from my understanding. I hear great things about VapCap. I don't like using lighters, so I am not sure it's best for me. I have no doubt it's wonderful. The bridge from good, or better to best would seem to be personal preference.

Opinion R like ASS HOLES everybody has one!
Just get what U can afford and help’s U achieve what you’re seeking 2 accomplish?

I have experienced several kind’s of vaporizer ‘s so I have a very jaded POV?

I have never had bag so I can’t say anything about them?

Desk top = EVO I like for it’s effect & flavor.
The “Q” is cheap however not bad really. (They have bag’s I never have tried)
The @DDave kit seem’s 2 add enhancements 2 make it function 4 my need’s!
SILVER SURFER ‍♀️ very powerful & uses a bit more than most!

Wand’s & LOG’s = Da NANO is super simple to use and EPIC is in California! (LOG)
Da LSV is a nice water vape however very stoney?

PORTABLE
Battery the cheap one do not taste very well 4 me?
The cheapest and tolerable is the OG SOLO in my case.
Their R other more costly ones however I’m cheap!

Torch
the “M” from VAP CAP if BLING is overkill?
Da LOTUS 4 bigger load’s (not bad)

Get want U need!

Yeah even with just flowers. The Showerhead works with any 20mm barrel coil, the VROD has tighter tolerances and needs a specific coil but that is being addressed right now.

My personal preference is a lsv dry through a glass piece.
Mrs.arb prefers the volcano and solos as does my daughter.
The nanos are solid but secondary mainly due to constantly having to repack and the cracking doesn't help aesthetically.
Nobody here was impressed by the vapcaps not bad units but not really for us I guess.

Recently bought my daughter her first vape, and went with the Arizer EQ. You can easily find it for $149.00 (daughter even got grinder and duff jar included for that price). It can do whip or bags, and with DDave mod kit, you get a pretty great vape. I love my Silver Surfer, and got a blem unit from 7th Floor for $160. If you are looking for anything in that price range, you might look into either of those. Great sales coming up on Black Friday. Great time to buy a vape.
