anti-inflammation herbal firecrackers

Anybody else try anti-inflammation firecrackers, peanut butter with natural herbs (but not cannabis)? I developed plantar fasciitis so my heels are very sore/inflamed at times.

My physical therapist recommended several fruits/herbs for their anti-inflammation properties. These include tumeric with black pepper, pineapple, papaya, ginger.

Tumeric with black pepper has much better absorption rate and tumeric with fat can even bypass the liver and enter the bloodstream via the lymphatic system.
I could not easily find raw tumeric so got organic powdered which is strong tasting.

So, I did a tumeric/black pepper/ginger powder peanut butter firecracker which did a crackin' job of hiding the strong taste.
Note that since amping up a natural herb assault on my plantar fasciitis a few days ago, that has made the most dramatic improvement. It could be coincidence or those natural elements are really doing their magic.

I'd never had papaya before and it's "different", tastes like a cantaloupe with a bitter chaser. For now, I'm hiding it in my daily steel cut oats breakfast bowl :)

Most diseases have a heavy inflammation aspect so others may want to try the natural focused approach too.

Another mix I use is green tea with my fresh basil and diced fresh ginger root.

What have you tried and liked??

Aside those you've mentioned, i like the anti-inflammation properties of Camomile,Aloe Vera,Althaea officinalis and Frankincense (orally in capsule form ).

I make a Turmeric Milk drink once or twice a day. It's quick and easy and delicious.

To a mug add:

1 tsp Ground Turmeric or double the amount of fresh if you have it.
A pinch of Black Pepper.
1Tbsp peeled chopped fresh Ginger.
1 tsp Ground Cinnamon.

Fill mug three quarters full with boiled water
Top up with heavy cream and sweeten with sweetener of choice.

Yummmmm

Not only is this highly anti inflammatory but it makes a wonderful night cap to help ease you to sleep. I like to start and end my day with Turmeric Milk.

I've been taking some tumeric caps that my doctor had suggested, you can get it off Amazon. It's kinda spendy if you take two soft gels it will last a couple months. She said her Natropath suggested it. It's from EuroMedica and it's called CuraPro. Each gel cap has 750mg tumeric. I started taking these last spring. Be careful because the second gel cap in the beginning will give you a little bit of loose stools. :oSo start taking the one cap and gradually start taking two.:2c:

The tumeric milk sounds awesome.

IIRC I heard about turmeric and black pepper having great anti-inflammatory properties I decided to put black pepper and turmeric in some cannabis pain cream that I was making.

Unless you only wear black clothes, I recommend against adding turmeric to topicals.

With a capsule filling device you can buy Turmeric from the grocery store to fill the caps.

This thread disappeared on me/ fell off my radar, sorry.
@Squiby , 1 tsp of turmeric, wow, yikes, I'm a lightweight :)

I am not a fan of the taste of turmeric, more negative when I started using it. Now, it's "not so bad" but possibly getting more ok as I have more of it.
In my multiple experiments, 1/8 tsp is about the max I can handle at one time. Originally I only could manage 1 /16.
I wonder what a good wellness supplement dose of turmeric would be, the minimum amount to get a good boost to your system?

In researching turmeric/curcumin, it seems to top top tier herb for multiple wellness/health benefits. And like cannabis, it has been used for centuries as medicine and we (western dumb-asses) are only now re-discovering it. It is an amazing herb.

?? Very important question--- Does anyone know if the ground turmeric you easily can find has the same full health/wellness/medical benefits as the raw turmeric?
Or does the process of making it into dust/powder destroy some goodies??

I finally found a store with raw Turmeric root BUT:
- can stain your fingers. counter tops, etc. Recommended to wear gloves
- research seems to show it is one of very few plants that needs to be slightly cooked to really work to full capacity.
So root form DOES NOT seem easily doable enough, for moi.

Some of my health items, I'm willing to go full raw as I can work with that, like:
- raw Basil as easy to do, I actually have the plant in a pot in kitchen. Outdoors on good days
- Ginger root. Fresh in fridge, pretty easy. I bought ginger powder first but fresh is doable. Does powdered ginger have all the full spectrum of fresh???
- Tea. Raw bulk green and black Kenyan tea. Brewing with teaball is doable. Grabbing a premade teabag would be easier but this is worth it.
ETC.

Extremely interesting new study on turmeric/curcumin, conducted in India. It was shown to be more effective for serious depression than Prozac. Well, that's a slight mis-statement. It was shown to be as effective as Prozac BUT without any of the multiple possible Prozac side effects. That, to me, is incredible. Now if your company makes Prozac, not so incredible :)

Just learned today of another turmeric booster that I had never even heard of before LOL

"3. Mix it with quercetin – Quercetin is a plant pigment (flavonoid) that is found in many plants and foods, such as red wine, red grapes, onions, green tea, apples and berries.

Quercetin inhibits a certain enzyme that deactivates curcumin. Fruits with a dark red or blue color have the highest quercetin content. These include cranberries, blueberries and black plums. Vegetables that include quercetin are red leaf lettuce, raw kale, chicory greens, raw spinach, sweet peppers, snap beans and raw broccoli."

I believe that raw turmeric is more powerful medicinally. I use fresh whenever I can get it. Black pepper dramatically increases turmeric's bioavailability along with a healthy fat. I use coconut oil or heavy cream. I think that dried turmeric is made by boiling it then drying it. I can't get fresh turmeric all the time so I mostly use the powder.

I don't know but I imagine that fresh is better if you can get it. I always have fresh ginger in the fridge. I use it in cooking and in my daily turmeric drinks.

Powdered ginger is known to stop a migraines so I think that it is still powerful dried and ground.

I have an autoimmune disease so I know about inflammation. My breakfast juice is spinach, celery, raw turmeric root, raw ginger root. a small bit of garlic, ground black pepper, put in a nutri bullet with water suck it up and drink it anyway. My supplements besides cannabis are Palmitoylethanolamide (works on cb1 and 2 receptors like cannabis) MSM powder - organic sulfur, Biokult - best probiotic I've come across, Magnesium powder, Vitamin c powder to help magnesium absorption, Vitamin D at 10000 ui daily and evening primrose oil. Does any of this work? Well since I started this regime and quit dairy, gluten and processed foods, I've only had partial flares and psoriasis, not the mind-crippling God is standing on my wrist flares that completely immobilised my joints. Tumeric is better fresh as it has the oils in it for absorption and you don't need to add anything to it.
