That fits with what I saw too. The online instructions I read at the time said the first temp started at 180C. I already felt 180C would be too high for the lowest temp but it seems the units we both got were set 5C higher which is not insignificant.
IIRC my first two settings are now 162C and 172C and I'm happy with them. I use the first for tasting new strains and the second as a starting point if I want to temp step for a long session.

Just got me AE today and have done 4 burn offs at max temp and still notice a smell. Does the halogen bulb have a unique smell to it or do I need to continue doing burn offs until there is no smell at all?

I did about three or four burnouts, and there was still a slight smell. I said screw it, loaded it up, and went to town. Didn’t taste anything.

You must have some awful herb then bc the AE is known for flavor! Ok j/k, I’m going to roll with your advice and load it up tonight

Just messing with you! Excited to try my first halogen vape. I’ll post after a week of using and give my objective review.
No halogen bulb should have a smell or a flavor. That's one of the reasons we use it for vaping. I suspect the smell is from another part of the vape.

clean out with iso 91 percent evaporate and 2 -5min burn-outs, again. that smell comes from that case it comes in.
let case and unit get a outside 1 hour sun tan without batteries then let it cool down.. reinstall batts. it worked for some users turn unit over after 30min in sun
air out and sun-bake your inside of empty case -opened to the sun for 1 hour too

I just received my cable to customize temps. Anyone had any issues in doing so? I downloaded everything and have followed the instructions on the website but keep getting an error thay says "Obtain the serial port list and select the serial port correctly OR check the USB cable." Im literally at the screen to update the temps but keep getting the error message and it won't recognize my model. Any help is much appreciated.

If you’re trying to do this on a Mac with the Angus enhanced software running in a virtual machine, it’s not going to work. Or, at least, I was unable to get it to work. The first thing you need to do at the top is select the port the device is attached to. After that, it was clear sailing for me.

Appreciate that! The instructional video had me selecting Com3 whereas I had to select Com5 for whatever reason. I unplugged and plugged back in after I updated the temps and everything was saved so I'm good to go. Everyone here is awesome!
I got my ae a couple weeks ago but it wouldnt charge via usb which sucked but after a few emails they sent a 2nd unit out which arrived today! The none charging one may technically be faulty but i feel like 2 for the price of 1 is an insane deal!
Also wanted to ask about the airflow, im not sure when i should be adjusting it? I generally leave it open because i dont like that milkshake feeling when its choked. This seems like a cool forum btw

It’s up to you where you leave the airflow. It’s purely a user preference thing. I like mine wide open too.
Ah thats good to know thanks i was under the impression it could be used to adjust the harshness/intensity of vapor, but i guess just hitting it gentler is what should be done

Besides the recently bought dynavap M7 XL, which I also enjoy, I have only been rolling joints for the last 15 years. Will be interesting if I can make the transition fully.

You picked a great starting point, the angus and the m7xl were both incredible additions to my collection and got me fully off of joints & tobacco! Started with an xmax v3

When you have way too many vapes, you get to find little niches where each of them really shines. I think the AE on 2 is my favorite couch sipper. It’s a great vape all around, but this is primarily where I find myself using it.
Although if I can be completely vain for a moment, I don’t think I would use it as often if I didn’t have a beautiful leather wrap around it.

I also received a defective unit, it wasn't charging either. I spoke with the store MagicVaporizers where I bought it, and they quickly contacted the manufacturer. After a couple of messages, I already had the tracking number for my replacement defective unit... great work and service by MagicVaporizers and YLLVAPE for their response and solution!! Does anyone lube the o ring of the stem holder base? I thought of applying some coconut oil, but am not quite sure. Other than this, this vape keeps smacking me everyday into valhalla for 2 weeks constantly now.
